Gracie Spurling, 80, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at her residence after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Myrtle Malone Gribbins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everrett E Spurling, two sons, Edwin and Charles Ray Spurling, two grandsons, four brothers, Johnny, George, Billy, and Charles Gribbins, Jr., two sisters, Lucille Tucker and Dorothy Griffin.
She is survived by four sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Spurling, Roger and Carla Spurling, Danny Spurling and Donnie Spurling all of Campbellsville, five daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Ronnie Clark of Mt Washington, Geraldine Spurling, Pamela Spurling, Wanda Greer and Tina Spurling all of Campbellsville, twenty two grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, two sisters and brother-in-law, Agnes Thomas of Campbellsville, Mary Belton and Kenneth Edwards of Greenwood, Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Tallow Creek Cemetery.

Beatrice Blankenship Light of Campbellsville, daughter of the late James Robert Blankenship and Mary Ella ldquo;Mollierdquo; Kelly Blankenship, was born December 30, 1916, in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 6:25 P.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Lebanon. Age: 92
She had been employed by Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Walter Herbert Light May 14, 1986. He preceded her in death May 8, 1990.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister: O. M. ldquo;Dallasrdquo; Blankenship and Cleo Blankenship Warner.

Dr. Drewry Meece, Jr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Drewry Meece and Mauda Wade Meece, was born in Russell Springs, Kentucky June 26, 1928. He died at 4:50 A.M., Tuesday, August 11, 2009, in Campbellsville. Age: 81
He professed faith in Christ and was called into the ministry at the age of seventeen. He became a Southern Baptist Minister and pastored several Russell County churches. He was currently a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.
He received an Associate of Arts degree at Lindsey Wilson College in 1948, a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Georgetown College in 1950, Masters in Education in 1957 and Doctorate in Education in 1965 at University of Kentucky, and a Masters of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1970.
He taught in the Russell County School System, Georgetown College, Campbellsville University (1965 thru 1991), Eastern Kentucky University, St. Catherine College, and Lindsey Wilson College.
He was a lifetime member of Phi Delta Kappa and the UK Alumini.
He made thirteen trips abroad with students to Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Athens and Rome and made four trips to Wuxi, China (1995-99) to teach English in the summer.
He also had a nursing home ministry at the Fair Oaks Rest Home in Jamestown.
He united in marriage to Shirley Baker April 25, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Shirley Baker Meece of Campbellsville, several cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a baby brother, Ortis Meece.

Frank Duncan, 75, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in Louisville after an illness.
He was the son of the late Will and Lillie Garnett Duncan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Duncan on December 13, 1995, also preceding him in death was two sisters, Cecelia Whalen and Ada Haskins.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Stella Duncan of Campbellsville, Chrystal Frank Duncan of Chicago, one daughter and son-in-law, Runita and David Rice of Campbellsville, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, one brother, Henry Duncan of Campbellsville and one sister, Mary Shively of Chicago.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM, Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Anderson Cemetery.

Jewell Dean Walls, age 74, of Linda Lane, Campbellsville, died Tuesday at Grandview Nursing Home after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Coy and Betty Bryant Holmes, also preceding her in death were three brothers, Leonard, G. T. , and Coy Holmes and two sisters, Ruby Stevens and Geneva Walls. She was a retired employee of J. C. Penny.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Walls of Campbellsville, one son, Greg Walls of Campbellsville , one grandson, Winston Walls, one granddaughter, Emma Walls of Hodgenville, one step grandson, Brandon Skaggs of Campbellsville, two special nieces, Linda Hayes and Bonnie Netherland both of Campbellsville.

Dorothy Harrison of Campbellsville, daughter of the late T. E. Acree and Lizzie McMahan Acree, was born January 3, 1923, in Green County, Kentucky. She died at 11:43 A.M., Friday, August 7, 2009 in Campbellsville. Age: 86
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Meadowview Baptist Church.
She had been employed at Metzmeier Nursing Home as a nursing assistant and also in the Campbellsville High School cafeteria.
She united in marriage to Miller Harrison January 26, 1943. He preceded her in death April 4, 1997.
She is survived by two sons and their spouses: Michael and Bettiana Harrison of Campbellsville and Tom and Penny Harrison of Concord, Ohio; four grandchildren: Jennifer Harrison of Mentor, Ohio, Danny Harrison of Madison, Ohio, Christopher A. Harrison of Campbellsville, and BeckyMartin of Houstonville; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Ray Acree and wife, Marion of Greensburg and Margie Gorslene of Marysville, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Esther Cox Gabehart, daughter of the late Garrett Cox and Mary Callahan Risen was born August 12, 1928, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 4:18 P.M., Friday, August 7, 2009 in Louisville. Age: 80
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of The Loom in Campbellsville and Frankfort.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Carol ldquo;Bunnyrdquo; and Marvin McCubbin of Mt. Washington; two granddaughters: Heather (Jason) Vogel of Louisville and Courtney Nolley of Mt. Washington; one great-grandson, Cailen Nolley of Mt. She retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville in 1989.
She united in marriage to Bert Rhodes, Jr. March 31, 1956.

Marie Irene Smothers, 90, of Campbellsville, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.
She was the daughter of the late Willie and Bessie Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husbands Omer Pike, Shrive Akin, and Merle Smothers, three daughters Mary Ann Clark, Katherine Pike and Nellie Jean Webb, one step brother Leo Sullivan. She was a member of First General Baptist.
