William Toy “Tweetie” Powell, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late William Toy Powell, Sr. and Ida Betsy Stone Powell, was born January 3, 1933, in Union County, Kentucky. He died at 12:59 P.M., Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 83
He was of the Holiness faith and attended Jesus Name Church.
He served his country honorable in the United States Navy.
Tweetie was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and he and Betty spent many years as caretakers of Miller Park. He was also the owner of Powell’s Coating.
He united in marriage to Betty Yates September 2, 1969.
Besides his wife, Betty Powell of Campbellsville, he is survived by four sons and three daughters: William Toy “Butch” Powell, III and wife, Ashley of Greensburg, Danny Lee Powell and wife, Dorothy Jean and Kalah Brann and husband, Bruce of Henderson and LaRhonda Webb and husband, Danny Joe and Debbie Sharp of Campbellsville, Steve Sharp and wife, Tina of Henderson and Terry Sharp and wife, Edna of Lebanon; ten grandchildren: Shiann Powell and Cheryl Brockman of Campbellsville, Madelyn Powell, Addison Powell and Daniel Joseph Webb of Greensburg, Jason Brann, Phillip Brann, Sara Nordhoff and Christy Lyons of Henderson and Linda Totten of Roberts; four step-grandchildren: Jennifer Sharp of Henderson, Amanda Morris of Evansville, Indiana, Michael Lowery of Florence and Adam Pittman of Lebanon; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Claudia Mortis and Betty Stone of Corydon; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Tweetie was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Brann and two brothers and two sisters: Marshall Powell, Reuben Powell, Jewell Roy and Florence Wilson.

James A. Morrison of Campbellsville, son of the late John Morrison and Tiny O. “Dessie” Wright Morrison, was born October 2, 1923, in Cumberland County, Kentucky. He died at 12:25 A.M., Thursday, December 22, 2016 in Campbellsville. Age: 93
He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Mess Sergeant in the European Theater.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn United Methodist Church.
James was a retired rural letter carrier for the U. S. Postal Service and former owner and operator of Discount Used Cars.
He united in marriage to Madeline Burress January 16, 1950. She preceded him in death December 23, 2012.
James was a hard working man who was a mainstay to all his family and will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.
He is survived by two sons: Ronnie Morrison of Louisville and John Morrison and wife, Elizabeth of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Felicia Schultz and Katie Morrison of Louisville and Wes Morrison of Campbellsville; three step-grandchildren: Jacob Blevins, Joseph Blevins and Julie Blevins; two brothers and one sister: Billy Morrison and wife, Josephine and Nancy Baldock Overton and husband, R. J. of Campbellsville, Howard Morrison and wife, Sharon of Topanga Canyon, California; one brother-in-law, Allen L. Burress of Campbellsville; three sisters-in-law: Stella Morrison of Campbellsville, Eula Morrison of Albany and Cleo Burress of Mt. Washington; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
James was also preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Morrison, Edward Morrison and Elton “Chief” Morrison.

Mr. John Lanis Goode of Campbellsville, son of the late John and Nellie (Hoosier) Goode, was born in Taylor County on October 19, 1951. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the Hosparus Care Center in Louisville, being 65 years, 2 months, and 1 day of age. Mr. Goode professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He worked in the heating and air conditioning industry until his health failed. Mr. Goode loved to laugh and always looked for the best in any situation. His gentle and kind spirit will be dearly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
Two sisters: Maxine Blankenship of Campbellsville, and Patty Sullivan and husband Dempsey of Lebanon,
A close friend and companion: Brenda Emerson of Campbellsville,
Several nieces and nephews, including Gavin Sullivan of Lebanon, Marie Daugherty and husband Bill of Bardstown, Lora Montgomery and husband Ricky of Russell Springs, Tom Russell and wife Kim of Campbellsville, Ricky Gabehart and fiancé Mary Wesley of Campbellsville, Billy Dickens of Green County, and Susan Reardon of Campbellsville,
Great-nephews: Dustin Montgomery and Kyle Montgomery of Russell Springs,
And a host of other family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Dickens.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Goode on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. David Wray will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3878 Greensburg Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 22, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
