Patricia Christie Smith

Patricia Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Norman Clelon Christie and Leander Shewmaker Christie, was born August 5, 1935, in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 6:00 A.M. CST, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in Greensburg. Age: 81
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
Patricia united in marriage to Carl Smith May 31, 1954 and he preceded her in death June 5, 1997.
She took great pride in caring for her family, as well as the many employees of the family farm. She and her late husband Carl shared a love for spending the winter months in Florida, and it was a passion she continued to embrace many years after his passing. She enjoyed God’s many gifts to include her dear family, beloved friends, the beautiful warmth of sunshine and dancing as joyous music filled the air.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter: Cris Henry Smith and wife, Kelly, Sam Smith and Janet Adams and husband, Rodger of Campbellsville; thirteen grandchildren:
Jeremy Smith and wife, Lisa, Jamie Smith and wife, Trena, Dusty Adams and wife, Amanda, Holly Adams Tackett and husband, Brian, Jackie Smith, Leslie Smith, Griffin Smith, Jake Smith, Emma Grace Smith, Sammi Jo Smith, Andrea Finn and husband, Jordan and Chase Adams of Campbellsville and Thomas Smith and wife, Chanelle of Louisville; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers: Norman Christie and wife, Margaret of Campbellsville and Charles W. Christie and wife, Rita of Hildebran, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret Blevins March 10, 1971, Isabelle Brockman April 15, 2012 and Betty Louvenia Christie in infancy.

Shirley Bolt Garrett

Shirley Bolt Garrett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late George Ellis Bolt and Eva West Bolt, was born October 14, 1932, in Casey County, Kentucky. She died at 9:31 A.M., Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Lexington. Age: 84
Shirley professed her faith in the Lord Jesus at an early age and was a faithful member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church for fifty-three years. She had been a Sunday School teacher, a GA leader and a member of the Women’s Group and Kitchen Committee. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, quilting and working in her flower garden.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Randy Garrett of Campbellsville, Brent Garrett and wife, Brigitte and Lisa Nelson and husband, Greg of Lexington, Sharon Fowler and husband, Jerry of Lebanon and Kerry Cundiff and wife, Connie of Liberty; one daughter-in-law, Diane Smith and husband, Troy of Campbellsville; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; three brothers and one sister: Howard Bolt of Liberty, Chester Bolt of Indianapolis Indiana, Roger Bolt of San Antonio, Texas and Marjorie Linkenhoker of Franklin, Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter, Barry Garrett January 3, 1992 and Tonya Garrett Oliver January 27, 2017; her first great-great-grandchild, Vera Clark and a sister, Freida Davis.

Elizabeth Mings Cave of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Tyler Mings and Laura Delia Sluder Mings, was born July 11, 1922, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:13 A.M., Sunday, April 30, 2017 in Campbellsville. Age: 94
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Palestine Baptist Church.
She retired from General Telephone Company after thirty-five years of service.
Elizabeth united in marriage to Leslie Hammon Cave and he preceded her in death April 20, 1996.
She is survived by one son, Alan Leslie Cave of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Katie Michelle Cave Wise and husband, Michael of Shelbyville and Amber Brianne Cave of Campbellsville; three sisters: Naomi Mitchell of Columbus, Indiana, Barbara Green of Macon, Georgia and Juanita Brown of Miami, Florida; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Walter Mings and Edgar Mings.

Margaret “Maggie” McMahan of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wentford Rafferty and Relda Romine Sanders, was born March 31, 1927, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:15 A.M., Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Columbia.
Age: 90
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. Maggie was a foster mother to numerous children over the years. Her love for people and helping others was always evident. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She is survived by three sons and four daughters: Sam McMahan and wife, Adrienne of Lexington, David McMahan and wife, Debie, Keith McMahan and wife, Marilyn, Rita Whitlow and husband, Rodney of Campbellsville, Brenda Napper of Columbia, Judith Massey and husband, Clyde of Cleveland, North Carolina and Stacy Hardy and husband, Mickey of Clayton, North Carolina; twenty five grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two children in infancy and two sons-in-law, Dale Napper and David Speer.

Ruby Evelyn Miller

Ruby Evelyn Miller of the Willow Town Community in Taylor County, daughter of the late George Thompson and Erie Beard Thompson, was born November 20, 1925, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:15 P.M., Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Greensburg. Age: 91
She professed faith in Christ and was a member and former pianist of Mt. Washington Baptist Church. She was a longtime caretaker of the church where she spent countless hours cleaning. In Ruby’s spare time she would do custom sewing and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren.
Ruby united in marriage to Thomas Miller September 22, 1941 and he preceded her in death December 8, 1984.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Carol Morris and husband, Rev. Robert Morris, Keith Miller and wife, Wanda and Larry Miller of Campbellsville; son-in-law, Larry Hunt of Raywick; eight grandchildren: Stephen Morris and wife, Carolyn, Mark Morris and wife, Sandra, Robyn Netherland and husband, Ben, Jamie Morris and wife, Amanda, Jason Miller and wife, Angie, and Nicholas Miller of Campbellsville, Kristie Mattingly and husband, Ryan and Josh Hunt and wife, Nora of Lebanon; nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and two expectant great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter, Joey Miller and Charlotte Hunt, four brothers and two sisters: Billy Thompson, Sam Thompson, Charlie Thompson, Ray Thompson, Betty Ann Lynch and Frances Price.
