Stephen Lanier Bower, M.D.

Stephen Lanier Bower, M.D. of Campbellsville, was welcomed into glorious eternity in Christ July 1, 2021. Born in Los Angeles, California on October 14, 1942, the only son of the late Richard Lanier Bower and Marty Corbett Bower. He was 78.
He is survived by his wife, Karla Lacy Bower, whom he married October 26, 1969; one son and three daughters: Brett Bower of Campbellsville, Heather Bower of Asheville, North Carolina, Sharalee Taylor and husband, DeWayne of Louisville and Shelley Peterson and husband, Cody of Bend, Oregon; five grandchildren: Dylan Fisher, Gabrielle Fisher, Ezekiel Taylor, Samuel Taylor and Clara Peterson; a special Aunt, Becky Mann of Louisville and other close relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Strephon Nathaniel Bower.
He was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church and lived to know and follow Christ more each day.
He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School and the University Of Kentucky College Of Internal Medicine. For many years, he practiced internal medicine and pulmonary care in Campbellsville prior to his work for Healthcare Review Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky.
A few of his enjoyments were spending time with his family, radio programs, teaching Bible study and research, as well as also spending time on his land in the country.
Stephen will be remembered most for his gentle-natured kindness, his humility and character, his love and genuine attentiveness unto others and his beautiful mind.

WAYNE ALAN HAMMOND OBITUARY

Wayne Alan Hammond, 55 years old, of Campbellsville, son of Jane Ann (Ritchey) Hammond of Campbellsville and the late Marion Hammond, Jr., was born February 2nd, 1966, in Fayette County and departed this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 2nd, 2021, at his home in Campbellsville.

He professed his faith in Christ and was of Baptist faith.  Wayne had a passion for nature and loved hiking and camping.  He had a skill for woodworking and made many projects in his spare time.

Survived by his mother:  Jane Ann (Ritchey) Hammond of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Two sisters:  Monica Hammond of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Jennifer Berry and her husband, Chad of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Three nieces:  Samantha Berry of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Cyan Berry and significant other, Jeremy Steward of Campbellsville, Kentucky; and Sumara Berry of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

One great-nephew and one great-niece:  Elliott Berry and Lirra Berry, both of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Along with a host of other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.  Auberry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mental Health Awareness and can be made at the funeral home.

Silas David Pickett, 62 years old, of London, Kentucky, son of the late Robert Sanders Pickett and Maxine (Waddell) Pickett was born November 27th, 1958, in Jefferson County and departed this life at Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, Kentucky, on Thursday, July 1st, 2021.

Survived by one brother:  Robert Clayton Pickett of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Caregiver:  Amber Nicole Queener of London, Kentucky.

Mrs. Bertha Marie (Cox) Sluder of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Vance Lee and Ida (Sluder) Cox, was born in Taylor County on June 13, 1942. She passed peacefully from this life on Friday, July 2, 2021, in Campbellsville being 79 years of age.

She was a former employee of Huber’s Restaurant and The Old Brown Jersey, and was a cherished mother and grandmother.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

Six children: Joy Atwood Helm, James Edward Atwood, Jr. and wife Stephanie, all of Campbellsville, Jerry Atwood of Elk Horn, and Roger Atwood, Theresa Atwood, and Waylon Atwood and fiancé Rochelle Stallard, all of Campbellsville,

Two siblings: Joyce Mings and Louise Arnett, both of Campbellsville,

Ten grandchildren: Cody Helm, Leeann Helm, Kevin Helm, Colby Atwood, Jamie Atwood, Jenny Atwood, Chase Atwood, Tasha Gribbins, Dylan Gribbins, and Jonathan Wiser,

Eight great-grandchildren: Cheyanna, Tyler, Shelby, Paisley, Mitchy Landon, Jordan, Peyton, Jackson, Carlrigh, and Anna Lee,

Three great-great grandchildren: Kayden, Kynslee, and Gentree,

And a host of other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by five siblings: Ralph David Cox, Vance Lee Cox, Jr., Phillip Cox, Albert Cox, and Josephine Cox.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Bertha Marie Sluder on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Harden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 7, after 2:00 PM until time for the service.

Maurice Lee Graham, 77

Mr. Maurice Lee Graham was born on September 25, 1943 in Taylor County to the late James Robert “Bob” and Frances (Gupton) Graham. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at his home, being 77 years, 9 months, and 5 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Graham was a retired welder and mechanic, a sought-after horologist, and an employee of Splash Car Wash. He was the devoted husband to Mrs. Loudenia Gist, and together they shared 42 years of marriage. Mr. Graham’s friendly and approachable demeanor will be cherished many years after his passing.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

He professed faith in Christ and was a member Campbellsville Christian Church.
R.D. was a retired employee of Cowherds Construction and was a lifelong carpenter.
He enjoyed the outdoors and sports.
R. D. united in marriage to Carolyn Gabehart December 5, 1970 and she preceded him in death January 28, 2001.
He is survived by one son, Rongie Dicken and wife, Nicole of Campbellsville; one grandchild, Keeley Dicken; two step-children: Mark Pike and wife, Maria of Campbellsville and Kimberly Stillwell and husband, Raymond of Mt. Sherman; three step-grandchildren: Joshua Tedrow, Cody Stillwell and Andrew Pike; three brothers: Johnny Dicken, Jeff Dicken, and Richard Dicken and wife, Brenda of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Donald “Donnie” Clements, 65

Donald Ray “Donnie” Clements, the son of the late Herlan Smith and Betty Clements, was born July 5, 1956 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 in Louisville at the University Hospital. He was 65 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Victory Church in Campbellsville.

Donnie, as he was most known by, enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being outdoors, but most of all, his grandchildren.

He united in marriage to Amanda (Parker) Clements, who preceded him in death in 2017.

He is survived by a daughter: Monica Antle and husband Jason of Mannsville; five sisters: Peggy Newton and Carol Gathof and husband Rick all of Louisville, Lois Brown of Campbellsville, Gail Blankenship and husband Jimmy of Greensburg and Linda Barnett of Alabama; two brothers: John Michael Smith and companion Shannon Pryor of Louisville and Billy Smith and wife Carla of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Christopher Benningfield and fiancé Alee Bush and Manda-Lynn Benningfield and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral service for Donald Ray “Donnie” Clements will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Audrey Oneada Jones, the daughter of the late Vertie Willie and Annie Ethel (Curry) White, was born, August 7, 1935 in Taylor County and departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital. She was 85 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the First Church of God in Campbellsville, where she sang in the choir. She was a former seamstress and auditor for Fruit of the Loom and enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, shopping, and singing.

She united in marriage to Johnnie Jones, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son: Joey Jones and wife Tracy of Elk Horn; five sisters and a brother: Nelda Berry and husband James, Ola Davis, Harold White and wife Susan, Arlene Hunt and Judy Bright and husband Alvin, all of Campbellsville, Carol Davis and husband Larry of Elk Horn; three sisters-in-law: Geneva Jones, Roselene Jones and Jewell Jones; two brothers-in-law: Tim Jones and wife Kelly and Charlie Jones and wife Cheryl and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers: Hilda Parker, James White and Guy White.

The funeral service for Audrey Oneada Jones, will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 – 11:00 A.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Mrs. Monica Lynn Martin of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green following an extended illness. Born on June 27, 1985 to Emma (Persinger) Perez and the late Ernesto Gonzalez, she was 35 years, 11 months, and 30 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Christian faith. She was a caring and compassionate lady, and regularly opened her heart and home. Her hospitality, love, and kind-hearted spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Timmy Webb of Elk Horn, son of the late Roy Allen Webb and Jewell Garrett Webb, was born September 14, 1958 in Marion County, Kentucky. He died at 7:26 P.M., Sunday, June 27 2021 in Louisville. Age: 62
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.
Timmy was a former construction worker.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Timmy loved his grandchildren and was a devoted husband and a loyal friend who humorously showed the kids and grandkids “what not to do” by his example.
He united in marriage to Linda Swallows July 29, 1989.
Besides his wife, Linda Webb of Elk Horn, Timmy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Deanna Webb of Elk Horn; three step-children: Donna Rakes and husband, Brian of Campbellsville, Andrea Williams of Russell County, and Tabatha Trigg of Bardstown; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother and six sisters: Kenny Webb, Karen Pulley and husband, Mike, Vickie Webb, Alicia Webb, Barbara Boils and husband, Gillis, and Sisie Bennett and husband, Eugene of Campbellsville, and Tracy Wright and husband, Kevin of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Timmy was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Roy Webb and Sharon Webb.
