Patricia “Pat” Lynn Kearnes Phillips, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Kansas City, MO. She was born on November 3, 1943, in Campbellsville, KY, to the late Wade and Mary Belle Roberts Kearnes. A lifelong resident of Campbellsville, Pat grew up in the Methodist church and later became a devoted member of Campbellsville Baptist Church after marrying her husband of more than 50 years, the late Randall Phillips.
Pat worked throughout her adult life, beginning at Chappell’s Dairy and later at several local banks before retiring from the Taylor County Clerk’s Office. She approached every job with humility, kindness, and a gentle leadership style that left lasting impressions on coworkers who became dear friends. She was active in the Republican Women’s Club and spent several years as a dedicated Girl Scout leader, pouring her heart into every troop meeting, badge, and campout. She enjoyed serving in her church, especially through cooking for events and Vacation Bible School.
She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Phillips-Gibson (Chip); her daughter-in-law, Jamie Phillips; her grandsons, Robert “Jake” Gibson, Noah Gibson, Mason Phillips, and Aidan Phillips; her nephew, James Benningfield; her niece, Jolene Kearnes; and many extended family members and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Phillips; her son, Kevin Phillips; her sister, Betty Benningfield; and her brother, Joe Kearnes.
Her family gives special thanks to Joanie Bright, Shirley Murphy, Barbara Cundiff, Carolyn Groves, and the staff of The Madison Senior Living, whose care allowed Pat to spend her final years with comfort, dignity, and laughter—even on the hardest days.
Pallbearers are Jake Gibson, Noah Gibson, Mason Phillips, Aidan Phillips, James Benningfield, and Chip Gibson.
An informal visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 3rd, at 10:00 AM at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM. There will be no formal receiving line; instead, guests are invited to gather and share memories of Pat. There will be a brief graveside service immediately after the funeral at Brookside Cemetery.
