Robert “Bob” Wheeler, 68

Bob 2Mr. Robert Henry “Bob” Wheeler of Campbellsville passed from this life on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center after a battle with cancer. Born in Estill County, Kentucky on February 26, 1948 to the late Charles and Nancy Boyd (Lunsford) Wheeler, he was 68 years and 6 months of age at the time of his death. Mr. Wheeler spent the majority of his life in the construction industry. As a young child, his mother and father had instilled in him a faith in Christ, and earlier this year, he was saved and baptized in the Baptist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory:

Three children: Melinda Howard and husband Coy of Springfield, Mary Wheeler of Louisville, and Bro. Clay Wheeler and wife Heather of Staffordsville,

Two sisters: Margarita Thomas of Lexington, and Sue Dabney and husband Billy of Mannsville,

Four grandchildren: Jacob Howard, Derek Howard, Matilyn Wheeler, and Elias Wheeler,

A niece and nephew: Ann Dabney and Neil Dabney and wife Jaclyn,

And a host of other family and close friends.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Charles Curtis Wheeler.

There will be a memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Wheeler on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 6:00 PM EST at the Meadowview Baptist Church, 1211 Elkhorn Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718 with Bro. Clay Wheeler officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church after 4:00 PM until time for the service, and after the service until 8:00 PM. At Mr. Wheeler’s request, his ashes will be returned to Estill County for burial in the family cemetery alongside his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials take the form of contributions to the burial expenses. Frank H. Alexander, 80

AlexanderMr. Frank H. Alexander of Knifley was born in Ypslanti, Michigan on Friday, June 5, 1936. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 80 years, 2 months, and 18 days of age. Mr. Alexander was married to Mrs. Dorothy (Rose) Alexander, who survives. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Alexander was a veteran, having served his country honorably in the United States Army. As a young man, he began a career at the Ford Motor Company and worked there until retirement. With a desire to always leave things better than when he found them, he kept his mind sharp by playing euchre or solving word puzzles, and always had a well-manicured yard and flower garden.

He leaves to carry his legacy:

Four children: Christina Rose Ahrens of Michigan, Mickie Jo Bennett and husband Dan of Michigan, Alton Roy Gehringer and wife Ann of North Carolina, and Dennis Russell Gehringer and wife Natalie of Washington,

One sister: Mary Bykowski of Michigan,

Nine grandchildren: Kristi Jo O’Neil and husband Ben, Mark Trinkle, Levi Smith, Allyse Hartman, Martina Gehringer, Randi Bennett, Alex Gehringer, Samantha Gehringer, and Patrick Gehringer,

One great-grandson: Preston O’Neil,

Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Edward Rose of Tennessee, Lois Kothe of Michigan, Carol Silver of Kentucky, David J. Rose of Texas, and Effie May Ryan of Michigan,

Close friends: Bro. Bob and Bonnie Landlois,

And a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Frances(Hunt) Thompson.

Laura McGuire, 91

mcguire Mrs. Laura Francis (McCawley) McGuire of Campbellsville passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Lebanon at the age of 91 years, 9 months, and 5 days. She was born at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville to the late Herbert L. and Laura Francis (Malone) McCawley on November 16, 1924. Mrs. McQuire married Donald Davis McGuire at the St. Mark Episcopal Church in Louisville on May 31, 1958, and they shared their lives until his passing in 2007. She professed faith in Christ and was a faithful member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Campbellsville. Mrs. McGuire worked for Eastern Airlines in reservation services and loved to travel, do needlework, and arrange flowers.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two cousins: Lillian Hanscomb of Maine and her sister Alice Rudolph of Ohio,

Lifelong friend: Joan Kirzinger of Lebanon, and special friend: Helen Rice of Campbellsville.

A host of friends from Bluegrass Way, St. Thomas Church, and the Saloma Homemakers, and many friends from Boone and Banner Elk, North Carolina.

She was also preceded in death by her fraternal twin brother, Herbert Lawrence McCawley.

Mrs. McQuire chose cremation, and will be buried in the Lebanon National Cemetery with her husband. A memorial service to honor her life will be held at Bluegrass Way and will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

Nancy Suzann Bunn, 80

Bunn3Mrs. Nancy Suzann Bunn of Campbellsville passed away on August 20, 2016 at her home. She was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on November 14, 1935 to the late Edward and Virgie (Cruse) Rutten. She was 80 years, 9 months, and 6 days of age at the time of her passing. Mrs. Bunn professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. She worked as a receptionist in the court system for over twenty years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Bunn married James Finch, who preceded her in death. Later, she married Linwood Bunn, who also preceded her in death. She loved to laugh and spread love graciously and abundantly throughout her family and friends, but kept the candy for herself. She enjoyed several hobbies, most notably raising flowers, watching hummingnbirds or gameshows, and frogs of all kinds.

She leaves to carry her legacy:

Three children: Michael Finch of California, Teresa Beck of Campbellsville, and Patrick Finch and wife Joni of Georgia,

One brother: Skip Rutten and wife Anneliese of Washington,

Seven grandchildren: Wayne Cotten, Jennifer Hawthorne, Samantha Leigh, Jacob Cotten, Krissy Raser, Mahayla Crawford, and Austin Crawford,

Nine great-grandchildren: Amariss Webster, Vanity Hawthorne, Victor Hawthorne, Jack Leigh, Shelby Leigh, Messiah Smith, Raya Smith, Tymere Smith, and Elizabeth Smith,

And a host of other family members and friends.

Besides her parents and both husbands, she was also preceded in death by two children: Jamie Finch and Timmy Finch and a brother and two sisters.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday at 6 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Pic - BuleyMs. Misty Ann Buley of Campbellsville, daughter of Joyce Bennett, was born in El Reno, Oklahoma on March 26, 1974. She departed this life on August 15, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital as the result of a heroin overdose. She was 42 years, 4 months, and 20 days of age. Misty was a beautiful lady and known to those who knew her as a sweet, caring, and gentle person, but one who coped with a mental illness and severe chronic drug addiction.
She leaves to mourn her passing:
One daughter: Chloe Anna Bennett of Campbellsville,
Her mother: Joyce Bennett of Campbellsville,
A sister: Angie Bland and companion Bryan Bennett of Campbellsville; a niece and nephew: Ava Bennett-Marr and Wade Clark, three uncles: Eugene Bennett and wife Sissy, and Calvin Bennett and wife Dawn, all of Campbellsville, and David Bennett and wife Lori of Savannah, Georgia and a host of other family and friends.
