Walter Gregg Young, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Walter Chaney Young and Juanita Jean Powell Young, was born January 12, 1934 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 7:30 P.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Elizabethtown. Age: 84
Walter served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and proudly retired after twenty-four years.
He was a member of the American Legion Edwards-O’Banion Post No. 82.
He is survived by one son and one daughter: Walter Gregg Young, II and wife, Brenda of Palm Bay, Florida and Juanita Ann Young of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Abby Young and Hunter Young of Florida and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Rae Young August 23, 2017.

Florice Larimore, age 95

Florice M. Larimore, 95 years, 7 months and 16 days of age, of the Black Gnat Community, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Florice was born on September 14, 1922 in Green County, the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Mary Sweeney Mears.    Also preceding her in death was her husband Harold H. “Buck” Larimore and her one and only son Michael Lee Larimore.

She spent many years prior to her retirement as a seamstress for Fruit of the Loom.  She had made a profession of faith and was a long-standing member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Diane Larimore Troy of Campbellsville, two granddaughters, Michela Larimore of Campbellsville and Leslie Larimore of Loganville, Georgia and a grandson by love, Harold Richard “P.J.” Troy of Campbellsville.    Also surviving are three great grandsons, Christopher Larimore, James “Sid” Larimore, Aleks Larimore, all of Georgia and one great granddaughter, Mackenzie Larimore of Campbellsville.

The service for Florice M. Larimore will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Lyon- DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Rowell officiating.    Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.

The family request visitation between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday May 6, 2018 at Lyon- DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to Downs Syndrome of South Central Kentucky and may be made at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

David Lee “Joaner” Nelson, 86

Mr. David Lee “Joaner” Nelson of Campbellsville, son of the late William and Edna (Stearman) Nelson, passed from this life on Monday, April 30, 2018 after an extended illness. Born on July 28, 1931, he was 86 years, 9 months, and 2 days of age. Mr. Nelson was a retired truck mechanic for Flav-o-Rich and Chappell Dairy. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1952-1955. Mr. Nelson enjoyed stock car racing, and won several trophies as an amateur driver. As a man that always tried to better himself, he was also a competitive bowler, but he loved his family above all else.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His wife: Ruby (Carlisle) Nelson of Campbellsville,

A step-daughter: Pam Gribbins and husband Eric of Campbellsville,

A step-son: Keith Spurling of Campbellsville,

Four siblings: Thelma Barnes, Betty Sharp, Rachel Durham, and Allen Nelson, all of Campbellsville,

Five grandchildren,

Eleven great-grandchildren,

A special friend: Brian Caulk of Lexington,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by five siblings: Pearl Sullivan, Ruth Nelson, Gladys Milby, Florence Curry, and Buckner Nelson.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Nelson on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jim Collison will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Cemetery, Maple Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 2, after 10:00 AM until time for the service.
