Annie Mae Shofner Roots, 90, formerly of Campbellsville died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Versailles where she had lived for the past three years.
She was born Annie Mae Shofner to the late Albert and Mary Sprowles Shofner on August 25, 1925 in Marion County. She retired from Fruit of the Loom where she worked for several years. She had professed faith in Christ and had attended various churches throughout her life.
She married Charlie F. Roots on May 17, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005. Also preceding him in death were a son, Bobby Joe Roots and two brothers, Gilbert Shofner and Oscar Shofner.
She is survived by her two sons, Donnie Ray Roots and Tommy Dean Roots and his wife, Linda, all of Versailles; two grandchildren, Shannon Roots and Kayla Roots and a great-grandaughter, Charlsey and a brother, Eddie Shofner of Campbellsville
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Bro. George Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon National Cemetery.
The family requests visitation from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, November 12th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Geraldine (Lawson) Brewer of Campbellsville was born in Taylor County on February 17, 1943 into the marriage of Mary (Barnett) and the late Ira Lawson. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 9, 2015 after a long illness. She was 72 years, 8 months, and 23 days of age. She was the beloved wife of Willard Brewer, who survives. Mrs. Brewer was retired from the Campbellsville Fruit of the Loom factory. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Campbellsville.
Besides her devoted husband, she leaves to cherish her memory:
One son: Ricky Brewer of Campbellsville,
Two brothers and two sisters: Jerry Lawson, Terry Lawson and wife Kathy, and Dorothy Little and husband Earl, all of Campbellsville, and Betty Nations and husband Buster of Milsap, Texas,
Three grandchildren: Candace Sneed and husband Jason, Blake Brewer and wife Danielle, and Emma Brewer,
And a host of extended family and close friends.
There will be a funeral mass to honor the life of Mrs. Geraldine Brewer on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM EST in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 425 N Central Ave, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Interment will follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Roy M. Derry, Sr. of Columbia, formerly of Louisville, was born on May 25, 1930. He departed this life on November 8, 2015 at his residence. He was 85 years, 5 months, and 14 days of age.
He is survived locally by:
One son: Matthew Guy Derry,
A former spouse: Jackie Asbury,
Two former sisters-in-law: Diane Robinson and Debra Robinson,
Six grandchildren,
And several other family and friends.

Mr. George William “Bill” Urban, a resident of the Green Hill Manor in Greensburg, formerly of Campbellsville, was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 9, 1947. He departed this life on November 7, 2015 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital after a long illness. He was 68 years, 6 months, and 29 days of age. Mr. Urban was a former truck driver for the Concord Company and the Chicago Tribune Newspaper.
He leaves to mourn his passing:

Mr. William P. “Bill” Tucker of Campbellsville was born on March 17, 1939 into the marriage of Roy and Sarah (Miller) Tucker in Green County. He departed this life on November 7, 2015 at the Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 76 years, 7 months, and 21 days of age. Mr. Tucker was the devoted husband to Mrs. Fontella (Chappel) Tucker. She preceded him in death on April 12, 2015. He was known for his quick and hearty smile, and always had an encouraging word to give. He believed a man should work hard to earn a living, and he led by example. He was employed for 34 years at the Campbellsville Fruit of the Loom factory. When it closed, he worked for the Campbellsville Walmart for 18 years, and was employed there until his time of passing. As a young man, Mr. Tucker was a drafted into duty, and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He professed faith in Christ through word and deed, and was a member the East Campbellsville Church of God.
Mr. Tucker leaves to cherish his memory:
Three sons and one daughter: Tony Tucker and wife Lisa, Tana Sapp, Trent Tucker and wife Marlene, and Trevor Tucker, all of Campbellsville,
One brother and three sisters: Jimmy Tucker and wife Faye of Campbellsville, Mary Jo Sutton of Missouri, Sue Buck of Indiana, and Margaret Mudd of Campbellsville,
Nine grandchildren,
Four great grandchildren,
And a host of other close family and friends.
Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death two brothers, Robert “Bob” Tucker, and Tommy “Tink” Tucker.

Robbie Spencer and Bro. Ben Spencer will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappel Cemetery, Highway 76, Knifley, KY 42753.

Seth D. Wade of Elizabethtown, formerly of Russell Springs and Campbellsville, son of the late James B. Wade and Delsie Foley Wade was born January 5, 1928 in Russell County, Kentucky. He died at 4:06 A.M., Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Elizabethtown. Age: 87
He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of Younger’s Creek Baptist Church.
He was a1964 graduate of Campbellsville College and was an artist and art teacher and former owner/operator of Wade’s Arts and Crafts.
He united in marriage to Margaret Sue Butler June 27, 1964.
Besides his wife, Margaret Sue Butler Wade of Elizabethtown, he is survived by one brother-in law, William Butler and wife, Louise of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Cathy Catron of Knifley; several cousins and many other relatives and friends including his close friends at Younger’s Creek Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers: Garnette Blair, Winfred Wade and Byron Wade.

Craig A. Helin, age 59, of Campbellsville died Saturday, November 7, 2015 in Campbellsville.
A native of Sandwich, Illinois, he was born on October 5, 1956 to the late Gerald Wayne Helin and Delta Holmes Helin who survives and lives in Arizona. He had worked in Illinois for Allsteel for several years prior to moving to Campbellsville where he worked for Wal-Mart prior to retiring. He enjoying using a saw to make intricate scrollwork. He also enjoyed playing a guitar and watching television.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tillie Cochran Heline, his brother, Terry Helin and his wife, Jeannie of Sandwich, Illinois; a sister, Kari Cassell of Campbellsville and eight step-children.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home where visitation will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday prior to the service.

Peggy Clark Sublett, age 80, of East Lemon Bend Road, Campbellsville, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY, after complications from myelodysplastic syndrome.
She was the daughter of the late E.O. and Olsie Mae Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Henry Sublett, and by her brother, Larry Clark. In addition to being a farm wife and mother, she served as secretary of the Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and as a nanny for several beloved children. She enjoyed books, birds, and the Cincinnati Reds.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca (Larry) Webb of Powell, TN; Adam (Thad Gronotte) Sublett of Covington, KY; and Rachel (Dave) Zahniser of Fort Mitchell, KY. Her grandsons, Kevin Cordell, Andrew (Kayla) Cordell, and Robert Zahniser, and her great granddaughters, Hannah Cordell, Madison Cordell, and Cassandra Cordell, survive. She is also survived by her sisters, Lois Melton, Mary Stubbs, Ina Martin, Sharon Robinson, Sara Brockman, and Emma Sharp, as well as many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Good Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Kristy Wright Bennett, Andrew Cordell, Thad Gronotte, Larry Webb, Misty Wright Wooldridge, and Dave Zahniser.

Mrs. Peggy Ann Hunt of Campbellsville was born on October 12, 1961 in Campbellsville to the late Harvey and Mary Elizabeth (Wise) Gilbert. She departed this life on November 4, 2015 at her home. She was 54 years and 25 days of age. Mrs. Hunt professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church.

He attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a former employee of Campbellsville Industries.
He united in marriage to Marsha Sapp September 26, 1987.
Besides his wife, Marsha Gribbins of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Justin Tyler Gribbins of Campbellsville; one grandson, Roy Michael Gribbins; his mother, Leoda Gribbins of Lebanon; two brothers and three sisters: Clayton Gribbins and wife, Jane of Lebanon, Sonny Gribbins and wife, Bonnie of Willisburg, Dorine McCowan and husband, Charles of Danville, Nevelda Gribbins of Mannsville and Debbie Humphress and husband, Chat of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Martin Gribbins.
