Rhodem E. Skaggs, age 91, formerly of Campbellsville, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington.
Rhodem was born September 10, 1922 in Green County to the late Lucian and Mildred Edrington Skaggs. He was a retired carpenter, farmer and employee of Campbellsville Industries and a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church. He served in the US Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient.
Besides his wife, Agatha Allen Skaggs, he was preceded in death by a brother, Odell Skaggs and a sister, Aileen Skaggs.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Philpott and Linda Collins and her husband Greg of Campbellsville and Wilma Jones, of Anderson, SC and his grandsons, Patrick Philpott and his wife, Yui of Denver, Co and Travis Collins and his wife, Allyson of Indianapolis, IN.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 21st at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. The family request visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Senior Living Ministries, Inc. c/o Bluegrass Way and can be made at the funeral home.

Willard Nelson of Campbellsville, son of the late Charlie Thomas Nelson and Laurie French Nelson Grimes, was born in Marion County, Kentucky, April 16, 1935. He died at 10:30 P.M., Monday, April 14, 2014 in Greensburg. Age: 78
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Washington Baptist Church.
He was a retired construction employee.
He is survived by one son: Brian Nelson of Campbellsville; two step-children: Patricia Lanham and Ollie R. Jones of Campbellsville; one grandson, Brandon Nelson of Campbellsville; one brother and two sisters: Woodrow Nelson and wife, Jean, Jean Bell and Mary Whitlock of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Howard Thomas Nelson, Omer Lee Nelson, Charles Leonard Nelson, Stella Underwood and Elizabeth Burchett and one step-son, Danny Joe Jones January 31, 2003.

Henry Joe Goodin, age 56 of Columbia, died at Jewish Hospital in Louisville on Sunday, April 14, 2014.
Henry had worked at Firestone of Campbellsville and Medco Nursing and Rehabilitation Center prior to being disabled in a motorcycle accident. He was a member of Whites Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Chelf Goodin; a son, Joe Goodin and his wife, Donna of Adair County; his step-children, Brian Rutledge, of LaGrange, KY, Bobbie Reynolds and her husband, Wendell of Green County, Justin Rutledge and his wife Angela, of Larue County and Amanda Wilson and her husband, James of Adair County; 17 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16th at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with burial to follow in Callahan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions towards the funeral expenses and may be made at the funeral home.
