Opal Cathleen Miller, age 74, of Jackson Towers, Campbellsville, died Monday, August 7, 2006, at the Metzmeier Nursing Home after an illness.She was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church, she was retired from Taylor Regional Hospital..She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Ruth Hash Miller, her husband, Charlie Miller, three sisters, Pauline Hedgespeth, Judy Shuffett, Wanda Thompson.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law and one daughter, Darrell and Pam Miller of Campbellsville and Cathy Miller of Elizabethtown. One grandchild, Holly Shively and two great-grandchildren, Levi and Landon Shively also survive along with three brothers and one sister, James and Donnie Thompson both of Campbellsville, Floyd Thompson of Tennessee and Ann Strader of Greensburg.Funeral services for Opal Cathleen Miller will be held at 2:00 P.M. Lona Skaggs, age 89, of Central Avenue Campbellsville, died Monday August 7, 2006 at Metzmeir Nursing Home after an illness.She was a member of Zion Separate Baptist Church and retired from Metzmeir Nursing Home.She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Emily Jane Morris Thompson, her spouses, Dollie DeWitt, Elliott Skaggs, one son, Roger Michael Skaggs, two brothers, Marvin Thompson, Lester Thompson, eight sisters, Mayme Davis, Christine Miller, Audrey Shofner, Sadie Beard, Elsie Thompson, Lula Thompson Virgie Nelson and Dorothy Mardis. She is survived by one son and daughter, Larry R. James Work of Sunset Drive, Campbellsville, son of the late Johnny Work and Eula Puckett Work was born September 16, 1926 in Dixon, Tennessee. He died at 5:30 A.M., Friday, August 11, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 79He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Sunny Hill Drive Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army. He united in marriage to Kemel Marie Smith September 27, 1947. Wilmer Bryant of Chandler Street, Campbellsville, son of the late Grover and Nona Bryant was born May 13, 1919 in Adair County, Kentucky. He died at 2:10 A.M., Thursday, August 10, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 87He professed faith in Christ and was a charter member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. He retired from Taylor County Rural Electric after thirty-eight years of service. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Army as a heavy machine gunner at Guadalcanal, Southern Philippines and Northern Solomons Islands having been awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three bronze stars, the American Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star and the Good Conduct Ribbon. He was a member of Pitman Masonic Lodge #124 F A.M.He united in marriage to Opal Bryant January 23, 1946. She preceded him in death September 21, 1999. George Carter of Old Lebanon Road, Campbellsville, son of the late George Washington Carter Sr. and Lottie Coggin Carter was born September 11, 1918 in Sebastian County, Arkansas. He died at 1:03 A.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Campbellsville. Age: 87 He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict having served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge, operating heavy artillery in England and serving as an instructor in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Murrow Lodge #49 F AM. He united in marriage to Laura Amelia Satterfield who preceded him in death February 14, 1963. He united in marriage to Lettie Pearl Creason Ratcliff, June 2, 1965.
