Edna R. Nelson Kilby

Edna R. Nelson Kilby, a long-time resident of Campbellsville, formerly of the Saloma Community, daughter of the late Jethro Glenn and Ida Bell Bacon Glenn, was born September 7, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She passed away at 6:05 P.M., Tuesday, July 26, 2022 in Greensburg at the age of 89.

She professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age and at the time of her death, was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church of Campbellsville and a long-time member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

Edna was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and an avid fisherman, having held the family record for the largest bass caught at the time of her death.

She united in marriage to Omer Lee Nelson, who passed away May 26, 1972.  She later married Paul Franklin, and after his passing, she united in marriage to Claude Kilby, who also preceded her in death.

Edna is survived by two sons:  Jimmie Lee Nelson, Sr. and wife, Wanda and Henry Allen “Hank” Nelson of Campbellsville; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Waymon Nelson of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Jimmie “Bo” Nelson, Jr. and Jessica Nelson Hedgespeth and husband, Bobby of Campbellsville and Kevin Patrick Nelson of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren: Nathan Nelson, Sierra Nelson and Chase Hedgespeth and several other great-grandchildren; two sisters:  Laura Bell Lawson and Henrietta Oakes Anderson and husband, Ted of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Edna was preceded in death by two sons:  Leroy Lynn Nelson and Frankie Lane Nelson; a daughter in infancy, Patricia Nelson; one grandson, John Daniel Nelson and one brother and two sisters:  Thomas Glenn, Dorothy Spurling Meredith and Stella Clark Martin.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Green Hill Manor for the excellent care they provided and also to the staff of the Elegant Touch for their kind consideration and service.

Cheryl Elaine Hubbard Obituary

Cheryl Elaine (Hatton) Hubbard, 58, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ronald Keith Hatton and Wilma Jean Mobley Hatton, was born May 9th, 1964, in Columbus, Indiana, and departed this life on Sunday, July 24th, 2022, at her home in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Elwood Baptist Church.  Cheryl graduated from college with an associate degree in business and worked for Seymour Tribune Newspaper for many years.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

Cheryl is survived by:

Two daughters:  Jessica Miller and her fiancé, Mitchell Strong of Campbellsville and Sarah Harris and her husband, Adam of Memphis, Tennessee.

One son:  Justin Hubbard and his wife, Natasha, of Memphis, Tennessee.

Nine grandchildren:  Victoria Miller and her fiancé, Damian Johnson of Campbellsville; Dalton Miller of Seymour, Indiana; Logan Miller of Campbellsville; Hailey Miller of Campbellsville; Elizabeth Harris of Memphis, Tennessee; Gabriella Jean Hubbard of Memphis, Tennessee; Addison Hubbard of Memphis, Tennessee; James Hubbard of Memphis, Tennessee; and Penelopi Hubbard of Memphis, Tennessee.

Three brothers:  Jerald Hatton and his wife, Adrienne, of Columbus, Indiana; Gary Hatton and his wife, Kathy, of Columbus, Indiana; and Darrell Hatton of North Vernon, Indiana.

Besides her parents, Cheryl is preceded in death by one brother:  Kevin Hatton.

Arrangements will be forthcoming from Auberry Funeral Home & Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville.

Rebecca “Becky” Powers, of Campbellsville, formerly of Louisville, was born April 19, 1961 in Rhode Island to Donald Powers and Judy (Rafiner) Persons-Powers and departed this life on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 61 years of age,

She was a former factory worker and Kroger in Louisville and most recently Dynacraft-Paccar in Louisville and was of the Baptist Faith.

She was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army.

Becky enjoyed reading, playing with her pets and spending time with family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death a brother: Joe Powers.

Survivors include her wife: Barbara Hall; three sisters: Donna Brown, Shayne’ Heil and Holly Sinkhorn; brother-in-law: Scott Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Rebecca “Becky” Powers will be Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the Resthaven Cemetery in Louisville with burial to follow.

Visitation from 4-8 PM on WEDNESDAY in the Campbellsville Chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
