George Carter of Old Lebanon Road, Campbellsville, son of the late George Washington Carter Sr. and Lottie Coggin Carter was born September 11, 1918 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. He died at 1:03 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 87 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge, operating heavy artillery in England and serving as an instructor in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Murrow Lodge #49 F AM. He united in marriage to Laura Amelia Satterfield who preceded him in death February 14, 1963. He united in marriage to Lettie Pearl Creason Ratcliff, June 2, 1965. Besides his wife Lettie Carter of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and two daughters and spouses: Sheridan and Elizabeth Ratcliff of Georgetown, Virginia and Bob Marshbanks of Stanford, and Mildred and Kenneth Bowen of Campbellsville; eight grandchildren and spouses: Larry and Sherry Bowen and Steven and Isabelle Ratcliff of Campbellsville, Jill and Todd Humphress of Elkhorn, Sherry Harden Stanley and husband Henry of Casselberry, Florida, Libby and Craig Kuehl of Des Moines, Iowa, Debbie and Mark Wallace, Renee and J. R. Smith and Brad Walls of Georgetown; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; special caregivers: Barbara Eastridge and Jerrie Taylor of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by three grandsons: Brian Harden 6-14-1999 and two grandsons in infancy; one great-grandson, Ethan Michael Bowen 8-16-200 two sisters and three brothers: Ura Carver, Mary Kendrick, John Carter, Arthur Carter and L.C. Jimmy Lee Gilpin of Red Fern Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Harry Gilpin and Gladys Faye Sullivan Gilpin was born June 3, 1936 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 2:45 P.M., Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 70 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Kentucky Army National Guard for many years. He was a retired insurance adjustor and farmer. He united in marriage to Bettye Sue Marcum July 1, 1961. Besides his wife Bettye Sue Gilpin of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Kim Gilpin of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Justin Tyler Hayes of Campbellsville and Sarah Beth Gilpin of Greensburg; one brother and one sister and spouses: Bobby and Peggy Gilpin and Bettye Faye and L.C. Jerry T. Graham, of Wooleyville Road, Campbellsville, son of the late Gilbert Graham and Christine Malone Graham was born September 10, 1944 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He died at 1:10 A.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2006, in Campbellsville. Age: 61 He professed faith in Christ early in life and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.He retired from Houchens Market in Campbellsville and was previously employed by Cox Interior. He united in marriage to Myna Dudgeon August 14, 1965.
