Macel V. Thompson of Attilla Road, Campbellsville, daughter of the late Oscar Salsman and Lizzie Buley Salsman was born January 10, 1932 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 10:40 A.M., Friday, August 4, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 74 She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Zion Separate Baptist Church. She united in marriage to Fred Thompson December 23, 1948.Besides her husband Fred Thompson of Campbellsville, she is survived by two sons and one daughter and spouses: Rev. Freddy Thompson and wife, Regina of Greensburg, Garrett Thompson of Campbellsville and Dian Bishop Cox and husband, J.R. of Bowling Green; one son-in-law, Charles Clark of Campbellsville; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Elsie Watson and Leora Standard of Illinois; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.She was also preceded in death by one daughter, JoAnn Clark, July 20, 200 one brother and four sisters: Calvin Salsman, Opal Chisholm, Minnie Emma Parker, Marvis Jones and Ada Doris Salsman. Ray Mings of Country View Court, Campbellsville, son of the late John Mings and Fannie Elizabeth Tucker Mings was born November 1, 1913 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 6:15 P.M., Sunday, July 16, 2006 in Elizabethtown. Age: 92He professed faith in Christ, was baptized and is presently a member of the Campbellsville Christian Church. He was a graduate of Campbellsville University and Transylvania University. He taught in the Taylor County School System for eight years. He held a graduate degree from Butler School of Religion in Indianapolis, Indiana.He served as a pastor in central Indiana, and was a former missionary minister in Osaka, Japan for some thirty years having started three churches and serving as a board member and professor of the Osaka Bible Seminary in Osaka, Japan. He united in marriage to Mattie Roberts November 1, 1934. Besides his wife, Mattie Mings of Campbellsville, he is survived by two sons and one daughter and spouses: Dale and Patty Mings of Eastview, Kentucky, Lonnie and Coral Mings of Israel and Colorado Springs, Colorado and Carol and Mike Cornelison of Whitehouse, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte Mings of Hauula, Hawaii; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother and three sisters: Jodie Mings of Campbellsville, Betty Rowe Vaughn and Regina Ermine Farmer of Wadsworth, Ohio and Nina Faye Chelf of Louisville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
