Alice Martin, 93

Alice Cary Martin of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late Walter Scott “W.S.” and Ida (Butcher) Wade, was born September 23, 1927 in Russell County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Village of Lebanon. She was 93 years of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Alice enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with the local homemakers club, crossword puzzles and bowling.

Survivors include her husband: Howard Thomas Martin of Campbellsville; four children: Craig Martin and wife Renee of Lexington, Kaye Jones and husband Mike of Louisville, Scott Martin and wife Marilyn and Suzanne Wright and husband Eddie all of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren: Shannon Lyman, Lauren (Rob) Poullos, Chad (Sallee) Jones, Jill (Travis) Wall, Courtney (Caleb) Davis, Jaclyn Martin and Kyle (Brittany) Martin; eleven great-grandchildren: Alec Lyman, Mason Lyman, Trenton Poullos, Giana Poullos, Mollie Wall, Eli Wall, Noah Wall, Elliot Davis, Theo Davis, Karlee Rakel, Rendyn Martin and one expectant.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters: Wilbur Wade, Wilmoth Wilkinson and Bonnie Waggoner.

All services will be private with burial in the Brookside Cemetery.

Janet L. Murley of Campbellsville, the daughter of the late William Charles “Charlie” and Norma Ann (Clark) Cissell, was born, April 5, 1954 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Saturday, December 26, 2020 in Louisville at the University Hospital. She was 66 years of age.

Janet was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith.

She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, her family and special TV programs.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Laeticia Ann Stubbs.

Survivors include: her husband: Walter Ronald Murley; a son: Shane Murley; two brothers: Timothy Cissell and wife Sandra and Todd Cissell and wife Libby all of Campbellsville; a sister: A sister: Pamela Wethington and husband Stanley of Columbia; one grandchild: Kaleigh Murley; one great-grandchild: Josiah Walter Ray Wilson and a host of other relatives and friends.

All services will be private with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery.

Juanita Perkins of Campbellsville daughter of the late Alvin Roscoe Pierce and Mattie Ermine Brewer Pierce was born March 10, 1940 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 5:02 A.M., Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 80
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
Juanita retired from Fruit of the Loom after some thirty years of service.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by four daughters: Jeannie Gail Davis and husband, Tim and Sandra Dickens of Campbellsville, Elizabeth Carol Beard of Summersville and Donna Geneva Hash of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Joey Hunt and wife, Amey, Landon Morgan, Tamara Tims and husband, Dan, Samara Bell and Devin Lori of Campbellsville; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister Louise Manasco of Campbellsville; one brother, Kenny Pierce and wife, Shirley of Greensburg several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers: Geneva Hunt, Gene Pierce, Paul Pierce and Ed Pierce and one sister and two brothers in infancy.

Floyd Lee Bryant

Floyd Lee Bryant of Campbellsville, son of the late Henry Bryant and Gertrude Cravens Bryant, was born July 4, 1939 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 3:30 P.M., Thursday, December 24, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a former song leader.
He united in marriage to Etha Phillips October 18, 1958 and she preceded him in death January 22, 1994. He later united in marriage to Barbara Sue Rash April 22, 1995.
Floyd honorably served in the United States Navy. He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom, was very artistic and could draw anything. He also loved camping.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Bryant of Campbellsville; one daughter and son: Karen Reynolds and husband, Chris of Campbellsville, Tim Bryant and wife, Lisa of Peachland, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Sarah Reynolds Sayers and husband, David of Bethesda, Maryland, Emily Reynolds Bonner and husband, Tony of Lexington, Hannah Reynolds of Lexington, Tabetha Bryant of Fairfax, Virginia, Jonathan Bryant of Kannapolis, North Carolina, Jacob Bryant and wife, Lindsay of Peachland, North Carolina; four great-grandchildren: Reynolds Bonner, Eliza Sayers, Mason Bryant and Riley Mae Bryant; one sister, Louise Corbin of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters: Milton Bryant, Gilbert Bryant, Bud Bryant, Woodrow Bryant, Coy Bryant, Allene Kinney, Bertha Bryant and Magdalene Montgomery and a special nephew, David Corbin.

Johnnie Abell of Campbellsville, son of the late Eugene E. Abell and Lucia Ray Mann Abell, was born June 2, 1929 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 2:05 P.M., Monday, December 21, 2020 in Campbellsville. Age: 91
He was a retired foreman of Hoosier Concrete Company and a retired farmer. Johnnie professed faith in Christ and attended Elk Horn United Methodist Church. He brought joy and happiness to family, friends and community alike, being best known for his caring, loving and generous heart.
Johnnie united in marriage to Onia Hoosier Goode April 3, 1964.
Besides his wife, Onia Abell of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and three daughters: Regena Russell and husband, Richard, and Brenda Callahan of Campbellsville, John Abell and wife Renee of Columbia, Cathy Kingdollar of Tennessee and Ernie Abell; one daughter-in-law, Lawanna Abell of Campbellsville; four grandchildren: Lisa Pyles of Shelbyville, Benjamin Callahan, Amanda Kelley and husband, Josh and Willie Abell of Campbellsville; four great-grandchildren: Ethan Kelley, Isaac Abell, Maley Abell and Lacee Pyles; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law: Bradley Hoosier and Zelma Lotter of Campbellsville; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Janet professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Janet united in marriage to Raymond Wood June 5, 1981.
Besides her husband, Raymond Wood of Campbellsville, she is survived by two daughters: Natalie Wood and Amber Wood, both of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Kolton Railley, Konnar Railley and Karley Railley; four sisters and two brothers: Pauline Smith of Evansville, Indiana, Linda Scott and husband, Jimmy, Shirley Lockard and Gordon Giles and wife, Elaine of Louisville, Barbara Burton and husband, Jeff of Shepherdsville and Jerry Giles and wife, Janie of Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

Nannie Maxine Tedder Knifley

Nannie Maxine Tedder Knifley

Nannie Maxine Tedder Knifley, 92, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Silas Tedder and Nettie (Hamm) Tedder was born in Adair County on September 27th, 1928, and departed this life on December 18th, 2020, at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Nannie professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.  She was a retired Fruit of the Loom employee but being a homemaker was her passion.  Nannie enjoyed and loved to cook for her family.  Nannie loved to garden and read in her spare time.

She united in marriage to Ewing Knifley on August 28th, 1948, who preceded her in death on December 29th, 2008.

Survived by one daughter and two sons; Peggy Lawson and her husband J.C. of Campbellsville; Kelly Knifley and wife Jenny of Tennessee; and Carl Knifley and wife Cherie of Louisville.

Survived by six grandchildren:  Adam Lawson and wife Gretchen of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Andrew Knifley and wife Riley of Springfield, Tennessee; Stephanie Gibson and husband Kenton of Campbellsville; Elizabeth Cobban and husband Bryan of Louisville; Alicia Peveler and husband Tracy of Breman, Kentucky; and Tim Wilkins of Cedar Hill, Tennessee.

Survived by one sister and two brothers: Mary Ann Talbot of Indiana; Troy Tedder and wife Beverly of Indiana; and Roy Tedder and wife Laurene of Campbellsville.

Survived by three sister-in-law’s and one brother-in-law: Janet Tedder of Indiana; Gertrude Tedder of Casey Creek; Helen Knifley of Ohio; and Herman Seaborne of Indiana.

Besides her parents and her husband, Nannie was also preceded in death by six sisters and one brother.

All services will be held privately and are being held at Auberry Funeral Home and Cremation Services in downtown Campbellsville.  Bro. Evan Tedder and Bro. Brent Gupton will be officiating the service for Mrs. Nannie Maxine Tedder Knifley.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Gideon Bibles which can be made at the funeral home.

Social distancing guidelines and mask are required upon entering building.

Mrs. Toni Genice Woody-Fisher of Campbellsville passed from this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the University of Louisville Hospital after an extended illness. Born on April 10, 1971 to Betty (Brock) and the late Gerald Delmar Woody, she was 49 years, 8 months, and 9 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Woody was a former store manager at T Mart and loved to spend her free time around a bonfire with friends and family.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Fisher on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Cremation will be accorded her after the service. Bro. Earl Rogers will be officiating.

Duril Gene Bell, of Campbellsville, the son of Cherry Thomas (Nuckols) Gore and the late Russell Bell, was born November 5, 1971 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Lebanon at the Springview Hospital. He was 49 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springfield. He was a former Sanitation worker for Rumke in Elizabethtown.

Duril loved watching and playing basketball, and was an avid University of Louisville fan, he enjoyed singing, acting goofy and loved the Lord.

Survivors include six children: Latoya Smith, Christopher Smith, Danielle Smith, Zeek Bell and Carter Bell all of Campbellsville and McKenzie Bell of Lexington; eight brothers and sisters: Kathy Slaughters and Ronnie Bell of Glasgow, Marjorie Gore of Elizabethtown, Ricky Bell and Molly Tate of Kansas, Walter Bell of Nicholasville, Irvin Bell and Anthony Bell both of Campbellsville; 4 grandchildren: Latayvion Brown, Harmony Brown, KamMarrion Frazier, Jonathan Hart, Jr.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Wendell and Mack Odell Bell.

The funeral service for Duril Gene Bell will be Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pleasant Run Cemetery in Green County. Rev. Gene Livers will be officiating.

Mr. James David Wilhoit of Campbellsville passed from this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home after an illness. Born on June 19, 1996 to Connie (Warren) and the late James Douglas Wilhoit, he was 24 years and 6 months of age. He had made a profession of faith in Chris and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church. David’s life was life fraught with debilitating illnesses, yet he rarely complained. Instead, he loved to spend time with his family, and was often pulling practical jokes on them and his friends. He enjoyed listening to music and trading guns and trucks, and was a competitive online gamer.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
