Geri Daneen Bland Stanley of Hodgenville, KY, daughter of Gerald “Jerry” Bland and the late Linda Tucker Bland, was born December 8, 1965 in Indianapolis, IN and departed this life on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. She was 57 years of age.
She professed faith in Christ and attended Greater Works Church in Hodgenville. She loved gardening, feeding the birds, her dogs: Sam and Ben, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed teaching and studying the Bible with her friends.
She united in marriage to Jackey “Jack” Randall Stanley who preceded her in death in 2020.
Survivors include her daughter: Jessica Wafford and husband Ryan of Hodgenville, Her father: Gerald “Jerry” Bland and significant other Cecile Moore of Mannsville, KY, one brother: Jason Bland and wife Kim of Campbellsville. Three grandchildren: Evan Wafford, Owen Wafford, and Hensley Wafford all of Hodgenville. One niece: Madelyn Bland.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Tucker Bland, one daughter: Gentry Michael Stanley, one brother: Michael Todd Bland, and a nephew: Dylan Michael Bland.
The funeral service for Geri Daneen Bland Stanley will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Tallow Creek Cemetery.
Pastor Edward Palmer will officiate.
The family request visitation on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 5 – 8 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Ryan Todd, Jansen Hughes, Kerry Gusler, Brad Underwood, David Tucker, Kent Bland
Memorials are suggested to be donations to the Galilean Children’s Home or to Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

Cody Carson Baxter of Campbellsville, son of Jeff Baxter and Cyndi Smith Cheatham, was born March 23, 1990 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 6:39 P.M., Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Campbellsville due to coronary artery disease. Age: 33
He was employed as an associate with Amazon.com in Campbellsville and also employed at Tractor Supply, Sales Associate.
Cody liked hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending quality time with his beloved Maddie and Archie, and his dogs that gave him much joy.
He is survived by his mother, Cyndi Smith Cheatham of Campbellsville; his father, Jeff Baxter and wife, Cathy of Campbellsville; two sisters: Kate Cheatham and Olivia Cheatham of Campbellsville; his fiancee’, Ashley James and children, Maddie and Archie of Campbellsville; maternal grandparents: Faye and Boogie Faulkner of Campbellsville; paternal grandparents: Wayne and Linda Baxter of Campbellsville; one step-brother and one step-sister: Brian Young and wife, Shannon of Jamestown and Andrea Bolin and husband, Jeff of Campbellsville; three canine children; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
Cody was also preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Kenneth Smith and his step-father, Ed Cheatham.

Gerald Curry of Campbellsville, son of the late Raymond Curry and Ruth Ann Flounders Curry, was born January 9, 1943 in Larue County, Kentucky. He died at 4:10 P.M., Saturday, August 19, 2023 in Campbellsville. Age: 80
He was a retired Veterinarian Assistant at the Animal Hospital.
Gerald united in marriage to Rose Marie Tucker Curry December 24, 1970. She preceded him in death May 15, 2013.
Gerald is survived by one daughter, Tammy Haines and husband, William of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Shelby Haines, Ashley Edwards and husband, Zane, and Morgan Estes and husband, Chip of Greensburg, Jessica Lewis and husband, Chip of Bowling Green, and Jacob Haines of London; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Opal Harris and Wanda Brockman.
Gerald was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters: Thomas Curry, James Curry, Raymond C. Curry, Raymond Curry, Jr., Robert Lewis Curry, Helen Hare, Myrtle Wright, and Thelma Skaggs.

Mrs. Judy Ann Vetter of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wathell and Edna (Clark) Bishop, passed from this life on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the UL Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born on August 21, 1943 in Taylor County, she was 79 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and formerly attended the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. She was a retiree of Fruit of the Loom and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, online games, watching The Price is Right and Westerns.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Vetter, on October 18, 2014, and a son, Terry King, on December 31, 2019. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles “C.J.” Bishop, Gordon Bishop, Garnett Bishop, and Danny Bishop.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Two daughters: Lisa Hoosier and husband Daniel, and Tracy Thompson and husband Garrett, a sister: Mary Lois Powell.
Thirteen grandchildren,
Twenty-six great-grandchildren,
And a host of other family members and friends.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Vetter on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM EDT (12:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Mr. Harold Wayne Acree of Campbellsville, son of the late Gilbert Hulse and Nettie Mae (Shirley) Acree, passed from this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Green County, KY on March 21, 1952, he was 71 years, 4 months, and 27 days of age. Mr. Acree was a devout member of Truth Tabernacle UPCI, having been water baptized in Jesus’ name, and later received the gift of the Holy Ghost at a church camp in Freetown, Indiana in June 2022. He was a retiree of Ingersoll Rand, having worked over 42 years, primarily in the Special Build department.
Mr. Acree spent his life teaching his family the Godly values of a devoted and conservative lifestyle, and he lived his own as a daily example. Though his hobbies (and opinions) were many, he will long be remembered for the unwavering love and tenderness he had for his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife of 51 years, Betty Jean (Boils) Acree,
Two children: Tim Acree and wife Keshia of Bardstown, and Tracey Grady and husband Stephen of Campbellsville,

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Acree on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM EDT (12:00 PM CDT) in the sanctuary of the Truth Tabernacle UPCI, 4607 Old Lebanon Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Pastor Raymond Clark will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jesus Name Church Cemetery, Tabernacle Rd, Campbellsville.

Emma Lou Mings of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Joshua W. Holtzclaw and Lula E. Blair Holtzclaw, was born April 20, 1934 in Adair County, Kentucky. She died at 6:11 P.M., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 in Greenville, South Carolina. Age: 89
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of First Methodist Church.
She worked at Town and Country Furniture from the day it opened and until the day it closed, and later, worked at Lake Village Furniture.
Emma Lou united in marriage to Eugene Mings June 4, 1950 and he preceded her in death July 4, 2015.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Baldwin of Greenville, South Carolina; two grandsons: Blake Baldwin and wife, Katie of Greenville, South Carolina and Brock Baldwin and wife, Lindsey of Savannah, Georgia; one great-grandchild, Quinn Baldwin and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister: Albert Holtzclaw, Minnie Sublett and John Holtzclaw.

Charlie E. Wright, Jr., 78, passed away peacefully Monday, August 14, 2023. Charlie was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late Charlie E. Wright, Sr. and Julia Montrey Marcum.
Charlie resided in Louisville for many years with his wife of 57 years who survives him, Virginia Petot Wright. Charlie and Virginia raised their only child, Melissa W. Newton (Bryan). He is also survived by his granddaughter, Samantha Harris, his sister, Peggy Sue Cox (Allen) and brother, Kenneth Lee Wright.
Charlie went into the Army directly out of Taylor County High School. He served in the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper and medic. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway.
His hobbies were all around his love of Hot Rods, hence his nickname, Hot Rod Charlie.

Dave Frances, 69, of Elkhorn, Kentucky, son of the late Lawrence Frances and Antoinette Nastri Frances was born April 29th, 1954, in New Haven, Connecticut, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
He was united in marriage to Ms. Grace Frances on December 7th, 2003. She survives.
Dave professed faith in Christ and had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior. He played steel guitar and enjoyed making music with his daughter and neighbors. Dave and his wife formerly owned Frances Farm Equipment in the Elkhorn community.
Besides his wife, Dave is survived by:
One daughter, Sharon Frances of Elkhorn

Bryson Conley Skaggs, of Campbellsville, the son of Gerald and Brandy (Hawkins) Skaggs of Campbellsville was born March 9, 2005 in Marion County and departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2023 in Lebanon at the Springview Hospital as the results of an automobile accident. He was 18 years of age.
He was a 2023 graduate of Taylor County High School and was of the Christian Faith.
He loved to hunt, fish and just being outdoors, he enjoyed riding his four wheeler and texting with his friends.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister: Kaylee Brown and companion Landon Pike; a brother: Josh Brown and wife Lindsey; his grandparents: Marlene and Trent Tucker, Mary and Paul Sprowles and Ronnie Brown.
Also his special friend and high school sweetheart: Linda Couch; uncles: Matt Rainwater and Troy Brown, who was very special to him; an aunt: Lindsey Tucker; a niece: Kinslee Grace Brown; cousins: Madison and Makalya Tucker.
Bryson was preceded in death by grandparents: Ricky Hawkins, James Skaggs, Bonnie Williams and Floy Hawkins.
The funeral service for Bryson Conley Skaggs will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the Campbellsville chapel of L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Taylor County.

Mr. Colby Deener, Taylor County, Ky., died August 1, 2023 in the same house in which he was born on October 19, 1927 of the union of the late John W. Deener and Willie Lear Sullivan Deener. Mr. Deener was the youngest of his siblings: Lillian Deener (James) Richerson, Robert C. (Gladys) Deener, Annie Mae Deener (Turner) Wayne, Walter (Eva) Deener, Dorothy Deener (Wayne) Kessler, James W. (Jean) Deener, Ora Lee (Leslie) Morris, all of whom predeceased him.Colby Deener married Gloria Mae Reynolds in 1949 and would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary on August 6, 2023. They have four children, Larry C. (Martha) Deener, Deronda M. (Deener) David Eastridge, Jeffrey A. (Kimberly) Deener and Bradley N. (April) Deener, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.Mr. Deener was a career farmer in the Saloma area, farming land originally purchased by his father in 1904. He served on dairy cooperative and farming support organization boards. He was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He served in the U. S. Army from 1946-1947.
