Betty Jean (French) Wilson, 78

Mrs. Betty Jean (French) Wilson of Campbellsville passed from this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. Born in Knifley on November 28, 1944 to the late Charlie and Lissie (Harris) French, she was 78 years of age. Mrs. Wilson was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Union Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Two children: Darrell Ford of Campbellsville, and Kathy Satterly of Shelbyville,

Two brothers: Garnett French and wife Donna of Ohio, and Clifford French of Campbellsville,

Thirteen grandchildren, including her caretakers Brandon Satterly and Jessica Veatch,

Nineteen great-grandchildren,

And a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wilson; a son: David Murrell Ford; three siblings: Mildred Elmore, Richard M. “Buster” French, and Bobby French; and a daughter-in-law: Louise Ford.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Wilson on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro David Wray will officiate. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, Oct. 17, after 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Brandon Satterly, Casee Satterly, Joshua Ford, Shondah Cowherd, David Ford, and Bryan Ford will serve as pallbearers.

Jerry Lee Williams, 73

Jerry Lee Williams of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late David Williams and Eunice Stayton Williams, was born November 16, 1949 in Campbellsville, KY and departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in Campbellsville after battling a long illness. He was 73 years of age.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He retired from the Taylor County School District where he worked in the technology department. He was known by many as “The Computer Expert”. His helpfulness to others was one of his finest qualities. He also built cherry furniture with his father and brother. He was rarely seen without a cup of coffee in his hand.

He is survived by his wife: Cindy Carney Williams, two daughters: Renee Duplantis of Elk Horn, and Vanessa Lyons of Campbellsville. Five grandchildren: Chelsea Turner (Matthew), Nicole Wise (Bennett), Jaleen Lyons, Michael Lyons and fiancé Tia Barnett, and Noah Duplantis.

Two Great-grandchildren: Brady Lyons and Jordyn Lyons

One brother: Rodger Williams and wife Paulette of Campbellsville and a host of other family and friends.

There will be a funeral service for Jerry Lee Williams on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, 1765 New Columbia Rd. Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Callahan Cemetery.

Bro. John Butler will officiate.

The family requests visitation on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 2023 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Larry Neal Glass of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Lawrence Glass and Velma Doby Gunnells Glass, was born November 26, 1948 in Barren County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. He was 74 years of age.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a auto mechanic specializing in starters and alternators. He was a “rebuilder” and enjoyed mowing, being outdoors, farming and was a “jack of all trades”.

He is survived by his wife: Melissa Daffron Glass of Campbellsville, two sons and one daughter: Tony Glass and wife Kathy of Glasgow, Ashley Pike and husband Wade of Greensburg, and Aaron Daffron of Campbellsville.

Five grandchildren: Kelsay Turner, Jake Turner (Emily), Gabe Glass, Andrew Glass, Allison Daffron, and one expected granddaughter Raven Daffron. Three great-grandchildren: Elliott Glass, Allison Turner and Lucy Turner.

Two sisters and one brother: Becky Johnson and husband Jerry, Sandy Hagan, Jeff Glass and wife Carol all of Glasgow.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Timmy Glass and Lisa Bledsoe.

There will be a funeral service for Larry Neal Glass on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, 1765 New Columbia Rd. Campbellsville, KY with cremation to follow.

Delbert Lee “Peanut” Dotson, 80

Delbert Lee “Peanut” Dotson of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late Jake Dotson and Bessie Martin Dotson, was born June 25, 1943 in Larue County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab in Campbellsville, KY. He was 80 years of age.

He was a farmer and had done construction and sawmill work. He enjoyed fishing, listening to country music, his dog Taco, and visiting with family and friends. He was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by one sister: Helen Wooldridge of Campbellsville. Thirty nieces and nephews and a host of other friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Floyd Dotson, Gibb, Dotson, Raymond Dotson, Odell Dotson, John Henry Dotson, Willie Arvin Dotson, and Walter Gene Dotson. One sister: Glenda Dennison. One niece and nephew.

There will be a funeral service for Delbert Lee “Peanut” Dotson on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1 P.M. EST at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, 1765 New Columbia Road in Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Otter Creek Cemetery.

William Garrett “Johnny” Amburgey of Shepherdsville, KY, the son of the late Balford Amburgey and Virginia Ritchie Amburgey, was born June 15, 1946 in Knott County, KY and departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY. He was 77 years of age.

He had been employed as a coal miner and in his free time he loved to hunt and fish. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his wife: Diane Ritchie Amburgey, Two sons: James Everett Amburgey and wife Ashley, and Johnny Wayne Amburgey all of Shepherdsville, KY. One grandson: Donovan Everett Amburgey.

There will be a funeral service for William Garrett “Johnny” Amburgey on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1 P.M. EST at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel, 1765 New Columbia Road in Campbellsville, KY with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
