Carolyn “Moochie” Taylor, age 60

Carolyn “Moochie” Taylor, age 60, of Campbellsville, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home after an illness.

Moochie was born in Campbellsville, on March 17, 1957 to the late Marie Holmes.   She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Taylor with whom she enjoyed riding their Harley Davidson motorcycle.      She had worked in the past as a sales clerk at the Dollar General in Campbellsville where she was loved by all that got to know her as well as working at the Pit Stop where she was known as “Granny”.

Moochie was survived by her children Richard Allen “Richie” Taylor and his wife, Amy, Christopher Robert Taylor and his wife Donna, Ashley Malone and her husband Donny, all of Campbellsville, Maye Chastain of Columbia, Anthony Chastain and Roger Dotson, as well as 12 grandchildren.  Also surviving are her brothers, Allen Holmes and his wife Sandy of Campbellsville, Jimmy Holmes of Elizabethtown and her sisters, JoAnn Lotter and her husband Harold as well as Cheryl Blevins and her husband Paul of Louisville, and special friends, Shelly Adams Bishop, Lonnie Farmer, John, Harold and Gloria Giles and Anthony Gabehart.

Funeral services for Caroyln “Moochie” Taylor will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Rafferty officiating.   Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery with Shane Turner, David Benningfield, Kenny Clark, Jacob Covin, Trent Williams and Nelson Bishop serving as casket bearers.

The family request visitation on Friday, May 5th, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Carolyn requested that memorial contributions be donations to the Elk Horn Baptist Church Youth Group.

Eric Buckman, 44

Mr. Samuel Eric Buckman of Campbellsville passed from this life on May 3, 2017 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born on March 3, 1973 to Frances Ann (Shively) Buckman and the late Robert Wayne Buckman, he was 44 years and 2 months of age. Mr. Buckman professed faith in Christ and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He loved being outdoors, and was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and took pleasure in farming and riding horses.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His mother: Frances Buckman of Campbellsville,

Four siblings: Angie Buckman of Madisonville, Wayne “Junior” Buckman of Campbellsville, Aaron Buckman of Campbellsville, and Chad Buckman of Louisville,

And a host of extended family and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Buckman on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 7066 Calvary Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Joey Buckman, Chris Buckman, Jason Buckman, Josh Buckman, Caleb Buckman, and Logan Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Tim McCauley and Matt Brown.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 6, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY.

Samuel G. Cox, 76

Mr. Samuel G. Cox of Indianapolis entered into rest on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at his home after an extended illness. Born in Elkhorn on July 30, 1940 to the late Howard and Ora Mae (Herron) Cox, he was 76 years and 9 months of age. Mr. Cox was married to Mary H. Cox, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2010. He was a truck driver by trade, and he enjoyed his work. His mind was a cultivation garden for ideas, which he loved sharing with those around him. Mr. Cox professed faith in Christ, and was of the Christian faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Four children: Samuel K. Cox and wife Judy, Denise Bowman and husband Eric, Jeffrey G. Cox, and Rhonda G. Vaughn and husband Jason, all of Indianapolis, IN,

Two sisters: Doris Childress of Louisville, and Patty Burress and husband Freddy of Speck Ridge,

Five grandchildren: Jammie, Jennifer, Samuel K. Jr., Jessica, and Daniel,

Ten great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Evelyn O’Neal, Sylvetta Ford, and Shelia Cox.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Cox on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Pastor Anna Overstreet will be officiating. Following the service, Mr. Cox will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Callahan Cemetery, 4571 Speck Ridge Rd, Elk Horn, KY.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 4, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
