12-08-2012, 6:27 am (WHAS11) — A family-owned tire store in Campbellsville is a total loss this morning after fire crews battled a major blaze for several hours Saturday morning, check this out to read more.
According to Ronnie Dooley, spokesperson for Campbellsville Fire and Rescue, dispatchers received a call of a working fire at Taylor County Tire Sales at 6:25 a.m. Saturday. When fire crews responded, the fire was heavily involved. Five fire crews assisted, including Taylor County, Adair County, Marion County, Green County and Somersville, and were able to contain the fire from spreading to nearby businesses.
The fire burned for several hours before it was contained. Fire crews were still carrying in water and waiting for the area to cool down nearly three hours after the fire was reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
According to Dooley, some electricity was interrupted in the area due to the fire.
South Columbia Avenue from Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. to Main Street will be closed for most of the day.
Taylor County Tire Sales is a family-owned business since 1963. The building is considered a total loss.
No injuries were reported.

Peggie Sue Sprowles of Campbellsville, daughter of Betty Jo Shifflett Ledford and the late William Burt Ledford, was born June 20, 1964 in Jackson, Georgia. She died at 7:45 A.M., Saturday, December 8, 2012 in Campbellsville. Age: 48 She professed faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. She united in marriage to Danny Sprowles December 28, 2006. Besides her husband, Danny Sprowles, she is survived by one son: Jesse Hurdt of Campbellsville; two step children: Travis Sprowles and fiancé,Tera and Shelly Gribbins and husband, Mike all of Campbellsville; two step granddaughters: Chloe Gribbins and Jada Pierce of Campbellsville; Mother, Betty Jo Ledford; and many other relatives and friends.

Paul Ford of Campbellsville, son of the late Carley “Bob” Ford and Pearl Carnes Ford Pierce, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, November 25, 1927. He died at 12:20 P.M., Friday, December 7, 2012, in Campbellsville. Age: 85
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville
He united in marriage to Delora Blevins February 1, 1949.
Besides his wife, Delora Ford, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:
Don Ford and wife, Elaine of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Mary Ellen Lowe and husband, Bob of Charlotte, Michigan and Byron Ford and wife, Bonnie of Riverview, Florida; three granddaughters: Kimberli Gribbins of Charlotte Michigan, Jennifer Ford and Stefanie Ford of Tampa, Florida; two great-granddaughters: Emily Whatley and Ellie Wiseley; three step-grandchildren: Jessica Lowe, Patrick Lowe, and Alison Lowe of Charlotte, Michigan; one half-brother, Johnnie Pierce of Campbellsville; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberli Ann Ford.
