Jackson L. Swears of Mt. Washington, son of the late Clarence L. Swears and Ada Jackson Polley Swears, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky,
July 4, 1935. He died at 3:18 A.M., Saturday, August 13, 2011, in
Mt. Washington.
Age: 76
He was a retired employee of General Electric in Louisville.
He united in marriage to Kodelia H. Boston February 8, 1958.
Besides his wife, Kodelia Boston Swears of Mt. Washington, he is survived by three sons: Jeffrey Lynn Swears and Barry Gene Swears and wife, Heather of Louisville and Roger Alan Swears of Cox’s Creek; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Swears and Louise Polley of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Lee Johnson in May, 1995; one brother, Clarence G.(Tenny) Swears October 1, 2010 and one half-sister and two half-brothers: Virginia Phelps, Benny Polley, and James Polley.

Edith M. Abell of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Virgil Mills and Ada Stamp Mills was born December 12, 1920, in Drew, Arkansas.
She died at 11:25 P.M., Wednesday, August 10, 2011, in Campbellsville. Age: 90
She united in marriage to Arnold B. Abell who preceded her in death in 1995.
She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Buford V. Abell, Tommy Abell and wife, Dawn, and Lynda
Beard and husband, Moses of Campbellsville, Donna Reynolds and husband, Bill of
Upton, and Edith Edwards of Nicholasville; nineteen grandchildren;twenty-nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Theresa Mills of
Campbellsville and Helen Summers of Shepherdsville; former daughter-in-law and loving caregiver, Barbara Abell of
Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Marshall Abell July 1, 1942; one great-grandson, Nicholas Biles; one
sister and two brothers: Rosa Swihart, Russell Mills, and Granville Mills.

Theresa Kay Harris of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Shelby Pike and Lotus Roy Pike, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, April 2, 1944. She died at 8:14 P.M., Monday, August 1, 2011 in Campbellsville.
Age: 67
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom and Campbellsville Laundry.
She united in marriage to Seibert Harris July 2, 1962.
Besides her husband, Seibert Harris, she is survived by two sons and one daughter: Barry Harris and wife, Marlene, Kelly Harris and wife, Denise and Tammy York and husband, Roger of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Rachel Harris, Jessica Pyles and husband, Dustin, Brooke Harris, Brittany Harris, Mark Harris and Dusty Harris of Campbellsville; two step-grandchildren: Andy York and Kim York of Campbellsville; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: George Pike, Marilyn McMahan and husband, Keith, Carolyn Durham and husband, Howard Lee of Campbellsville; David Pike of Florida and Sue Gabbert and husband, Harold of Ft. Frances Mae Durham of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Fred Marple and Callie Fisher Marple was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 20, 1925. She died at 6:50 A.M., Sunday, July 31, 2011 in Greensburg. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Donald Keith Durham in 1983. He preceded her in death November 24, 1994.
She is survived by two sisters: Hazel Wise and husband, Willie of Campbellsville and Mary Jo Kennedy of Lexington; two nephews: Wally Humphress and wife, Peggy of Campbellsville and Howard Humphress of Canton, Ohio; several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: James H. Marple, Clifford Eugene Marple, and Anna Evelyn Marple; and one nephew, Steven Wise.

He owned and operated Acree & Company, a marketing and advertising agency inNew York for many years.
