Lawrence Hunt of Campbellsville, son of the late Leonard Hunt and Effie Brockman Hunt, was born March 17, 1929, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 11:29 P.M., Sunday, June 21, 2015 in Lebanon.
He professed faith in Christ and attended God’s Friendship Chapel.
He was a retired employee of Taylor Regional Hospital
He united in marriage to Dorothy Richerson, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter and one son: Midge Hunt of Campbellsville and Gerald Hunt
and wife, Tillie of Lebanon; two step-children: Donnie Richerson and wife, Connie and Sandy Simpson and husband, Richard of Campbellsville; five grandchildren: Amanda Rice and husband, Billy, Andrea McDonald and husband, Clay, George Hunt and wife, Valerie, Derek Sidebottom and wife, Nickie and Nathan Hunt; seven great-grandchildren: Austin Cox, Lydia Sidebottom, Violet McDonald, Novalee Hunt, David Hunt, Raini Sidebottom and Raelyn Sidebottom; one great-great-granddaughter, Annabelle Sidebottom; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; special friend, Gusta Garrett of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.

Baumgardner PicMrs. Linda Baumgardner, age 74, of Campbellsville, passed away on Thursday in Campbellsville at the Taylor Regional Hospital.

Survivors include a son: David Timothy Baumgardner of Campbellsville.

A grandson: Anthony Baumgardner of Campbellsville.

A great-granddaughter: Anna Lillian Baumgardner of Winchester.

Six sisters: Norma Jean Whitley and Christine Sircy, both of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brenda Sapp, Terri Fain and Rhonda Cheatham, all of Campbellsville and Donna Watson of Elkhorn and a host of other relatives and friends survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Linda Baumgardner will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at the in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Family requests visitation from 5-8 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Puyear PicMr. Elbert “Pee Wee” Puyear, the son of the lateEd and Lula Shofner Puyear, was born May 25, 1939 in Marion County, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 76 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church, a farmer and a saw mill worker.
He united in marriage to Jewell (Thompson) Puyear, who survives. To this union were born two children: Judith “Sissy” Mattingly of Lebanon and the late Calvin Puyear, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Also surviving are two sisters: Mildred Grimes of Louisville and Connie Nally of Lebanon; a brother: Claude Puyear of Shepherdsville; a half-sister: Dorothy Doty of Illinois.
Three grandchildren: Amanda Mattingly and Missy and Michael Mitchell all of Campbellsville and Jessie Puyear of Willisburg; five great-grandchildren: Haley, Nate, Chloe and Peyton Mitchell and Eli Puyear; his special adopted children: Debbie Rucker and husband Timmy of Shelbyville and Michelle Vaught of Campbellsville; his special adopted grandchildren: Tyler and Bailey Rucker, Brittany, AJ, Michael, Keileigh and Nasha Vaught and a host of other relatives and friends.
Also preceded him in death was a grandchild: McKenzie Puyear; a brother: Herman Thomas Puyear; two sisters: Ester Bell and Marie Schulks.Logo
The funeral for Mr. Elbert “Pee Wee” Puyear will be Friday at 1 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Bro. Donnie Blick will be officiating.

Hazel Livers, age 94, of Campbellsville died Friday, June 12, 2015 at Campbellsville Nursing And Rehab of Campbellsville, KY.

Hazel was born September 10, 1920 in Marion County, KY. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Mattie (Sapp) Benningfield and predeceased by her brothers, Ernest Benningfield, John Benningfield and  Thomas Benningfield and a sister, Lennie Pike.

She is survived by one son: Tony (Carol) Livers of Louisville, KY and a grandson, Doug Livers

A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, June 19 at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Marion County.

Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Nancy Aria “Aria” Mullins, age 97, of Campbellsville died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Sunrise Manor in Hodgenville, KY.

Nancy was born November 5, 1917 in Cumberland County, KY. She is the daughter of the late George Fayette and Jenny Carmon (Spear) Capps.  She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles John Mullins on  November 9, 1998.   She was also predeceased by her son, Donald Mullins,  a daughter, Nancy Gibbs, grandson, Donald P. Mullins, brother, Edward Capps,  and sisters, Frances Phillips, Ina Lovett and Mary Edna Capps.

She is survived by two daughters: Betty Cornett of Lexington, KY, Marietta Mullins of Elizabethtown, KY and one son, George Mullins and his wife Margaret of Cincinnati, OH; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren;  two sisters, Eva Mintz of Munster, IN and  Loletta Kidd of Campbellsville; one brother,  Loyd Capps of Campbellsville; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Mullins.

The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, Campbellsville,  with Bro. Ken Foreman officiating.  Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Campbellsville.

Serving as pallbearers are William Poe, John Eastridge, James Cornett, Chris Gibbs, Danny Simpson and Greg Mullins.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E. Main St., Campbellsville, KY.

Ollie C. Newton of Campbellsville, son of the late Walter Newton and Nettie Page Newton, was born October 24, 1933 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:34 A.M., Sunday, June 14, 2015 in Louisville. Age: 81
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army where he was a military policemen in Germany.
He united in marriage to Gaye Cash January 21, 1954. She preceded him in death May 27, 1999.
He united in marriage to Clara Williams Sapp January 31, 2006.
Besides his wife, Clara Sapp Newton, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Barry Newton and wife, Mary, and Brian Newton of Louisville and Bonnie Minor and husband, David of Richmond Hill, Georgia; four step-children: Debbie Sexton and husband, Ronnie, Denise Reynolds and husband, Tony and Dinah Daugherty of Campbellsville and Tim Sapp and wife, Michelle of Lexington; five grandchildren: Josh Newton, Nora Minor, Olivia Minor, Paul Thomas Minor and Danielle Newton Erickson; ten step-grandchildren: Chris Sexton, Allen Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Tiffany Polk, Gretchen Warner, Tabby Benningfield, Samantha Farmer, Madison Sapp, Grace Sapp and Emma Claire Sapp; three great-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Ford of Long Beach, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister: Jerome Newton and Elender Cox.

Gertrude C. Allen of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Jerry Carlile and Ethel Murphy Carlile, was born February 25, 1932, in Larue County, Kentucky. She died at 7:30 A.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Greensburg. Age: 83
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was a former employee of Metzmeier Nursing Home and Boston’s Nursing Home.
She united in marriage to Cread Allen February 18, 1948. He preceded her in death November 21, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters and one son: Jewell Shipp, Ruby Sanders and Charles Thomas Allen of Campbellsville; eleven grandchildren: Paul Allen, Danny Allen, Jennifer Fisher, Marie Allen, Amanda Allen, Scotty Allen, Chris Morgan, Jason Pace, Bradley Pace, Misty Smith and Crystal Gebler; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Maxine Nelson and husband, David of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter: Sammy Allen and Mary Jean Pike, one great-grandson, Shelby Thomas Smith and three brothers and two sisters: William Howard Carlile, Lawrence Carlile, Elroy Carlile, Letha Perkins and Sadie Allen.

Gene Goodin of Campbellsville, son of the late Elmer Goodin, Sr. and Minnie Farmer Goodin, was born July 7, 1936, in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:08 P.M., Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Campbellsville. Age: 78
He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church in Finley.
He was a retired employee of General Electric and a farmer.
He united in marriage to Theresa Sapp December 13, 1958.
Besides his wife, Theresa Goodin of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter: Timmy Goodin and wife, Felicia of Tampa, Florida, Wayne Goodin and wife, Jessica of Campbellsville and Dawn Conder and husband, Terry of Somerset; five grandchildren: Jeffrey Goodin, D.J. Goodin, LeeAnn Goodin, Aaron Conder and Annie Conder; one sister and one brother: Pat Thompson and Billy Goodin of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Humphress PicARMYMr. Alvin Hancel Humphress, the son of the late John Alvin and Ruby Peterson Humphress, was born January 1, 1936 in Taylor County and departed this life on Saturday, June 13, 2015 in Campbellsville at his home. He was 79 years of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. He attended the Campbellsville High School. He was a Veteran, having served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne. He was a past Master of the Elkhorn Masonic Lodge # 568 and was retired from Fruit of the Loom as operation manager of the distribution center.
He united in marriage on July 12, 1958, to Elizabeth Goff, the daughter of Holman and Rachel Tucker Goff of Greensburg.
Besides his wife Elizabeth Goff Humphress, he is survived by three brothers: Jolly and Katheryn Humphress, Donald and Charlotte Humphress and Johnny Humphress, all of Campbellsville; a sister: Kathleen and Paul Campos of California, and a step-sister: Delores Underwood of Campbellsville and a host of other relatives and friends. Also brothers-in-law: Thomas “Red” and Juanita Goff and Henry L. Goff both of Campbellsville; sisters-in-law: Beverly & Mark Ponder of Yosemite and Berna Jean Goff of Greensburg, two former sisters-in-law: Patricia Humphress of Campbellsville and Linda Garcia Humphress of San Antonio, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother: Guy Humphress, his step-mother: Virginia Humphress, a step-brother: Bobby Shaw and a brother-in-law: Jessie Goff.
Memorial Service for Mr. Alvin Hancel Humphress, will be conducted Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Harden Cemetery in Taylor County.
