Mary McAllister

Mary Ruth McAllister, 91, of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Wellington Marshall and Ruth Harper Marshall was born August 24th, 1933 in Carrollton, Ky. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green.
Mary united in marriage to Mr. Raymond McAllister on March 14th, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 7th, 1979.
Mary professed faith in Christ and was attending Milltown Church in Columbia.

Mary is survived by:
One son, Kent McAllister, and his wife, Katie, of Campbellsville
Five grandchildren: Jonathon McAllister and his wife, Kyrie, of Olive Hill; Joseph McAllister of San Antonio, TX; Jennifer McAllister of LA; Collin McAllister and his wife, Kaitlin, of Athens, AL; and Erin Burton and her husband, Greg, of Houston, TX
Several great-grandchildren
Two brothers and one sister: Tom Marshall of Michigan; John Marshall of Cincinnati; and Lynn Romens of Louisville
Several nieces and nephews
A host of other family and friends

Mary was preceded in death by:
One son, Donnie McAllister
One grandson, Lance McAllister
Three sisters and one brother: Pauline Parrish, Ruby Nell Stone, Patsy Ann Schmidt, and Nick Marshall

FUNERAL: To honor Ms. McAllister’s wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be a memorial service at a later time. Auberry Funeral Home in downtown Campbellsville is in charge of arrangements.

Vernon D. “Sonny” Boots

Vernon D. “Sonny” Boots, son of the late Ralph D. Boots and Melba Hall Boots, passed away on January 19, 2025 at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.

He was born on April 28, 1944 in Warsaw, Kentucky.

Vernon was a retired Marine, serving from 1967-1988.  He was a Vietnam veteram.  After retiring from the Marine Corp, Vernon began his career as a Baptist minister.  He pastored churches in Arizona and Nevada, retiring from the South Valley Baptist Church in Pahrump, Nevada in 2014.  After leaving Pahrump, Vernon returned to Campbellsville, Kentucky.

On May 1, 1971, Vernon united in marriage to the love of his life, Martha Sue Cornett Boots.

In addition to his wife, Martha Sue Boots, Vernon is survived by four children:  Michael W. Boots (Sheila) of Lebanon, Kentucky, Robert Boots (Janet) of Hutchinson, Kansas, Jozette Sayegh (Mo) of Pilot Point, Texas and Jamilyn Boots of Richmond, Kentucky.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as his loving sisters:  Carolyn Rodgers of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Brenda Franklin of Lexington, Kentucky as well as several nieces and nephews.

Vernon loved the Lord, his family and his country with all of his heart.  He was a jack of all trades, working as a mechanic and a truck driver prior to joining the Marines.  He was always willing to help anyone who needed it, right up until his final illness.  After suffering a stroke in 2022, he and Martha moved to Kansas but his heart was always in Kentucky. His soul is in Heaven but his earthly body is now at rest in the place he loved more than anywhere.

Tammy Shipione

Tammy Shipione of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Daniel Thomas Marple and Marion Diane Burton Marple, was born May 30, 1968 in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 6:14 P.M., Thursday, January 16, 2025 in Louisville.  Age: 56

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Lowell Avenue Baptist Church.

Tammy loved donating to good causes and enjoyed knowing she touched so many lives through her generosity.  Proverbs 31 – wife of noble character.

She united in marriage to Stephen Michael Shipione July 1, 2011.

Besides her husband, Stephen Michael Shipione of Campbellsville, Tammy is survived by two sons:  Casey Marple and wife, Crystal and Michael Allen Moyers of Campbellsville; three step-children:  Anthony Shipione, Tazio Shipione and Tre Shipione; one grandchild, Percy Minette Marple of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.
