L. Dennis Beams

L. Dennis Beams of Campbellsville, son of the late Frank Beams and Cannie Lile Beams, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, January 13, 1919.  He died at 8:40 A.M., Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Campbellsville.    Age:    94

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country honorably in the United States Army.

He was former owner and operator of Mac Auto Shop.

He united in marriage to Rebecca Crawley July 14, 1951.  She preceded him in death July 24, 2008.

He is survived by one son and one daughter:  Roger Lee Beams and Ila Jean Webster of Campbellsville, three grandchildren:  Kristina M. Corbin and husband, Justin, David Lee Webster and wife, Amanda and Angela Porter and husband, Brandon of Campbellsville; four great-grandchildren:  Ty Justin Corbin, Lea Marie Corbin, Clay Nolan Corbin and Lane Thomas Porter of Campbellsville and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Lloyd Beams November 21, 2008 and a foster sister, Frances Lawson.

Barbara P. Richardson

Barbara P. Richardson of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Morris Pickett and Leigh Rickett Pickett, was born January 25, 1943, in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 7:45 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in Campbellsville.   Age: 70

She was an associate with Wal-Mart in Campbellsville and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom for twenty years.

She united in marriage to Donald Richardson August 18, 1960.  He preceded her in death August 26, 2011.

She is survived by five daughters and three sons:  Jennifer Pyles and husband, Brett of Radcliff, Stacey Atwood and husband, Larry, Lisa Martin and husband, Steve, Tammy Jones, Stephanie Richardson, Jeff Richardson and wife, Jennifer and Todd Richardson and wife, Cricket of Campbellsville and Donnie Richardson of Los Angeles; fifteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Morris Pickett and wife, Marilyn of Shelbyville, Indiana and Mark Pickett of Columbia; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

          Mr. Thomas McElroy, age 93, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center in Taylor County.

          Thomas was the son of the late Ada May Burton Anderson and Willis McElroy, he was also preceded in death by his first wife Mary Alice McElroy and his late wife Goldie Rosemary Holmes McElroy, one son; Tommy Lee McElroy, five sisters; Leddy Wethington, Anna Smith, Helen King, Opal Black and Mattie Price.

          He was survived by two daughters; Betty Jean Crain of Indiana and Sandra Real of Tennessee, one step daughter; Loria Miller of Indiana, one sister; Betty Shepherd of Indiana, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren, caregiver; Junior and Linda Cundiff of Campbellsville, along with a host of family and friends.

          Funeral services for Mr. Thomas McElroy were conducted at 1 PM Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at chapel of Lyon-DeWitt Funeral Home with burial in the Brookside Cemetery.
