Captain William L. Straley, II of Campbellsville, son of the late William Leo Straley, Sr and Geneva French Straley, was born on March 23, 1924 in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 11:01 P.M., Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Louisville. Age: 92
William was a captain in the US Merchant Marines for nearly 50 years and was employed by ExxonMobil and the American Maritime Officer’s Union. As a US Merchant Mariner he earned veteran status for his service in the US Merchant Fleet during World War II. During that time he survived a German U-boat attack that sunk the ship he was serving on in the South Atlantic Ocean.
Besides his wife, Genrose Straley of Campbellsville, he is survived by two daughters and two sons: Jennifer Rattliff and husband, James, Gayle Feldman and Jeffrey Straley and wife, Deborah of Campbellsville and John Straley and wife, Barb of Lexington; nine grandchildren: LeAnn Stanfield Straley, Justin Rattliff, Olivia Rattliff, Chase Feldman and wife, Terrah and Samantha Willis of Campbellsville, Richie Deener of Louisville, Jonathan Straley, Laura Straley and Clint Durham of Lexington and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, William L. Straley, III and a brother, J.T. Straley.

Jesse Kendall of Campbellsville, son of the late Gurvis Kendall and Gladys Head Kendall, was born on May 29, 1941 in Monroe County, Kentucky. He died at 11:09 A.M., Thursday,
March 9, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 75
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Sunny Hill Church of Christ.
Although he enjoyed spending time outdoors tending the roses, coon hunting or just taking the time to look at a car or truck, his favorite pastime was always truck driving. To him it was more than a profession, it was a passion. He retired from driving a semi-truck after working for both, Fruit of the Loom and H & O Transport.
He united in marriage to Linda Dearing December 25, 1960 and she preceded him in death April 6, 1994.
He united in marriage to Lois Parsons Lobb May 27, 1995.
Besides his wife, Lois Lobb Kendall of Campbellsville he is survived by two daughters:
Sherry Kendall and LoAnne Calmes and husband, Kelly of Campbellsville; two step-children: Wendell Lobb and wife, Miranda of Walton and Wanda Keltner of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Jonathan Cook of Campbellsville and Devin Kendall of Lexington; four step-grandchildren: Krisinda Jeffries and husband, Greg and Andrea Rosales and fiancée John Shofner of Campbellsville, Brandon Lobb and wife Shelbi of Chicago and Michael Lobb of Erlanger; two step-great-grandchildren: Cameron Jeffries and Gracie Lobb; two brothers: Charles Kendall of Elizabethtown and Billy Kendall and wife, Shirley of Bowling Green; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby Nell and Ronald Hagan of Tompkinsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Jesse was also preceded in death by a brother, Randall Kendall; a step-son-in-law, Randall Keltner and a step- grandson, Jordon Daniel Lobb.

Marshall Daryl “Dinky” Graham, the son of the late Ezra Holmes and Ermine Graham Johnson, was born Wednesday, February 21, 1951 in Taylor County and departed this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 66 years and 15 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the God’s Grace Church in Campbellsville.
He was an employee for the Taylor County Sheriff Department, he was a Constable in the 4th District and in maintenance at the Splash Carwash and was formerly employed by Vaughn Shrader Cleaning Service in Campbellsville for over 11 years.
Marshall also enjoyed and took pride in coaching little league, he loved telling stories about his hunting and fishing experiences and spending time with his furry companion Sasha.
Marshall was preceded in death by two children: Peggy Jolene Graham and Marshall Daryl “Buck” Graham and two brothers: Vernon Graham and Stanley Graham.
Survivors include: Susan (Volk) Graham of Campbellsville; seven children: Marcella “Crickett” Graham of Ohio, Marshell Tompkins and husband Larry, Melissa Newton and Greg Herbig all of Louisville, Kim Mitchell and husband Joe, Jeff Herbig and Kevin Herbig, all of Campbellsville; four brothers and sisters: Allen Holmes and wife Sandy, JoAnn Lotter and husband Harold and Carolyn Taylor all of Campbellsville and Jimmy Holmes of Elizabethtown.
Also surviving is a daughter-in-law: Jessica Graham of Dry Ridge; sisters-in-law: Barbara Fritz, Carole Hogan and Debbie Harrod and husband Jim; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Marshall Daryl “Dinky” Graham will be conducted Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 12 Noon in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Bro. Ed Parrott will be officiating.
Family requests visitation from 5-8 PM on Friday at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
Memorials are suggested to the funeral expense fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
