Robert K. Boston, 77

Robert K. Boston, of Campbellsville, the son of the late Ola and Bernice (Hood) Boston, was born March 23, 1944 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 77 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a charter member and pastor of the Mannsville Separate Baptist Church. He was a minister of the Gospel for more than 40 years. He retired as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service after 35 years.

Robert never met a stranger and would always witness to people about the Lord. He enjoyed working on the farm and cutting firewood.

He united in marriage on July 22, 1961 to Wilma (Cox) Boston, who preceded him in death in 2016.

He is survived by a daughter: Tammy Boston of Campbellsville; a grandson: Casey Seaborne and wife Sierra and a great-granddaughter: Kylee Seaborne all of Campbellsville; a sister: Kodelia Swears of Mt. Washington; five sisters-in-law: Linda Boston, Beverly Sue Cox, Kathleen Cox, Mary Nell Cox and Marcella Cox and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Kenneth Boston, D.K. “Bud” Boston and Charles “Bo” Boston and four sisters: Korine Whitley, Kay Hobbs, Kathryn Arvin and Koretta Johnson.

To honor the request of Robert K. Boston, cremation rites were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with a graveside service and burial that will take place at the Boston Cemetery in Hardyville, KY at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Gideon Bible Donation, which can be made at the funeral home.

Misty Garrett, 40

Mrs. Misty Dawn Garrett of Campbellsville was born on March 5, 1981 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Leon McGlone and Agnes (Sanford) Jeffries. She departed this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 40 years, 11 months, and 4 days of age. She had made a professoin of faith in Christ and was a member of Abundant Life Church. Although partially disabled many years, Mrs. Garrett was a happy, energetic person, and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory:
Two children: Devin McGlone, and Marissa Garrett and fiance Jackson Hunt,
Two brothers: Ray Flowers and wife Terrica, and James Flowers and wife Hope,
A longtime family friend: Chipper Moore,
And a host of other relatives and friends.

At the request of the family, cremation was accorded Mrs. Garrett. All services were held privately.

Danny Tungate, 39

Mr. Danny Randall “Randy” Tungate of Campbellsville passed from this life on Thursday, February 10, 2022 in Lexington at the UK Medical Center. Son of Danny Lynn Tungate and Faye (Garrett) Tungate, he was 39 years, 5 months, and 15 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ, and was a carpenter by trade. Although separated many years, he remained friends with his wife, Candace Tungate, and loved her children as his own.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

His father: Danny Tungate,
A significant other: Elizabeth Cisco,
Three stepchildren: Anastasia Tungate, Forever Tungate, and Thomas Tungate,
A sister: April Edwards and husband Lanny,
Two brothers: Davie Tungate and Jimmy Tungate and companion Erika O’Rafferty,
And a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Randy Tungate on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Tallow Creek Cemetery in Taylor County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 13, from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Thomas “Tom” Bottoms, 62

Thomas Alfred “Tom” Bottoms, of Campbellsville, the son of Martha Maxine Johnson Moss and the late James Wilbur Bottoms, was born November 14, 1959 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 62 years of age.

He was the former owner and operator of Magic Shine Floors, a Civil War Re-enactor in the 4th Kentucky Orphan Brigade.

He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife: Debra (Daffron) Bottoms; his mother: Martha Maxine (Johnson) Moss and husband Milburn; three children: Jeremiah Thomas Bottoms, Zachary Tyler Bottoms and wife Falesha and Jaclyn Nicole Benham and husband Joseph; four sisters: Sheri Stump and husband Jack, Nancy Bottoms, Chris Dudgeon and husband Mark and Sandy Bottoms; two brothers: Jimmy Bottoms and wife Kathy and Brad Bottoms and wife Laura; three grandchildren: Eleanor Elizabeth Bottoms, Amaurie Rose Benhanm and Ivory Faith Benham; his step-mother: Carol Bottoms; close friends: Bill Sanders, Robert & Terri Spegal, Rob Collins Bell and Jeffrey Hunt and the members of the 4th KY Orphan Brigade and all the friends and families associated with Tom during his years as a scout leader and mentor.

The funeral service for Thomas Alfred ‘Tom” Bottoms will be conducted Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Family requests visitation after 10 AM Tuesday until time for the service.

Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard in the parking lot following the service.

Rheta Faye Sexton, 87

Rheta Faye Sexton of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Gobel and Lora Ann (Keith) Wheat, was born March 6, 1934 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, February 3, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab. She was 87 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church where she served on the ladies Auxiliary and a former employee of Fruit of the Loom for over 30 years.

She united in marriage to Roy O. Sexton who preceded her in death.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Albert, Elbert and Elford Wheat, Delcie Janes and Gwen Wheeler and a son-in-law: Michael Taylor and a grandson-in-law: Robbie York.

Survivors include: a son: Ronald “Ronnie” Sexton and wife Debbie of Campbellsville; a daughter: Beverly Taylor of Campbellsville; a brother: Taylor Wheat and wife Jewell Dean of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Amanda York and Christopher Sexton and wife Destini; a great-grandchild: MaKenzie Darlene York and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral for Rheta Faye Sexton will be Monday, February 7, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Rev. Brent Gupton will be officiating.

Visitation after 11:00 A.M. Monday until time for the service.
