Douglas Eugene Milburn

Posted by on Sep 24, 2013

Douglas Eugene Milburn of Fairdale, son of Esther Watkins Milburn and the late Harold Eugene Milburn, was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, March 2, 1948.   He died at approximately 6:00 P.M., Saturday, September 21, 2013, in Fairdale.  Age:   65

He was raised as a child in the First Church of God. He wasn’t big on expressing feelings but had let Amy know that he believed in God and Jesus and heaven.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was a retired tool and die worker having worked many years at Naval Ordinance.

His last wordly conversation was with Amy, which she believes, was within minutes of his passing.  Acting on her intuition at that time Amy had a brief dinner with his grandchildren and prayed for his healing and to feel better and soon, another prayer before leaving home for the proof of knowing for his soul and forgiveness. Knowing God hears all prayers and knows our heart and soul, may this bring you all peace.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Amy Michelle Milburn Kasey and husband, James Matthew Kasey of Taylorsville; his two grandchildren, whom he loved deeply in his heart and they considered him their favorite Peepaw, Miranda Michelle Kasey and Kyle Matthew Kasey of Taylorsville; his mother, Esther Watkins Milburn of Campbellsville; two brothers and one sister:  Melvin Wayne Milburn and wife, Robin of Crestwood; Richard Harold Milburn and wife, Laurie of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Paula Gayle Milburn Collins and husband, Ricky of Campbellsville; mother of his daughter, Rose Mae Phillips Milburn of Louisville; many other important relatives, in-laws, out-laws and friends of whom are all important.
