thompson, colby jColby Jade Thompson, age 20, of Greensburg died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Green County.

Colby was born November 17, 1994 and was a 2013 graduate of Green County High School.  He worked at Amazon in Campbellsville and enjoyed cars, computers and video games.

He is survived by his mother, Pennie Akin and her husband, Tom, of Greensburg; his father, Chris Karnes, of Columbia; a brother, Brett Huff; five sisters, Sydney Akin, Sarah Akin, Sienna Akin, Skylar Akin and Symphany Akin, all of Greensburg; a step-sister, Shauna Akin of Columbia; his grandmother, Linda Thompson, of Greensburg; his grandfather, Rollie Thompson, of Mt. Sherman; his step-grandparents, Glen and Ramona Akin, of Columbia and several other relatives and friends.

His grandparents, Donna and Due Karnes preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. EST Saturday, November 29th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in the Taylors Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Friday, Nov. 28th at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville.

Mary E. Goodin Caulk 002Mary E. Goodin Caulk of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Elmer Goodin and Minnie Farmer Goodin, was born October 5, 1927, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 5:00 P.M., Monday, November 24, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age 87

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church.

She was retired from Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville after twenty-two years of service.

She united in marriage to James Benningfield October 27, 1947. He preceded her in death September 17, 1960.

She united in marriage to James R. Caulk June 30, 1972.

Besides her husband, James R. Caulk, she is survived by six sons and three daughters: Larry Benningfield and wife, Becky, Elizabeth Cox, and husband, Rodger of Campbellsville, Bob Benningfield and wife, Diane of Columbia, Susie McGrannahan and husband, Andrew of Lexington, Roger Benningfield and wife, Ellen of Lincolnton, North Carolina, Terry Benningfield and wife, Cindy, James R. Caulk Jr., and wife, Cricket, Keith Caulk and Patty Peagle and husband, Eddie of Indianapolis, Indiana; one son-in-law Matthew Sloderbeck of Noblesville, Indiana; twenty-four grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Billy Goodin and wife, Sue, Gene Goodin and wife, Teresa and Pat Thompson of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Sloderbeck and three brothers and three sisters: Elmer Goodin, Jr, Charles Goodin, James Goodin, Catherine Newton, Marie Caulk and Mildred Benningfield.

Judy Lawler, 66

Lawler pic Mrs. Judy May Lawler of Campbellsville, passed away on November 24, 2014, at the Taylor Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 66 years of age. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she moved with her family at a young age to Chicago, Illinois where she was raised. She was the daughter of the late Elsi May (Lewis) and William Russell Sturgis, Sr. Mrs. Lawler was a doting homemaker who took special pride in her grandchildren. She was a bingo fanatic, and would play at every opportunity.

Mrs. Lawler is survived by:
Four children: Tina Marie Gutierrez Porter and husband John Paul, Sr., Manuel Gutierrez, Jr. and wife Carol, John Paul Gutierrez, Sr. and wife Crystal Dale, and Angelina Christina Waldron and husband Sean Patrick, Sr., all of Campbellsville,
Two brothers: William Russell “Bill” Sturgis and wife Linda, and Chuck Sturgis and wife Rebecca, all of Pennsylvania,
Her ex-husband: Manuel Gutierrez, Sr. and wife Dana of Campbellsville,
A special friend and bingo buddy: Rosie Osinger,
A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
And several other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Gutierrez, Sr., and a sister, Martha Ann Hostler.

There will be a graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Lawler on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery, Campbellsville, KY, at 10:00 AM. Deacon Joe Dant will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY 42718, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from 3:00-9:00 PM.
