Mary Helen Rafferty Embry of Campbellsville, daughter of the late William Dewey Whited and Ina Emaline Kilby Whited, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, July 2, 1924. She died on Passover at 3:35 A.M., Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in Campbellsville. Age: 85
She professed faith in Christ at age fourteen and was a charter member of the Campbellsville Baptist Temple.
She had been employed by Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, Metzmeier Nursing Home and Medco Nursing Home.
She united in marriage to Benjamin Anderson Rafferty August 1, 1942. He preceded her in death December 17, 1996.
She united in marriage to Willis Embry who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one son and four daughters: Carroll Rafferty and wife, Betty, Barbara Fitzgerald and husband, Ronnie, Juanita Ford and husband, Donnie, Mary Nell Cox and husband, Dannie and Linda Winfrey of Campbellsville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Sue King of Campbellsville; special friend, Nan Rose of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister: James Whited, Samuel Whited and Annie Mae DeSpain.

William Howard Spratt, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late William L. ldquo;Budrdquo; Spratt and Nora Phillips Spratt, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, December 25, 1926. He died at 11:37 A.M., Monday, March 29, 2010, in Louisville. Age: 83
He professed faith in Christ early in life.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He was a retired general contractor having owned MIDCO Construction and a partner in Ellis and Spratt Construction Company.
He united in marriage to Joan Wintsch Harrison March 17, 1987.
Besides his wife, Joan Harrison Spratt of Campbellsville, he is survived by his sons and daughters: Jackie Payne and husband, Jim of Rosamond, California, Julie Jessie and husband, Kimble of Campbellsville, William ldquo;Billrdquo; Howard Spratt, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Dayton, Ohio, Johnson Spratt of Panama and David Harrison and wife, Patty of Bowling Green; ten grandchildren: Scott Jessie, Adam Jessie, Rev. Blake Jessie, Julie Payne, Jason Payne, Nora Spratt, Christopher Spratt, Tom Spratt, Robert Howard Spratt, and Natalie Cline; six great-grandchildren: Hunter Jessie, Brayden Jessie, Jase Jessie, Taylor Jessie, Carson Jessie, and Harrison Cline; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Hill Spratt; three sisters and two brothers: Lucille Merril, Ada Maxie, Frances Goodin, Kenny Spratt, and James Spratt.

Geneieve ldquo;Ginnyrdquo; Murphy, age 65, of Taylorsville, KY formerly of Campbellsville, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Norton Suburban Hospital after an illness.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Harold and Helen Murphy of Louisville and Donald and Germaine Murphy of West Virginia, three grandchildren Ted Murphy, Brooke Murphy, and Megan Murphy, one great-grandchild Taylor Murphy, and one sister Lucille Brewer of Louisville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Friday at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Zion Separate Baptist Cemetery.

Alice Marie Sprowles, age 83, of Louisville, formerly of Taylor County died Monday, March 29, 2010 in Louisville after an illness.
She was a homemaker and a member of Shively Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Avis Sprowles and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Wanda S. and Charles Powell, Connie and Daniel Halbauer all of Louisville, two grandchildren Russell Powell and Shannon Sanders and one great-grandchild Neneh Sanders also survive along with one brother Estil Gray of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be at 1 PM Thursday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
The family request visitation after 10 AM Thursday at the Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home in Campbellsville and from 2 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Owen Funeral Home in Louisville.

Laura Elizabeth Holmes, age 64, of Mannsville, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at her residence after a sudden illness.
She was the daughter or the late Marion McKinley and Mabel Greer. She was also preceded in death by her husband Rufus Holmes on April 12, 1994.
She is survived by one daughter, Cora Louise Holmes of Mannsville.

She was the daughter of the late William Edmond and Hattie Sylvia Glover. She was also preceded in death by one son, Daniel Edmons Mouser and one daughter, Connie Allen Mouser.

Mary H. Cox of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Mannsville, daughter of the late Arlis Cox and Ada Garrett Cox, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 10, 1942. She died at 3:10 P.M., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, in Indianapolis. Age: 67
She professed faith in Christ and was of the Holiness faith.
She united in marriage to Samuel G. Cox July 11, 1959.
Besides her husband, Samuel G. Cox of Indianapolis, she is survived by two sons and two daughters: Samuel K. Cox and wife, Judy, Denise Bowman and husband, Eric, Jeffrey G. Cox, Rhonda G. Vaughn and husband, Jason of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters: Audrey K. Cox of Sarasota, Florida and Frances Pauline Baird of Battle Creek, Michigan; two aunts: Estelle Cox and Susan Pendleton and husband, Raymond of Campbellsville; sister-in-law, Nina Cox of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
