Robert Thomas “Bobby” Roots of Campbellsville, son of the late William Thomas and Dollie Cave Roots was born August 27, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 8:33 A.M., Friday, May 6, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 82.
He professed faith in Christ and was a lifetime member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. Bobby was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom where he worked in the cutting room from the time he was in high school until its closing. Bobby also served the citizens of Taylor County as a Magistrate on the Fiscal Court for 37 years. He united in marriage to Judy Watson on April 27, 1962.
Besides his wife, Judy Watson Roots of Campbellsville, Bobby is survived by one son and one daughter: Robert Douglas Roots and wife, Wanda of Columbia, Kentucky and Sue Bowen and husband, Greg of Glasgow, Kentucky. Seven grandchildren: Alex Sexton and husband, Jamie and Samantha Benedict and husband, Jeff of Somerset, Kentucky, Whitney Roots of Lancaster, Kentucky, Keri Bowen Mosier and husband, Ryan and Grant Bowen and wife, Brittany of Glasgow, Kentucky: Kevin Cowan and wife, Tammy of Tennessee and Angie Cowan of Columbia Kentucky. Eight great-grandchildren: Zachary Benedict, Peyton Benedict, Zander Sexton, Blakely Mosier, Jaxson Rainwater, Makenna Cowan, Keiley Williams and husband, Cody, Adam Baker and expectant baby boy Bowen. Great-great-grandchildren: Emma Grace Williams and Jase Cowan. One brother Lawrence Roots and wife, Linda of Campbellsville; one brother-in-law Joe Watson and wife, Viola of Campbellsville; a very special caretaker Shannon Kreebs; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister Joyce Hubbard.

Floyd Robert Murray, of Knifley, the son of the late Steve Thomas and Annie Belle (Booker) Murray was born December 23, 1942 in Hardin County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 79 years of age.
He was a retired factory worker in Louisville and was of the Baptist faith.
He united in marriage to Ida May (Holcomb) ,who preceded him in death, he later united in marriage to Nina (West) Brown Murray of Knifley who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a step-son: Robert Brown of Knifley; a brother: Jesse Murray and wife Debby of Louisville; a grandson: Timmy Blevins of Columbia; two nephews: Tommy (Shaundra) Murray of Indiana and Terry (Robbie) Murray of Louisville and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son: James Robert Murray; three brothers: Hubert Murray, Willie Thomas Murray and Ray Murray and a sister: Katheryn Williams.
The funeral service for Floyd Robert Murray will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Sonora Cemetery in Sonora, KY.
Family requests visitation on Monday, May 9, 2022 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.

Christie Parsons Turner of Campbellsville, the daughter of David R. Parsons and the late Gwendolyn (Biggs) Love, was born February 5, 1975 in Campbellsville, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 in Loretto, KY. She was 47 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith and was a former supervisor at TG KY in Lebanon.
Christie loved music, traveling, seeing the ocean, and was very social, but most of all loved her son.
Survivors include her father: David R. Parsons and wife Rita; her son: Michael Turner; her sisters: Heather Parsons-Marrs and husband Steve all of Campbellsville and Jennifer Parsons-Ivey of North Carolina and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service for Christie Parsons Turner will be Friday at 5:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Griffin Cemetery.
Family requests visitation after 12:00 P.M. Friday until time for the service.

Julia Ann Colvin, of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Virginia (Coleman) Cox, was born September 26, 1948 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at her home. She was 74 years of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Methodist Faith and was a manager of several convenient stores in Campbellsville.
She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren, crafts, gardening and was an avid University of Louisville Basketball fan.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Childress and Margaret Redman.
Survivors include four children: Steven Colvin and wife Sue of Georgetown, Lisa McCarol and husband Mike and Jerry Colvin and wife Merica all of Campbellsville and Heather Gilbert and husband Bobby Ray of Florida; a sister: Dora Wagoner and husband Carl Lewis.
Also fourteen grandchildren: Chris Colvin and wife Victoria, Casey Colvin and wife Breanna, Braydon McCarol, Tyler McCarol, Sara Lopesilvero and husband Austin, Alex Colvin, Bailey Colvin, Riley Colvin, Jeremiah Despain and wife Maegan, Hayley Darnell and husband Bradley, Dakota Gilbert, Christina Gilbert, Ellington Gowin and Emerson Gowin; six great-grandchildren and two expectant; her longtime companion: David Pepper of Campbellsville and her dog: Rover and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Julia Ann Colvin will be Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with cremation to follow.

Jacklyn “Jackie” Beth Durham, 33, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ronnie Durham and Linda Durham, biological daughter of Pamela “Pam” Durham, was born June 10th, 1988, in Somerset, Kentucky and departed this life on April 25th, 2022.
She professed her faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith. Jacklyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and friend that will be missed very dearly.
Survived by one sister: Amanda Gill and her husband, Greg, of Campbellsville.
One aunt: Tammy Durham Bradshaw of Columbia.
One niece: Kaitlyn Warriner of Campbellsville.
One nephew: Klay Warriner of Campbellsville.
Two cousins: Allison Stewart of Jamestown; and Ty Wesley of Russell Springs.
VISITATION: Monday, May 2nd, 2022, from 5pm-8pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville.
FUNERAL: Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, at 12pm EST at Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville. Visitation will also be Tuesday starting at 11 am EST up until the start of the service.
Burial to follow in Grove Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery in Kings Mountain, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for expressions of sympathy be taken in form of donations toward Gideon Bibles and can be made at the funeral home.

Jerry Wayne “Hardhead” Muncie of Campbellsville, son of the late Lanous Muncie and Imogene Walker Muncie was born November 21, 1940 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 11:45 P.M., Thursday, April 28, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Jerry was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, having also served as a prison guard at LaGrange for three years.
He was a member of the Pitman Mason Lodge #124 F & AM.
Jerry was an avid fisherman, but was best known as a great husband, father, and papaw to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He united in marriage to Faye White August 11, 1979.
Besides his wife, Faye White Muncie of Campbellsville, Jerry is survived by one son and one daughter: Jeff Muncie and wife, Lee Ann, and Cheryl Harmon of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Janis Megan Harmon and Jeffrey David Muncie and wife, Lindsey of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Tatum Hoskins, Ava Muncie and Cale Muncie; one sister, Carlotta Richardson and husband, Jim of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Danny Muncie.

Mrs. Alta Bertine Griffith of Campbellsville was born on July 26, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Clyde and Agned (Hill) Fenner. She departed this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 77 years of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Griffith was a retired supervisor of computer operations at the Kellogs factory in Michigan. She enjoyed playing bingo, and loved to bake for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Two sons: Steve Ball and fiancé Joetta Gossett of Nancy, KY, and Tony Ball of Athens, MI,
Four grandchildren: Elisha Rhodes and husband Nathan, Steven Ball, Jr., Ashley Long and finace Ronnie Herrst, and Anthony Ball,

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Stevens and Annamae Buell.

Audra Harmon Riggs of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Buford Harmon and Clemmie Wise Harmon, was born October 11, 1936 in Marion County, Kentucky. She died at 2:18 A.M., Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.
Audra was a retired employee of the Campbellsville School System, where she spent many years working in the cafeteria. After retirement, she looked forward to her lunches with her former coworkers and friends. She also loved spending time with her special friend, Brenda Bright.
She united in marriage to Charles Richard “Ted” Newcome who preceded her in death in 1956 and she later united in marriage to Charles Riggs May 10, 1958 who also preceded her in death September 19, 2015.
Audra is survived by one son and two daughters: Wayne Newcome and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville, Sheila Bloyd of Lexington and Kim Mali of Nashville; eight grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Matthew Newcome and husband, Curtis of Ohio, Aaron Newcome and wife, Mary of Campbellsville, John Newcome of Louisville, Sarah Pender and husband, Dillon of Glasgow, Miranda Holmes and husband, John of Pennsylvania, Christian Jones and husband, Blake of Garrad County, Jack Mali and Sam Mali of Nashville; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Harmon of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Harmon.

Delores Ann Brawner, age 84 of Campbellsville, KY, was born January 21, 1938 in Springfield, Illinois and departed this life on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at her home.
She enjoyed reading and working puzzles after becoming disabled.
She united in marriage to Wayne Brawner, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was a son: Jay Mercer.
Delores is survived by a two sons: Bill Mercer of Arizona and Joe Schmidt of Illinois; a daughter-in-law and caregiver: Amber Mercer of Campbellsville; two sisters: Judy Denton and Shirley Rexroad-Jones, both of Illinois.
Also surviving are five grandchildren: Noah Mercer, Lindsey Schmidt, Bryce Savage, Ford Mercer and Azura Mercer; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Vernon and Sue Brawner and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Beechel Clark of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Sylvester Sluder and Lettie Mae Cox Sluder, was born January 26, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:15 A.M., Tuesday, April 26, 2022 in Campbellsville. Age: 83
Beechel professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
She was a homemaker and had babysat for numerous children, most of whom still called her “Mammy.” Beechel loved gospel and country music and visiting family, especially her grandbabies. She always had a smile for you and was best known for her punchbowl cake.
She united in marriage to Leslie Clark February 7, 1959 and he preceded her in death August 11, 2015.
She is survived by one son and one daughter: Ronald Clark and wife, Rose Ann and Sharon Read and husband, John of Campbellsville; six grandchildren: Jessica Clark, Leslie Ann Clark, Jamie Tuliano, Timmy Nelson, Rebecca Nelson and Sarah Hedgespeth; three great-grandchildren: Jaxon Clark, Jaz Bright and Jagger Bright; eight step-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Lillie Shirrell, Linda Newton and husband, Michael, Helen Claywell and husband, Gary and Jane Dudgeon of Campbellsville;
several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
