 Stephen Lynn “Steve” Bastin of Cave City, the son of the late Marion Keith and Betty Frances (Houk) Bastin, was born March 29, 1955 in Barren County, KY and departed this life on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Horse Cave at the Caverna Medical Center. He was 66 years of age.
He was a farmer and of the Baptist Faith.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking, camping and reading.
He is survived by two sisters: Sandra Parsley and husband David of Cave City and Julie Taylor of Cub Run; two Aunts: Jean Bastin of Glasgow and Edith Bastin of Elizabethtown; his caregivers: Anita Bass of Sulphur Well and Thomas Bass of Hiseville and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cremation rites were entrusted to
L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville.
There will be no services at this time.

 Helen Thomas Smith of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jesse James Thomas and Pauline Wright Thomas, was born July 15, 1931 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 5:56 A.M., Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 89
She professed faith in Christ and was a life-long member of Spurlington United Methodist Church.
She united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Smith October 10, 1950 and he preceded her in death April 23, 2001.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Helen is survived by two sons: Gerald Smith and wife, Kittie and Barry Smith and wife, Kim of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Mike Smith and wife, Chasity, David Smith and wife, Vickie, Thomas Smith, Dwight Smith and wife, Natalie and Rylen Smith; nine great-grandchildren: Alex Smith, Aiden Smith, Adalyn Smith, Ava Smith, Brandon Cain, Gracie Smith, Ember Smith, Ryder Smith and Kristen Smith; one brother-in-law, Bobby Bennett; one sister-in-law, Virginia Smith; a special cousin, Sharon and Norman Feese and several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Kaye Thomas Bennett.

Lillie Rose Brown of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Lee Dalton and Prudy Campbell Dalton, was born September 6, 1941 in Wolfe County, Kentucky. She died at 7:38 P.M., Monday, May 31, 2021 in Lexington. Age: 79
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Botts Christian Church and also attended Salem Baptist Church. Lillie was a true servant of God whose two most important priorities in life were her relationship with God and family. Music always brought her joy.
She united in marriage to Ernest Harris who preceded her in death and she later united in marriage to Paul G. Brown who also preceded her in death.
Lillie is survived by one daughter and three sons: Sharion Abney and husband, Jeffrey of Campbellsville, Eddie Harris and wife, Vanessa of Frenchburg, Roger Harris and significant other, Brenda Hudson of Deep River, Iowa, Jessie Brown and wife, Angela of Morehead; step-son, John Zekausky of Louisville; nine grandchildren: Clinton Abney and wife, Keisha, Anthony Abney and Wife, Bri and Jake Harris and wife, Baylee of Frenchburg, Kirsten Harris of Frenchburg, Graciela Vanover, Abby Brown and J.M. Joel Allen Gaddis of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Campbellsville, Kentucky, was born June 6, 1988. He passed from this earth on May 26, 2021
at the age of 32.
Joel is survived by his parents, Allen and Tonia Gaddis and children, Jenny, June, Jaxon and Jessa; his grandparents, Betty and Kevin Johns of Smiths Grove, Kentucky and Linda Boston and Ann Gaddis of Campbellsville, Kentucky; his aunt and uncle, Sherry and Larry Bowen of Campbellsville, Kentucky; a cousin, Amelia Bowen of Campbellsville, Kentucky; another uncle, Travis Boston of Glasgow, Kentucky. Joel was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Herald Gaddis and D. K. “Bud” Boston and his uncle, Terry Boston. Additionally, Joel is survived by a number of friends and extended family.
Joel enjoyed playing drums, had a great knack and interest in computers and had a keen wit. He liked to fish and hunt in his younger years. He could often be found helping others and was always showing compassion for those struggling with life. His kind and warm heart and great hugs will forever be missed.
The family will receive those wishing to honor and remember Joel’s life from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Lois Virginia Richerson Hayes, 83, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Tommy Henry and Lena K. (Jarboe) Richerson was born on March 25th, 1938, at home on Kindness Road in Campbellsville, Kentucky, and departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital.
She professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom. Lois loved her flowers, baking, quilting, and shopping at the Goodwill.
Lois united in marriage to Sam Willie Hayes, Jr., on May 28th, 1955, and preceded her in death on June 26th, 2016.
Survived by two sons: Ronnie Hayes and wife Tina Costella. Robbie and wife Carol Hayes, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Three grandchildren: Michael and wife Samantha Hayes; Brian and wife Macy Hayes; and Samantha Hayes, all of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
Two great-granddaughters: Raegan and Kenady Hayes of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
One great-grandson: Jack Wyatt Hayes of Campbellsville, Kentucky.
A special former daughter-in-law: Debbie Myers and husband Timmy.
One brother: Thomas Glenwood Richerson and wife Linda.
Along with many other family, friends, and relatives.
Besides her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Rev. Bobby Richerson and Martha Jane Richerson.
VISITATION: A walk-through visitation will be held Friday, June 4th, 2021, from 11am – 1pm EST at Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Campbellsville.

Carl Dobson of Campbellsville, Kentucky, son of the late Vernie Dobson and Lillie Mae Webb Dobson was born on March 7, 1939 in LaRue County, Kentucky. He died at 3:23 A.M., Sunday, May 30, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 82
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Carl was a retired Police Officer of thirty six years, having also served the role of a former firefighter and court deputy.
Carl united in marriage to Sharon Hinton Dobson April 11, 1976 and she preceded him in death February 19, 2013.
He is survived by five children: Barry Dobson and wife, Michelle of Campbellsville, Doug Dobson and wife, Brenda of Lebanon, Janet Hilbert and husband, Dennis of Bardstown, Ronnie Dobson and wife, Becky of Hustonville, and Sharon Hilbert and husband, Mark of Louisville; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; one brother, Howard Dobson, Sr., and wife, Corine of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Carl was also preceded in death by a brother, Raymond “June” Dobson.

 Ms. Dale McKinney Furkin of Campbellsville passed from this life on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at her home. Born on October 9, 1946 in Marion County to the late Garland McKinney and Anna (Mays) Muckler, she was 74 years, 7 months, and 20 days of age. Ms. Furkin was a lifetime educator. In 1967, she graduated from Campbellsville College with a bachelor’s degree, and later, earned her Master’s degree and Rank I credentials from Western Kentucky University. She was a public educator over forty years, an adjunct professor for St. Catharine’s College, Lindsey Wilson College, and Western Kentucky University, and a full-time professor at Campbellsville University until the time of her passing. She lived, both professionally and personally, to a set of high moral standards, believing always in her student’s abilities, and forever exhorting all to reach their full potential.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
One son: Judd Furkin and wife Amanda of Campbellsville,
Two brothers: Brad McKinney of Telford, TN, and Michael McKinney of Burlington, KY,
Her in-laws: Lanny and Patricia Forbis of Campbellsville,
A lifelong friend: Billie Ann Arnold of Johnson City, TN,
A chosen daughter: Karis McMahan,
Her beloved furbabies: Willy and Otis,
And a host of other relatives and friends.
Always one to look ahead and rarely leaving things unfinished, Ms. Furkin had made her final plans known to her family. She had requested cremation and asked that her ashes be interred in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Those arrangements were entrusted to the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service. All services were performed privately.

 Ms. Linda Sue Wade of Campbellsville passed peacefully from this life on Friday, May 28 at the University of Louisville Hospital. Born on September 29, 1949, she was 71 years, 7 months, and 29 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Campbellsville. She was a retiree of Fruit of the Loom, and a beloved mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory:
Three children: Lisa Locke and husband Mitch of Campbellsville, Darren Wade and wife Lisa of Campbellsville, and Jason Pendragon and wife Amanda of Cecilia,
A sister: Jean Underwood of Campbellsville,

Naomi Korine Whitley of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ola Boston and Bernice Hood Boston, was born January 9, 1934 in Hart County, Kentucky. She died at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Campbellsville. Age: 87
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. She was currently attending Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church with her son.
She was an employee of Fruit of the Loom for fifteen years and at the age of 50, went back to school and became a laboratory technician and worked as a lab tech at Taylor Regional Hospital for fifteen years.
She united in marriage to Howard Whitley January 21, 1949 and he preceded her in death April 2, 2010.
She loved the Lord, her family and enjoyed her many flower gardens.
Korine is survived by two sons: Greg Whitley and wife, Gayle of Campbellsville, Todd Whitley and wife, Trisha of Abita Springs, Louisiana, and a daughter-in-law Diane Whitley of Campbellsville. She is survived by six grandchildren: Ginny Scott and husband, Clint, Megan Wilcher and husband, John and John Whitley and wife Kayla, Rebecca Whitley; Melissa Hunter and Zachary T. Whitley; fifteen great-grandchildren: Tyler Scott, Summer Scott, Levi Scott, Abigayle Wilcher, Carter Wilcher, Jase Wilcher, Luke Wilcher, Noah Whitley, Kynleigh Whitley, Lyla Whitley, Lilly Rose Whitley, Beatrice Lockhart, Micah Hunter, Asher Hunter and Nate Hunter; one brother and one sister: Robert Boston of Campbellsville and Kodelia Swears of Mt. Washington; one sister-in-law, Linda Boston of Campbellsville; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends; Special caregivers, Mary Bustinza, Betty Hoosier and Diane Whitley.

Herald Gaddis of Campbellsville, son of the late Clarence “Jake” Gaddis and Gracie Ann Gaddis, was born November 3, 1942 in Taylor County Kentucky. He departed this life at 3:45 AM Wednesday, May 26, 2021 in Louisville. Age: 78
Herald grew up on Gaddis Ridge in Taylor County and spent his younger years on the family farm. He was a jack of many trades including carpentry, electrician, heavy equipment operator, small engine repair, construction, farming, entrepreneur, and real estate developer.
He took great pride in his lawn, his landscaping and his garden. To ensure the best results, he sources his landscaping materials from reputable suppliers. The last few years, he grew lots of garden plants from seed and supplied plant sets to the entire family. He and Ann loved to ride their Honda Goldwing Trike with friends and have many great trips and miles of memories under their belt. Hunting and fishing were also beloved past times and as soon as a couple weeks ago was planning his next fishing expedition with one of his fishing buddies.
He was a proud member of Stoner Creek Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he took great pride in his family and was quick to offer a helping hand to those in need. He believed life was for living, not watching, and he squeezed every ounce of life out of his 78 years, 6 months and 23 days. He would encourage you to do the same.
He united in marriage to Laura “Ann” Cox on October 16, 2001.
Besides his wife, Laura “Ann” Gaddis of Campbellsville, he leaves to honor his memory one son and daughter in law, Allen Gaddis & Tonia and one daughter and son in law, Sherry Bowen & Larry. His legacy includes six Grandchildren: Jessa, Jaxon, June, Jenny and Joel Gaddis and Amelia Bowen as well as step children Gerald Benningfield and Kerri and Tammy Benningfield Cox, three step grand children, Caleb Benningfield, Austin Benningfield and Cole Gribbins and one step great grandchild, Carter Gribbins.
The family will receive friends and family 10:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M., Saturday May 29, 2021, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home and we will all celebrate Herald’s life at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. John Hall officiating. Entombment will be in Brookside Mausoleum.
