Nell Gardner, daughter of the late George Reeves Eggers and Gertrude Riall Eggers, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 11:20 A.M., Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 92
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Saloma Baptist Church.
She was a retired sales clerk with Central Furniture Company.
Nell united in marriage to Colby Gardner July 27, 1944 and he preceded her in death March 24, 1997.
She is survived by two nieces and one nephew: Patty Wagster of Dayton, Texas, Cheryl Thompson and William D. Eggers, Jr., of Canton, Ohio and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Dale Keith Gardner December 27, 1955 and a brother, William Doyle Eggers March 18, 1991.

Audrey Naomi Newcomb

Audrey Naomi Newcomb of Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the age of 79.

Audrey was born to Robert and Lottie Peterson on October 1, 1938 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She grew up as the youngest of eight and attended Campbellsville High School. In 1956, she married Bobby Joe Newcomb. Audrey attended beautician school and worked for many years as a beautician in Taylor County. Audrey was a wonderful cook and homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. In 2012, she moved to Westfield, Massachusetts to be closer to her son and his family.

Audrey is survived by her son, James Allen Newcomb; her daughter-in-law, Cindy Newcomb; and her two granddaughters: Audrey Jo Newcomb and Carlie Beth Newcomb; several nieces and nephews and may other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Newcomb; her son, Edward Dale Newcomb; her parents: Robert and Lottie Peterson; her sisters: Margaret Rittenhouse, Marie Akridge, Nadine Barnes, Elizabeth Reid and her brothers: John Peterson, Tom Peterson and James Peterson.

Earldeen A. “Deen” Smith

Earldeen A. “Deen” Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Earl Atwood and Hazel Loraine Dunn Atwood, was born July 22, 1939, in Simpson County, Kentucky. She died at 10:45 A.M., Monday, October 8, 2018 in Louisville, at the age of 79.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church where she had held several positions, including being a member of the choir, the Susan Loy Circle and the Board of Trustees.
She was a member of the Campbellsville Women’s Club and the Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Deen was a retired schoolteacher having taught in schools in Kentucky and Ohio for more than forty years and almost thirty of those were with the Taylor County School System.
She united in marriage to Tom H. Smith June 20, 1960.
Besides her husband, Tom Smith of Campbellsville, she is survived by two daughters: Tommi Hamilton and husband, Bob of Montgomery, Texas and Terri Gabriel and husband, T. J. of Gainesville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Derek Hamilton of Austin, Texas, Dagny Hamilton of Bowling Green, Davis Gabriel, Elliot Gabriel and Hayes Gabriel of Gainesville, Georgia; one sister, Wilma Thompson of Scottsville, Kentucky and many other relatives and friends.

Florence Mitchell Rhodes, daughter of the late Walter Taylor and Ruth Kidwell Taylor, was born July 14, 1932, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:28 P.M., Monday, October 8, 2018 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.
Florence was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and was an avid Coca Cola collector.
She united in marriage to James Lenwood Mitchell February 3, 1951 and he preceded her in death October 14, 2004. She later united in marriage to Bert Rhodes, Jr. April 9, 2014.

Besides her husband, Bert Rhodes, Jr. of Campbellsville, she is survived by two brothers and one sister: Mike Taylor and wife, Beverly, Jim Taylor and wife, Delois and Helen Walker all of Campbellsville; one sister-in-law, Laura Taylor of Campbellsville; three nieces and two nephews; one step-son and two step-daughters: David Rhodes and wife, Leslie and Patricia Wheat and husband, Doug of Campbellsville and Betty Harmon of Lebanon; six step-grandchildren: Jennie Connor and husband, Tony of Lexington, Ben Benningfield and wife, Brooke, Whitney Tungate and husband, Ryan, Jennifer Berry and husband, Cody, Rachel Cunha and husband, Raphael of Campbellsville and Amy Watkins and husband, Sam of Versailles; nine step-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Joe Henry Taylor and Peggy Bishop and a step-granddaughter, Judy Benningfield June 14, 2000.

Christine Benningfield

Christine Benningfield, daughter of the late Chester Arthur Benningfield and Ivan Martin Benningfield, was born December 25, 1948 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:38 P.M., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Glasgow. Age: 69
She had worked in the food service industry in several restaurants, Marion Adjustment Center, the Taylor County Jail, and was also the sign language communicator for the deaf at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Campbellsville Baptist Temple.
She is survived by two sisters: Kay Shipp of Campbellsville and Doris Price of Greensburg; five nephews: Mike Price and wife, Angie and Edward Price and wife, Janice of Greensburg, David Shipp and wife, Janice, Louis Shipp and Larry Bennett of Campbellsville; five great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Bennett October 9, 2014.
