Darryl Scott Dillery

Dr. Darryl Scott Dillery of Campbellsville, formerly of Albion, Michigan, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at his home. Born on May 4, 1961 to Dean George and the late Martha Jean (Adams) Dillery, he was 61 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville First United Methodist Church. “Dr. D”, as he was affectionately known, was an educator by trade; he had earned doctorate from the University of Kentucky and was currently employed as a math professor at Lindsey Wilson College. He had also served as a visiting professor at the Air Force Academy. He valued the relationships he forged with his all of students, and was a lifelong encouragement to many of them in return. He was a proud supporter of the Lindsey Wilson Swim Team, an avid canoer, and widely recognized by his beloved and brightly colored shirts.

His father: Dean George Dillery of Battle Creek, Michigan,

Three children: Megan Dillery Duff and husband Stephen of Lexington, Laura Christine Dillery of Campbellsville, and Melissa Grace Darnell and husband Colin of Louisville,

Three siblings: Kirk Dillery and wife Robin of Battle Creek, Michigan, Daniel Dillery and wife Barbara of West Melbourne, Florida, and Leslie Shaw of Michigan,

Three grandchildren: Andrew Scott Perkins, Edison Duff, and Oscar Duff,

And a host of extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Campbellsville First United Methodist Church, 317 E. Main St., Campbellsville, KY. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, Feb. 26, after 1:00 PM until time for the service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to Hosparus of Green River.

Don England of Campbellsville, son of the late Marvin Lee England and Mary Eliza Davis England Underwood, was born November 9, 1947 in Adair County, Kentucky.  He died at 4:46 A.M., Tuesday, February 21, 2023 in Louisville.

Age:  75

He professed faith in Christ.

Don was a retired superintendent with Mack Davis Construction.

He loved his son and grandkids.  Don was an avid Nascar fan and especially enjoyed watching Dale Earnhardt.  He knew a little bit about everything and loved to cut up and clown around with friends and family.

He united in marriage to Beverly Mills September 5, 1970.

Besides his wife, Beverly England of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Kathy England of Campbellsville; two grandchildren:  Shelby Burton and husband, Chase of Greensburg and Hannah England of Campbellsville; two step-grandchildren:  Dakota Sloane and Dalton Adkins of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters:  Steve England and wife, Renay and Brenda Perkins of Campbellsville and Phyllis Pecar and husband, Michael of Indiana; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. Clifford Buel Hayes

Reverend Clifford Buel Hayes of Campbellsville, the son of the late John Russell Hayes and Elsie Blevins Hayes, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Grandview Nursing and Rehab.

Buel, as he was known to many, was a long-time pastor and printer.  He was previously part owner of the Central Kentucky News and was the owner and proprietor of Buel C. Hayes Printing on First Street in Campbellsville since 1974 until his retirement in July of 2022, where he worked for many years with his son, Bobby and David.

“Poppy” as he was known to his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and several who thought they were his grandkids, leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Renee Martin and husband, Craig of Lexington and two sons, David Hayes and wife, Donna and Bobby Hayes and wife, Karen of Campbellsville.  There are seven grandchildren:  Shannon Lyman (Steve), Lauren Poullus (Rob), Dana Hayes Fuller (Ches), all of Lexington, Drew Hayes (Sarah), Jordan Hayes (Hunter), Jade Hayes Finn (Tyler) of Campbellsville and Josh Hayes (Whitney) of Columbia, Kentucky.  There are seventeen great-grandchildren and two more on the way. Special friend and long-time companion, Elizabeth Goff Humphress and a “special grandson”, Phil Lawhorn.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Marine Hayes; infant daughter, Diana; three brothers:  Raymond, Dwight and Johnny Ray, and two sisters:  Frances Hayes Lawhorn and Joyce Kay Peach.

Brother Buel was pastor for 11 years at Creston Missionary Baptist Church in Casey County and was a long-time Sunday School teacher at Campbellsville Baptist Church.
