Lawrence Raffety of Campbellsville, son of the late Alvin Raffety and Lettie Colvin Raffety, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, June 7, 1924. He died at 7:30 A.M., Tuesday, November 27, 2007, in Louisville. Age: 83He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of Caulk Lumber Company and a retired farmerHe united in marriage to Helen White in September of 1943. She preceded him in death September 7, 1999. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Fred Raffety and wife, Catheline of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews: Brenda Thompson, Glenda Colvin, Larry Raffety and Kimberly Deener of Campbellsville; Faye Osborne of Albermarle, North Carolina and Gary A. Raffety of Richmond, Virginia, and many other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin C. size=3Mary Willie Anderson Curry, age 89, was born September 9, 1918 in Green County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Robert Allen Anderson and Lela Haskins Anderson. She departed this life at The Grandview Nursing Home in Campbellsville at 5:30 AM, November 23, 2007. She professed hope in Christ at an early age. She joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School until she married then moved to Taylor County and joined the Pleasant Run Baptist Church, later she moved her membership to the Pleasant Union Baptist Church where the Rev. Michael Caldwell is Pastor. She remained a faithful member until failing health. size=3 She was united in married to the late Ezra D. Curry on December 23, 1939, from this union eleven children was born. Mary had one son that preceded her in death, Ernest W. Curry. She leaves to cherish fond memories four sons: Danny R. Curry, Larry S. Curry (Geneva), Steve G. Curry (Phyllis), all of Campbellsville, Ky., Roy A Curry (Janet) Louisville, Ky, six daughters: Judy G. Turner (Ronnie), Barbara A. Redman, Linda S. Loretta Jacobs, age 84, of Campbellsville, died Friday, November 16, 2007 at the Grandview Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Downs Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband Homer L. Jacobs in 1967, her daughters, Shirley Gibbs and Nioma Allen. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Thompson, Stanley Thompson, Bernard Thompson, Harold Thompson, Everette Thompson, Roy Thompson and Polon Thompson, her sister, Helen Herron. She was a retired employee of Metzmeir Nursing Home and a member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was born February 28, 1941 in Columbia, Ky, the son of Lucille (Bomar) Jones and Ruben Frazier. He married Edna Mae Bridgewater on March 6, 1961 in Columbia, Ky. Billy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He accepted Christ at a young age. He was employed at Caterpillar (Barber Green), Sycamore, Illinois. He was a member of New Emmanuel Baptist Church, Rockford, Illinois where he became an ordained Deacon under the Guidance of Pastor Earl Neeley until moving to Campbellsville, Ky in 2002 where he became a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and also served as chairman of the Deacon Board under Rev. Michael Caldwell. He was an active member, singing in the choir and doing what God had for him to do. He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae, two daughters, Charmaine Webster, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Charissa Bomar, Rockford, Illinois, two sons, Victor (Vinnie ) Bomar, Rockford , Illinois, and Van Bomar of Sycamore, Illinois, four grandchildren, Brandon (Diana) Webster, Rockford, Illinois, Rashaud Bomar, Campbellsville, Ky, Tyrese and Alijah Bomar both of Rockford, Illinos, one great grandson, Jadin Webster.
