Mildred Sue Harris of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Charles O. Richerson and Mary Aileen Wilkerson Richerson was born July 3, 1939 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 9:36 A.M., Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Louisville. Age: 76
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She was retired and had served as secretary for the Campbellsville Baptist Church and the Taylor County Cooperative Extension Service. She was a prior volunteer with the Crisis Relief Center. She had a love for children and had served in the Preschool Ministry at Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Silas “Buddy” Harris February 17, 1957.
Besides her husband Silas “ Buddy” Harris of Campbellsville she is survived by three sons and two daughters: Tim Harris and wife, Debbie and Mike Harris of Campbellsville, Karen Edwards and husband, Rev. Kelvin Edwards of Summersville, Jenny Houk and husband, Joey of Greensburg and Wynn Harris and wife, Stephanie of London; eight grandchildren: Kalie Edwards-Crowder of Glasgow, Erin Harris, Sarah Houk-Hayes and husband, Jason of Campbellsville, Kaitlyn Edwards-Taylor and husband, Alex of Greensburg, Lacy Harris of Campbellsville, Stephen Houk of Greensburg, Mason Harris and Kaden Harris of London; three great-grandchildren: Madeline Crowder of Glasgow, Griffin Hayes and Jacob Hayes of Campbellsville; one brother, Keith Richerson and wife, Theresa of Campbellsville; many other relatives and friends.

Bertie Skaggs, age 88

Bertie Lee Skaggs, age 88 of Campbellsville, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at her residence following an illness.

She was born May 4, 1927 in Cumberland County to the late D.S. and Beulah Mae Ballard White.  She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church.  She had retired from Union Underwear after 26 years of service.

On June 9, 1945, she married Hartley Skaggs who preceded her in death on December 22, 1984.  Also preceding her in death were her brothers Clavin White and Terry White, her sisters, Neva White and Delsie Humphrey and a grandson, Bobby Skaggs.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, George Skaggs and his wife, Wanda of Greensburg, Jimmy Skaggs and his wife Beverly, Melvin Skaggs and his wife, Gwen and Jerry Skaggs all of Campbellsville and Sharry Daniel and her husband, James of Missouri. Eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive along with three sisters and one brother, Grace Arms of Water View, Kentucky, Ollie Huff of Glasgow, Mildred Fletcher and Ferry White both of Burkesville.

Funeral services for will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday at the Lyon-DeWitt Berry Funeral Home with Bro. Drew Underwood officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Skaggs, Timothy Skaggs, Brandon Skaggs, Ryan Hatfield, Michael Graham and Greg Collard.

The family request visitation after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

Mary Agnes Whitlock, 99

Whitlock PIC Mrs. Mary Agnes (Nelson) Whitlock of Scotts Ridge Rd in Raywick passed from this life on March 23, 2016. She was born in Taylor County on February 28, 1917 to the late Charlie Thomas and Alma (French) Nelson. Mrs. Whitlock was 99 years and 24 days of age at the time of her passing. She was a young girl when her mother died; subsequently, she was raised and loved by her father and step-mother, Mrs. Laura (Grimes) Nelson. Mrs. Whitlock was the devoted wife to Mr. Ben Mitchell Whitlock, who preceded her in death. She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Washington Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Eight children: Gladys Mattingly of Campbellsville, Minnie Pearl McCauley of Marion Co., Aileen Stovall of Shepherdsville, Donnie Whitlock and wife Betty of St. Frances, Rusty Whitlock and wife Carolyn of Campbellsville, Connie Smith and husband Donnie of Mt. Sherman, Roger Whitlock of Raywick, and Sarah Lee Buckman of Raywick,

One sister: Jean Bell of Campbellsville,

One sister-in-law: Opal Nelson of Campbellsville,

One son-in-law: Doc Lamkin of Raywick,

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren,

And several other family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by four children, Ruby Lamkin, Ralph Whitlock, Larry Whitlock, and Ike Whitlock, and seven siblings, Charles Nelson, Woodrow Nelson, Howard Nelson, Omer Nelson, Willard Nelson, Stella Underwood, and Elizabeth Burchett.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Whitlock on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 1:00 PM EST in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Burial will follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery, Saloma Rd, Campbellsville, KY 42718.
