Wendell Hitch, 54

Hitch PICMr. Wendell Jackson Hitch of Campbellsville was born on Wednesday, January 3, 1962 to William Jackson and Maxine (McCubbins) Hitch. He departed this life on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Taylor Regional Hospital as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was 54 years, 5 months, and 8 days of age. Mr. Hitch professed faith in Christ and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Campbellsville. He was a respected and talented auto body repairman, and worked at Johnson Motors in Campbellsville. Mr. Hitch loved all things mechanical, and was always tinkering with old cars and bikes. He enjoyed attending car shows, and built some unique rat rods.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

His wife of thirty years: Gail (Clark) Hitch,

Three children: Miranda King and husband Wayne of Kokomo, IN, Wendy Hitch Dahlquist and husband Jerrit of Campbellsville, and Christopher Clark, also of Campbellsville,

Five siblings: Virginia Hitch Johnson of Columbia, Ricky Hitch of Campbellsville, Lisa Allen of Greensburg, Melissa Ann Rogers of Edmonton, and Tracey Hitch of Campbellsville,

Seven grandchildren,

One expected grandson,

A brother-in-law: Allen Clark of Campbellsville,

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Hitch on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. James Coffey will be officiating, with Frank Boils delivering the opening remarks. Interment will follow in the Elkhorn Cemetery, Elkhorn Loop Rd, Elk Horn, KY 42733.

Consuelo Yarbrough, 92

Yarbrough PicMrs. Consuelo Bajar Ragadon Yarbrough was born on Saturday, June 16, 1923 in the Philippines and departed this life on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at her home in Campbellsville. She was 92 years, 11 months, and 25 days of age. Mrs. Yarbrough became a citizen of the United States in the 1950’s and married the man she would forever love, the late LTC Lucien Bell Yarbrough. She was a seamstress and homemaker. Mrs. Yarbrough cherished her role as her family’s matriarch and was ever-present with true affection. She professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith.

She leaves to mourn her passing:

One daughter: Lee Whitney Yarbrough of Greensburg,

Two granddaughters: Laurissa Cornish and husband Jeffery Thomas of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Carla Billeter and husband William of Campbellsville, and their father, Joseph Cornish of St. Petersburg, Florida,

Five great-grandchildren: Hannah Cornish, Robert Billeter, Makenna Thomas, Isaac Billeter, and Kate Billeter,

Several extended family members in the Philippines,

And a host of other close friends and family.

Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one brother.

A public graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Yarbrough will be held at a later date in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA 22211, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Those times will be announced at a later date.

Richard “Ricky” Robison, age 61

Richard “Ricky” Robison, age 61, of Elk Horn died there on Thursday, June 9, 2016.

Ricky was born July 7, 1954 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late Richard “Wig” Robison and Bonnie Cox Robison who survives.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.  He was a graduate of the University of Louisville and held several advance technical certifications at Parker-Kalon where he worked for over 36 years.  He was a member of Elk Horn Masonic Lodge, an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He could play a number of musical instruments and wrote and performed several songs.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Herron Robison; his mother, Bonnie Cox Robison, of Campbellsville; a son, Roger Blankenship of Bowling Green, two grandsons, Isaac and Brody Blankenship; two sisters; Vivian Robison and Missy Jeffries and her husband, Travis of Campbellsville and a special caregiver, Robbie Kearney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Robert Paul “Bob” Rotschi, age 82

Robert Paul “Bob” Rotschi, age 82, of Campbellsville died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Golden Living Center Green Hill in Greensburg.

Bob was born in Queens, NY on July 24, 1933 to the late Emile and Mary K. Kinn Rotschi.  He served in the US Army infantry in Korea and Japan and was a member of the VFW and American Legion.  He was the founder and former Commander of the local DAV Chapter and originated the local observances of Memorial and Veteran Days.  A chef, he was a member of the Long Island Culinary Association.  His memberships also included Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Civil Service Employees Association of New York.  He was a Pigeon Fancier and Pigeon Monger and a member of the Louisville Pigeon Club.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Georgiana Huber Rotschi; a son, James Stillwell and a brother, Emile Rotschi.

He is survived by his daughters, Gail Allen and her husband, Paul and Nancy Foley, of Campbellsville and sons, Gary Rotschi and Gregory Graham, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; four grandchildren, Brandon (Tami) Stillwell, Stephen Goodwin, Elizabeth Goodwin Erwin and Kathleen Foley; 4 great-grandchildren, Emma Erwin, Jackson Erwin, Riley Stillwell and Kathleen Stillwell and extended family, Donald and Mary Conover and family.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are special friends, Richard Norby, Fred Henchen and Carl Slutz

Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13 with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Iris Pic Mrs. Iris Irene Estevez of Radcliff was born on September 8, 1924 in the Dominican Republic to the late Simeon “Pasito” Estevez and Maria Engracia Rodriguez. She departed this life on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Estevez was 91 years and 9 months of age. She professed faith in Christ and was of the Catholic faith. She was a retired teacher and seamstress, an excellent cook, and loved to volunteer for her church and family.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

One daughter and son-in-law: Iris Lucia Nolasco and Edwin Santiago,

Three siblings: Maria “Cocola” Socorro Estevez of the Dominican Republic, Mimerva Rodriguez of New York, and Rafael Rodriguez, also of New York,

Several grandchildren, including Laidy Abreu, Esteward Abreu, and Madelin Abreu,

Two great-grandchildren: Elian Abreu and Adriana Abreu,

And a host of other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Silvia Abreu, one brother, Rafael “Cuyo” Estevez, and a nephew, Usbaldo “QuiQue” Estevez.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Iris Irene Estevez on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 pm EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Cremation rites will be conducted after the service.

Christopher “Chris” Hovious, age 48

Chris Hovious, age 48, was born September 28, 1967 in Louisville, KY to David and Rachel Hovious.    He died in Louisville on June 6 after an illness.   He is the grandson of Daniel and Inez Cox and Howard and Vernon Hovious.

He is survived by his mother Rachel, two sisters and their husbands, Cynthia and Tim Hudgins and Ashley and Jason Cox of Campbellsville.    Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Jordann Hovious Cox, Connor Cox, Chance Hudgins, Taylor Hudgins and Kelsey Powell.

He was preceded in death by his father David Hovious, a niece, Beth Paige Herron and a great nephew Kingston Kline Cox.

Chris had made a profession of faith in Christ.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Collison officiating.  Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery.   Serving as pallbearers will be Chance Hudgins, Connor Cox, Robin Callahan, Greg Long, Jason Cox, Ricky Squires and Rusty Smith.

He departed this life on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg at the age of 55 years, 5 months, and 18 days of age. He was the owner and operator of a tractor trailer for several years. Mr. Workman professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

Elva Hopkins of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Nathan McCubbin and Vanda Marshall Foster McCubbin, was born October 9, 1921, in Green County. She died at 7:36 A.M., Monday, June 6, 2016 in Louisville.
Age: 94
She professed faith in Christ and was a long time, faithful member of Campbellsville Christian Church.
She was a retired employee of Parks Belk Department Store.
She united in marriage to Otis Hopkins October 22, 1944. He preceded her in death December 3, 1987.
She is survived by one brother and two sisters: Paul McCubbin and wife, Jane of Campbellsville, Betty Lou Smith and husband, Granville of Louisville and Barbara Rogers of Florida; several other nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters: Hugh McCubbin, Carl McCubbin, Elmer McCubbin, James McCubbin, Ray McCubbin, Claudine Rodgers and Jo Ann Caffee.
The family would like to thank the Fransicscan Healthcare Center staff for all of their loving care.

Lucian T. “Luke” Beard, age 84

Lucian T. (Luke) Beard, age 84, of Knifley, Kentucky died Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the T.J. Sampson Columbia Hospital after a sudden illness.

Lucian was born on June 25, 1931 in Adair County, Kentucky to the late John and Cora Mae Chelf Beard.   He was united in marriage to Beulah Dixon Beard who preceded him in death on May 25, 1988.   After serving in the Korean War he returned home and pursued his farming career until his retirement.  He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Knifley Christian Church.

Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Mae Beard, sisters, Shelly Beard and Christine Bailey and brothers Russell, Pete and Carl Beard.

He is survived by his current wife, Mamie L. Bloyd Beard, one son and two daughters and their spouses, Steve and Lisa Beard of Campbellsville, Juanita and Keith Young of Columbia and Peggy and David Gupton of Knifley. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jeff Young, Dustin Gupton, Kelly Jackson, Courtney Grant, Rylee Beard and Sydnee Beard, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Lucian T. (Luke) Beard will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Hugh Withers officiating.    Burial will follow in the Caldwell Ridge Cemetery in Knifley, Kentucky.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she was an active member of United Methodist Women and had served as a Sunday School Teacher for forty years.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of The Loom.
She united in marriage to Morris Cundiff December 25, 1948. He preceded her in death December 17, 2011.
