John Taylor Hubbard of Lexington, son of the late Steven Glen Hubbard and Peggy Leigh Taylor Hubbard, was born March 8, 1982, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 12:45 P.M., Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Lexington. Age: 39
John worked in industrial automation and most recently was employed by Air Hydro Power in Lexington.
John had a special gift for seeing people in need and finding a practical way to help. John generously gave his time and talents for the benefit of his family, friends and neighbors. Whether he was playing handyman, babysitter or gourmet chef, he was always thinking of others. John was well loved and will be dearly missed.
John is survived by his brother, William Hubbard and wife, Tandy of Lexington and his sister, Molly Pepper and husband, Tyler of Bloomington, Indiana; four very special nieces and nephews: Taylor Kate Hubbard, Mills Hubbard, Allison Pepper and Brier Pepper.

SARAH M. ALLEN OBITUARY

Sarah Matt (Perkins) Allen, 91, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Gobel Perkins and Ivy Lewis Milby Perkins, was born September 1st, 1930, in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, at her son’s home in Indiana.

She professed her faith in Christ and was of Baptist Faith.  Sarah was a homemaker most of her life and she loved to quilt, gardening, and her flowers.

She united in marriage to John Elmer Allen on December 23rd, 1947, and he preceded her in death on September 15th, 2004.

Survived by nine children:  Betty Emerson and her husband, Wayne, of Campbellsville; James Allen of Indiana; Bob Allen and his wife, Virginia of Indiana; Dean Allen and his wife Tracy, of Leitchfield; Rebecca Emery and her husband, Ron Polston, of Arizona; Tonda Cooper and her husband, Dean Fricke, of Indiana; Danny Allen of Indiana; Brenda Allen and her husband, Rick Branch, of Indiana; and Phyllis Lee and her husband, Bryan, Indiana.

Twenty-four grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.

Three sisters:  Betty Sue Dotson of Hodgenville; Louise Murphy of Hodgenville; and Zelda Perkins of Magnolia.

One sister-in-law:  Maryola Perkins of Campbellsville.

Besides her parents and her husband, Sarah is preceded in death by:

One daughter: Rita Allen

One son:  Elmer Allen

One grandson:  Russell Emerson (1983)

Three sisters and seven brothers.

Ms. Rebecca Renee Brown of Campbellsville passed from this life on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at her home. Born in Mendota, Illinois on October 14, 1975, she was 45 years, 11 months, and 19 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Brown was an employee of Bluegrass Way. She was a talented artist, a cherished mother, daughter, and sister, and an exceptional friend to many.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Her mother: Benita J. and Alan “Pops” Cheshire of Hodgenville,

Her fiance: Donnie Wright of Columbia,

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Ms. Brown on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:00 PM EDT (12:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Roley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 7, after 10:00 AM EDT (9:00 AM CDT) until time for the service.

Charles David Wright, Jr., the son of Charles David Wright, Sr. and the late Pamela Ann (Williams) Pittman, was born March 28, 1967 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Campbellsville. He was 54 years of age.
He was of the Catholic Faith and loved spending time with his family.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother: James E. Pittman; his step-dad: Clellan Pittman and a grandchild: Hunter Wayne Hedgespeth.
He is survived by his father: Charles David Wright, Sr. of Lebanon; a daughter: Sarah Ann Hedgespeth and husband David of Columbia; four sisters: Donna Gail Brown of Upton, Becky Buckman and fiancé: Shawn Hilbert of Shepherdsville, Jessie Mattingly of Danville and Chasity Wright of Lebanon; two brothers: Mikey Thomas of Lebanon and Stevie Pittman of Campbelsville; two grandchildren: Jacob Allen Hedgespeth and Ensley Rose Hedgespeth and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ed Bush

Ed Bush of Campbellsville, son of the late Ossie Dean Bush and Maureen Slinker Bush, was born September 9, 1938, in Green County, Kentucky.  He died at 9:00 A.M., Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Campbellsville.    Age: 83
He professed faith in Christ and was a member and deacon of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a Veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Ed worked as a typesetter for the Greensburg Record Herald, the Lexington Herald Leader and the Bardstown local paper. From there, he began working at Taylor County Rural Electric Cooperative in Campbellsville as a Warehouse Manager for 22 years before retiring.
Ed then devoted a great deal of his time operating the family farm in Mannsville. For relaxation, he loved to fish and hunt, especially when his grandchildren joined him.    
He united in marriage to Lula Rouse December 11, 1965.     
Besides his wife, Lula Bush of Campbellsville, he is survived by a son, Greg Bush and wife, Lorna; a grandson, Tyler Aaron Bush and a granddaughter, Molly Sue Bush of Campbellsville; and one brother, Doyle Bush of Greensburg.

William Earl Knuckles, the son of the late Elmer and Lula Mae

(Mings) Knuckles, was born November 16, 1962 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 58 years of age.

He was a locksmith for over 38 years. It was quoted “William Earl’s phone number is probably saved in more phone contacts than any elected official”

He is survived by his wife: His wife: Vicky (Gordon) Knuckles of Campbellsville; his sisters-in-law: Gail Richards and husband Kenneth of Hustonville; his brothers-in-law: Randy Gordon and wife Nina of Danville, Terry Gordon and wife Sue and Jimmy Gordon all of Campbellsville and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for William Earl Knuckles will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow in the Chappel Cemetery at Knifley.

Tommy Shirrell, 72

Mr. Tommy Shirrell of Campbellsville was born in Adair County on July 18, 1949 to the late William “Billcat” and Lenora (Wright) Shirrell. He departed this life on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Taylor Regional Hospital, being 72 years, 2 months, and 13 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended New Journey Church. He was a 32 year employee of Fruit of the Loom, a manager at Save-A-Lot Foodmart, and a well-regarded home builder. After retirement, he was a driver for local car lots, moving vehicles to and from sale locations.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Lillie Mae (Corbin) Shirrell in 2011.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

He was also preceded in death by six siblings: Johnny Shirrell, Jerry Shirrell, Eugene Shirrell, Kathleen Bishop, Judy Dicken, and Sue Powell.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Shirrell on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Burial will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Rose Wright of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jessie Walls and Eunice Goff Walls, was born October 30, 1929 in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 11:33 P.M.., Friday, October 1, 2021 in Greensburg.       Age: 91
She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Rose was a retired switchboard operator for GTE where she served for 41 years.
She united in marriage to Clelland Wright July 29, 1950.
Besides her husband, Clelland Wright of Campbellsville, she is survived by one daughter, Gayle Skaggs and husband, Jerry of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Adrienne Hash and husband, Griffin of Campbellsville, Scott Davis of Willisburg, and Brandee Flick and husband, Alex of Georgetown, Indiana; four great-grandchildren: Gracyne Hash, Seth Hash, Ivan Flick, and Charlotte Flick; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Rose was also preceded in death by a son, Frankie Wright in infancy, and four brothers: Ernest Lee Walls, Dennis Walls, Lloyd Walls, and Jimmy Walls.

Rosie Brady Roberts

Rosie Brady Roberts of Campbellsville, departed life on Friday October 1, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81.  Rosie was the daughter of the late Spencer Brady and Leota Buckman Brady and was born July 21, 1940 in Marion County, Kentucky.
Rosie’s infectious smile and quiet demeanor had a way of lighting up a room.  Her sincere concern and love for others always shined through.  Rosie had a special way of finding the best of every situation and bringing a peaceful presence wherever she went.
She professed her faith in Christ and was a loyal member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church since the 1960’s.
Rosie took great pride in raising her three beautiful children, but also impacted so many young lives in the community over the years.  For several years she kept children in the home before she was a Teacher’s Assistant at Campbellsville Elementary.
While spending time with family and friends she loved playing cards and bowling, but most importantly loved that time to make memories.
She united in marriage with Neil Roberts Jr., September 26, 1964. He preceded her in death February 4, 2007.
Rosie is survived by two children: Brian Roberts and wife, Melissa of Wilson North Carolina and Debbie Roberts of Campbellsville; one grandchild, Sabrina Roberts of Wilson, North Carolina; three brothers and three sisters: B.J. Brady and Jamie Brady of Campbellsville, Donnie Brady of Louisville, Carolyn Hardesty and Kathy Brady of Lebanon, and Joyce Keeling of Louisville; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Roberts, one brother and one sister, Tommy Brady and Helen Leake.
