Helen Thomas Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jesse James Thomas and Pauline Wright Thomas, was born July 15, 1931 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 5:56 A.M., Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Campbellsville.  Age:  89
She professed faith in Christ and was a life-long member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.
She united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Smith October 10, 1950 and he preceded her in death April 23, 2001.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by two sons:  Gerald Smith and wife, Kittie and Barry Smith and wife, Kim of Campbellsville; five grandchildren:  Mike Smith and wife, Chasity,  David Smith and wife, Vickie, Thomas Smith, Dwight Smith and wife, Natalie and Rylen Smith; nine great-grandchildren:  Alex Smith, Aiden Smith, Adalyn Smith, Ava Smith, Brandon Cain, Gracie Smith, Ember Smith, Ryder Smith and Kristen Smith; one brother-in-law, Bobby Bennett; one sister-in-law, Virginia Smith; a special cousin, Sharon and Norman Feese and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Kaye Thomas Bennett.

Lillie Rose Brown of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Lee Dalton and Prudy Campbell Dalton, was born September 6, 1941 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. She died at 7:38 P.M., Monday, May 31, 2021 in Lexington. Age: 79
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Botts Christian Church and also attended Salem Baptist Church. Lillie was a true servant of God whose two most important priorities in life were her relationship with God and family. Music always brought her joy.
She united in marriage to Ernest Harris who preceded her in death and she later united in marriage to Paul G. Brown who also preceded her in death.
Lillie is survived by one daughter and three sons: Sharion Abney and husband, Jeffrey of Campbellsville, Eddie Harris and wife, Vanessa of Frenchburg, Roger Harris and significant other, Brenda Hudson of Deep River, Iowa, Jessie Brown and wife, Angela of Morehead; step-son, John Zekausky of Louisville; nine grandchildren: Clinton Abney and wife, Keisha, Anthony Abney and Wife, Bri and Jake Harris and wife, Baylee of Frenchburg, Kirsten Harris of Frenchburg, Graciela Vanover, Abby Brown and J.M. Brown of Morehead, Josh Harris and Jeremy Harris of Iowa; two step-grandchildren: Amy Lasley and husband Larry and Luke Zaring and fiancé, Ann Marie Turner of Louisville; six great-grandchildren: Mayci Abney, Henry Abney, Camden Harris, Cecilia Harris, Amelia Harris and Hayden Harris; one brother and one sister: Kenneth Dalton and Virginia Brown of Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Lillie was also preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Caleb Dalton, Louise Tyra and Linda Dalton.

Joel Allen Gaddis

Joel Allen Gaddis of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was born June 6, 1988. He passed from this earth on May 26, 2021
at the age of 32.

Joel is survived by his parents, Allen and Tonia Gaddis and children, Jenny, June, Jaxon and Jessa; his grandparents, Betty and Kevin Johns of Smiths Grove, Kentucky and Linda Boston and Ann Gaddis of Campbellsville, Kentucky; his aunt and uncle, Sherry and Larry Bowen of Campbellsville, Kentucky; a cousin, Amelia Bowen of Campbellsville, Kentucky; another uncle, Travis Boston of Glasgow, Kentucky. Joel was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herald Gaddis and D. K. “Bud” Boston and his uncle, Terry Boston. Additionally, Joel is survived by a number of friends and extended family.

Joel enjoyed playing drums, had a great knack and interest in computers and had a keen wit. He liked to fish and hunt in his younger years. He could often be found helping others and was always showing compassion for those struggling with life. His kind and warm heart and great hugs will forever be missed.

The family will receive those wishing to honor and remember Joel’s life from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

The family will have a private service and burial at a later time.

Carl Dobson of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Vernie Dobson and Lillie Mae Webb Dobson was born on March 7, 1939 in LaRue County, Kentucky. He died at 3:23 A.M., Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 82
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Carl was a retired Police Officer of thirty six years, having also served the role of a former firefighter and court deputy.
Carl united in marriage to Sharon Hinton Dobson April 11, 1976 and she preceded him in death February 19, 2013.
He is survived by five children: Barry Dobson and wife, Michelle of Campbellsville, Doug Dobson and wife, Brenda of Lebanon, Janet Hilbert and husband, Dennis of Bardstown, Ronnie Dobson and wife, Becky of Hustonville, and Sharon Hilbert and husband, Mark of Louisville; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Dobson, Sr., and wife, Corine of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Carl was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond “June” Dobson.

Naomi Korine Whitley of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ola Boston and Bernice Hood Boston, was born January 9, 1934 in Hart County, Kentucky. She died at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 87
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She was currently attending Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church with her son.
She was an employee of Fruit of the Loom for fifteen years and at the age of 50, went back to school and became a laboratory technician and worked as a lab tech at Taylor Regional Hospital for fifteen years.
She united in marriage to Howard Whitley January 21, 1949 and he preceded her in death April 2, 2010.
She loved the Lord, her family and enjoyed her many flower gardens.
Korine is survived by two sons: Greg Whitley and wife, Gayle of Campbellsville, Todd Whitley and wife, Trisha of Abita Springs, Louisiana, and a daughter-in-law Diane Whitley of Campbellsville. She is survived by six grandchildren: Ginny Scott and husband, Clint, Megan Wilcher and husband, John and John Whitley and wife Kayla, Rebecca Whitley; Melissa Hunter and Zachary T. Whitley; fifteen great-grandchildren: Tyler Scott, Summer Scott, Levi Scott, Abigayle Wilcher, Carter Wilcher, Jase Wilcher, Luke Wilcher, Noah Whitley, Kynleigh Whitley, Lyla Whitley, Lilly Rose Whitley, Beatrice Lockhart, Micah Hunter, Asher Hunter and Nate Hunter; one brother and one sister: Robert Boston of Campbellsville and Kodelia Swears of Mt. Washington; one sister-in-law, Linda Boston of Campbellsville; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends; Special caregivers, Mary Bustinza, Betty Hoosier and Diane Whitley.
