THOMAS “JAY” JEWELL FRENCH

Thomas Jay “Jewell” French, 84, son of the late Cooper & Verdie (Howell) French was born in Larue County on September 16th, 1937, and departed this life at his home in Hodgenville on Saturday, July 9th, 2022.

Thomas was an architecture of blueprints for contractors and construction workers. He used architecture drawing tools like the ones at https://www.archute.com/architecture-drawing-tools/ doing the blueprints.

Survived by:

His wife:  Ruth Ann Elliott of Hodgenville.

One daughter: Tara Nichol Hall and fiancé Thomas Grammar of Campbellsville.

Two sons:  Jason Brian French and his wife, Pixie, of Louisville and Timothy Jay French of Lexington.

Two brothers: Jackie French of Hodgenville and Jerry French of Buffalo.

Two sisters:  Helen French of Hodgenville and Pat Vance of Magnolia.

Along with his five grandchildren and many other family and friends.

Besides his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by:

One daughter: Beverly Bell in 2009.

Two sisters:  Ruby Schillers and Jenny Pruitt.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in the form of donations to Pallister-Killian Mosaic Syndrome (PKS Kids) or Alzheimer’s Association and can be made at the funeral home.

Cremation was chosen by the family. No formal service is requested at this time.  Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville is in charge of arrangements.

Marcia Sue Reynolds Colvin

Marcia Sue Reynolds Colvin of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Billie Reynolds and Catherine Graham Reynolds was born December 31, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:15 P.M., Tuesday July, 12, 2022 in Lebanon. Age: 82

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle. She taught the Beginners Sunday Class for thirty-nine years.

Marcia Sue loved all people especially toddlers and provided childcare for many friends and family. In spite of her illness, she never lost her loving spirit and never failed to ask those she met if they were a Christian. She always kept a clean house for her family and loved to cook for others.

Marcia Sue united in marriage to Leroy Colvin June 27, 1959. Besides her husband, Leroy Colvin of Campbellsville she is survived by two sons and one daughter: Holman Colvin and wife, Tammy and Rodney Colvin and wife, Connie of Campbellsville and Angela Martin and husband, Kerry of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren: Andrea Farmer and husband, Jason, Dexter Colvin and wife, Becca, Raven Colvin, Wes Colvin and wife, Kacie, Kelsey Willis and husband, Hunter and Gabrey Colvin; ten great-grandchildren: Jacey Farmer, Elly Farmer, Luke Colvin, Cade Colvin, Nora Colvin, Sadler Colvin, Sawyer Colvin, Ethan Miller, Colt Willis and Raegyn Willis; one sister, Betty Hall and husband, Max of Newington, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Ralph Hedgespeth; two sisters-in-law: Eleanor Reynolds and Bernice Reynolds of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Curtis Aaron Colvin; four brothers and four sisters: Barry Reynolds, Tommie Lee Reynolds, Romey Reynolds, Sr., S.L. Reynolds, Emma Milby, Elsie Gaddie, Audrey Cowherd and Mary Ellen Hedgespeth.

Wanda Little Merritt, 76

Wanda Little Merritt, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Clifford and Lola (Smith) Little, was born April 7, 1946 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Louisville at the Jewish Hospital. She was 76 years of age.

She was a former employee of twenty plus year at fruit of the Loom and most recently, a clerk at the Dollar General and was of the Christian faith.

Wanda enjoyed reading and gardening, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bobby Wayne Merritt in 2016; a brother: Harvey Little and a sister: Mildred Perkins.

She leaves to mourn her passing, two children: Melissa Carter and husband Timmy of Campbellsville and Kevin Merritt and wife Christina of Indiana; two sisters: Audrey Gupton and husband Lawrence of Greensburg and Linda Little of Washington; a brother: Earl Little and wife Dorothy of Campbellsville.

Also surviving are four grandchildren: Zachary Carter and wife Haley, Spencer Carter, Cianna Wright and Easton Wright; four great-grandchildren: Axton Lile, Ellason, Colton and Adleigh Carter and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Wanda Little Merritt will be conducted Monday, July 18, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the (Campbellsville Chapel) of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Family requests visitation from 5-8 P.M. on Sunday after 7:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
