Mr. Lawrence DeWayne Skaggs of Shepherdsville, formerly of Campbellsville, passed away at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. He was 50 years, 3 months, and 18 days of age. He was the son of Lucy Helen (Shofner) Skaggs of Campbellsville and the late Ernest Skaggs, Jr.
Mr. Skaggs worked several years in the janitorial services industry. He professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith.
Besides his mother, Mr. Skaggs is survived by:
One son: Timothy Edwards of Louisville,
Eleven siblings: Joyce Cole and husband Ken of Louisville, Mary Bright and husband Tony of Campbellsville, Eyvonee Skaggs of Mt. Washington, Garry Skaggs and wife Diane of Raywick, David Skaggs and companion Pam of Campbellsville, Annette Bolin and husband Steve of Campbellsville, Robert Skaggs and wife Barbara of Campbellsville, John Wesley Skaggs of Bardstown, Tammy Morgan and husband Gary of Eubank, Jerrit Skaggs and wife Teresa of Campbellsville, and Julie Ann Yates and husband Robert of Lebanon,
And a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Skaggs, Jr., and a brother, Ronald Lee Skaggs.
There will be a funeral service for Mr. Skaggs held at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1765 New Columbia Rd., Campbellsville, KY 42718 on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Ronda Arnett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday, October 4, from 11:00 AM until time for the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the funeral expenses and can be made at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Garry Skaggs, David Skaggs, Robert Skaggs, John Wesley Skaggs, Jerrit Skaggs, and Gary Morgan.

Shirley F. Wooley of Campbellsville, son of the late Shelby Wooley and Gertie Fisher Wooley, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 18, 1935. He died at 6:20 A.M., Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age: 79
He professed faith in Christ and was of the Methodist faith.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville and a lifelong farmer.
He united in marriage to Bonnie Cox December 26, 1955.
Besides his wife, Bonnie Wooley, he is survived by four sons and one daughter: Shirley Arnold Wooley and wife, Tina and Donald Wooley and wife, Donna of Elk Horn, Ronald Lee Wooley and wife, Lucy of Campbellsville, Roger Keith Wooley and friend, Marsha Roof and Bonnie Wicker and husband, Larry of Elk Horn; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Roy Wooley and wife, Doris of Liberty, Wilbur Wooley and wife, Jerri of Louisville and Mary Jo Sneed of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Thelbert Wooley April 17, 2011 and one brother and five sisters: Bill Wooley, Opal Tungate, Annie Perkins, Myrtle Morris, Nellie Tungate and Lucille Wood.

Fred Neat of Campbellsville, son of Ruby Dye Neat and the late Finis Neat, was born in Adair County, Kentucky, December 24, 1944. He died Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Campbellsville. Age: 69
He retired from Komatzu in Peoria, Illinois and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Lodge #0158 AFL-CIO.
He is survived by one daughter and three sons: Jodi Sparks and husband, Jason , Bobby Neat and Eddie Neat and wife, Telisa of Indiana and Freddie Neat and wife, Audrey of Chico, California; ten grandchildren; his mother: Ruby Neat of Campbellsville; seven sisters and six brothers: Barbara Moore and Jolene Shirrell of Campbellsville, Alene Long of Liberty, Wanell Porier of Clearwater, Florida, Patsy Neat, Joann McDaniel and Randall Neat of New Port Richey, Florida, Wilma Burton of Palm Harbor, Florida, Edward Neat of Hamilton, Ohio, Frank Neat of Russell Springs, Elba Neat and Wilbert Neat of Elkhorn and Coy Neat of Buffalo; several nieces and nephews and many other relative and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Leona Scholl, Shirley Abner and Mary Neat.
