Roger Dean Emerick, 75

EPSON MFP image Mr. Roger Dean Emerick of Campbellsville entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the University of Louisville Hospital after a brief illness. He was 75 years, 6 months, and 19 days of age. He was born to the late George and Mae (Guess) Emerick in Oreville, OH, and was raised by his grandmother, Hattie Mae Guess, after the death of his mother. Mr. Emerick was a veteran, and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was the lead electrician at the General Electric Glass Plant in Logan, Ohio, and retired after forty years of service. Mr. Emerick was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a faithful and dedicated Christian and humanitarian and was a living witness of God’s love. He thoroughly enjoyed his time spent on mission trips, most notably to Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Belize, and twice to South Africa.

Mr. Emerick leaves to cherish his memory:
His wife of 55 years: Kay Emerick of Campbellsville,
One daughter: Krystal Emerick Burton and husband Mike of Campbellsville,
One son: Randy Dean Emerick of Davenport, Florida,
Two grandchildren: Justin Burton and Kaylee Burton, both of Campbellsville,
Three sisters: Betty Couden and Mary K. Frauenknecht of Owensboro, and Lovella Johnson of Lebanon, Ohio,
A half-brother: Jimmie Emerick of Zanesville, Ohio,
And a host of other extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Scott Matthew Emerick, and two brothers, Edward Emerick and George Wesley Emerick.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Roger Dean Emerick on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY 42718. Bro. Jim Ditty and Bro. Johnny Ditty will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 3, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials take the form of donations to the Campbellsville Baptist Church Mission Fund or Gideon Bibles, and can be made at the funeral home.
Mr. Emerick will be carried to his final resting place by Randy Emerick, Mike Burton, Justin Burton, Adam Schein, Bro. Jim Ditty, and Bro. Johnny Ditty. www.lrpetty.com

Janet Pickett of Campbellsville, daughter of Margaret Herron Fawcett and the late Douglas Watson, was born November 19, 1951, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 6:15 A.M., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Campbellsville. Age: 63
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Elk Horn Baptist Church.
She was a past employee of Fruit of the Loom and a retired employee of INFAC in Campbellsville.
She united in marriage to Roger Pickett March 8, 1968.
Besides her husband, Roger Pickett, she is survived by one son and one daughter: Roger Scott Pickett of Louisville and Stacey Forbis and husband, Daniel of Campbellsville; two grandchildren: Konner Forbis and Kenzi Forbis of Campbellsville; her mother, Margaret Fawcett of Campbellsville; one brother and one sister: Norman Douglas Watson and Lisa Kaye Tucker and husband, Tony of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Helen Feather Faulkner of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Arthur C. Feather and Thelma Leola McVay Feather, was born March 8, 1925, in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:02 P.M., Monday, December 29, 2014, in Louisville. Age: 89
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.
She united in marriage to Fred Faulkner, Jr. August 2, 1946. He preceded her in death April 13, 2009.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Fred Faulkner, Wes Faulkner, Phyllis Faulkner Cox and Jan Faulkner of Louisville; twelve grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce Russell and Peggy Tucker and husband, Elwood of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Erin Faulkner October 20, 2014.
