Lorene Whitley

Lorene Whitley of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Charlie Callahan and Lottie Herron Callahan, was born February 24, 1931 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 11:03 P.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith.
Lorene was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after forty-four years of service.
She united in marriage to Joseph “Joe” Whitley June 14, 1950 and he preceded her in death October 30, 1988.
She loved her children and family. She also enjoyed her flowers, watching game shows and listening to George Jones.
Lorene is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Whitley of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Brad Akridge and wife, Regina and Derrick Whitley and wife, Felicia of Campbellsville, Lisa Blandford and husband, Tommy of Lebanon and Andrea Wood and husband, Mark of Russellville; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Odel Callahan and wife, Charlotte of Campbellsville and Rudolf Callahan of Louisville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marla Gale Gilbert September 6, 2021; a son-in-law, Mel Gilbert January 25, 2018 and a brother, Tom Callahan.

Hunter Ray Benham

Hunter Ray Benham gave us all four perfect months of his fantastic little life. The happiest baby there ever was, was born on November 12, 2021 and went to be with his Great Great KK on Tuesday March 8, 2022. Loved by so many in such a short time, but with us forever, and forever in our lives. Hunter loved looking at his fingers, watching TV, and his Mommy singing to him. He leaves to celebrate his beautiful life his super Mommy and Daddy, Gracie Miller and Ira Benham, his awesome older brothers, Asher Skaggs and Hayden Williams, best grandparents ever Krissy and Manuel Gutierrez, Jr, Amanda Benham, Chris Benham, and Michael Miller. He also has a team of favorite aunts and uncles, Logan Brown, Belle Brown, Laura Gutierrez, Manuel Gutierrez III, Gabe Gutierrez, Haley Benham, Maria Burress, Sierra Fleener, Madison Abren, Hailey Armstrong, and Brooklyn Maupin, and his hilarious cousins, Ellie, Liberty, Emmy, Addy, and Ashton. He also has wonderful Great Grandparents, Kim and Joe Pendleton, Donna Benham and Bill Miller. He will now watch over us with his Great Great grandparents, Carol and Bill McKinney, Great Great grandfathers, Billy Benham and Roscoe Hunt, and Great Grandmothers, Janice Miller and Peggy Gilbert. He had much more family in his life as well who all cared for him. Hunter loved his family so much and they love him even more. He will forever be our smiling angel and with us for eternity, he is and will always be one of our babies. All love and thoughts are appreciated.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Eugene Mardis

Eugene Mardis of Campbellsville, son of the late Lemuel Mardis and Mattie Farmer Mardis, was born October 29, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:55 A.M., Monday, March 7, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.
Eugene was retired from Heating and Air Conditioning work and had worked for nine years at Campbellsville Indepemdent School System.
He took pride in keeping his yard looking good and loved visiting with his grandchildren.
He united in marriage to Nellie Wade June 9, 1956.
Besides his wife, Nellie Mardis of Campbellsville, Eugene is survived by one daughter and three sons: Charlene Becker and husband, Jeff of Burnett, Wisconsin, Gary Mardis and wife, Karen, Timmy Mardis and wife, Janet and David Mardis and wife, Gena of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren: Karen Swanson and husband, Travis, Sylvia Westra and husband, Joe, Sasha Jones and husband, Justin, Mason Mardis and wife, Erica, Justin Mardis and wife, Sara, Katie Firquin and husband, Jon, Aidan Mardis and Lily Mardis; ten great-grandchildren: Miranda Morse, Kaylee Morse, Alyssa Westra, Clayton Westra, Cohen Westra, Anniston Jones, Addleigh Mardis, Leighton Mardis, Addi Mardis and Max Mardis, one great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn Ball; one brother, Harold Mardis and wife, Euonia and one sister, Frances Lee of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Eugene was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers: Marie Short, Arlene Willis, Dorothy Mardis, Irene Short, Ed Mardis, Clinton Mardis and William “Bill” Mardis.
