Carolyn Bottoms Newton Thompson of Louisville, formerly of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Shelby Bottoms and Alice Greer Bottoms was born

September 23, 1943 in Taylor County, Kentucky. She died at 12:36 P.M., Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Louisville.     Age: 69

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was a former restaurant manager.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Regina Newton of New Salisbury, Indiana; two step-children: Walter Thompson and Misty Thompson of Louisville; three grandchildren: Shelby Keith Newton, Scott Howard Newton and Alice Catherine Newton; four sisters and one brother: Ruth Price, Margaret Shively and Rita Nelson Cobb of Campbellsville, Mary Nelson of Louisville and J.D. Bottoms of Texas City, Texas; one aunt, Blanche Kerr of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters: Ronald Bottoms, Ralph Bottoms, James Bottoms, Lenny Bottoms, Hazel Beasley and Leona Hughes.

Mitchell Rodgers

Mitchell Rodgers of Campbellsville, son of the late Ralph Mitchell Rodgers, Sr. and Claudine McCubbin Rodgers, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, December 21, 1936.  He died at 9:50 A.M., Friday, February 1, 2013, in Campbellsville.     Age:   76

He professed faith in Christ and attended Liberty Baptist Church.

He was a retired construction employee.

He was a member of the Elk Horn Masonic Lodge #568 F & AM for many years.

He united in marriage to Mildred Baumgardner August 25, 1956.

Besides his wife, Mildred Rodgers, he is survived by two sons and one daughter:  Mike Rodgers and wife, Cindy, Ricky Rodgers and wife, Ann and Carol Caldwell and husband, Tony of Campbellsville; five grandchildren:  Jenna Schulten and husband, John, LeAnn Eastridge and husband, Jordan, Nathan Rodgers, Raven Norris and husband, John and Haley Rodgers; three great-grandchildren:  Jack Schulten, Olivia Schulten and Finn Eastridge; two brothers and three sisters:  Bobby Rodgers and wife, Donna, Lorene Mann and husband, Gordon, Margaret Sapp of Campbellsville, Eva Skaggs and husband, Ham of Russell Springs and Jimmy Rodgers and wife, Debbie of Leitchfield; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Rodgers June 4, 1999.

Dalena Stiles of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Shelby Peters and Josie Bryant Peters, was born May 22, 1921, in Taylor County, Kentucky.  She died at 1:30 A.M., Thursday, January 31, 2013 in Campbellsville. Age: 91

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom.

She united in marriage to R. D. Stiles December 25, 1941.  He preceded her in death November 30, 1988.

She is survived by one son and two daughters:  Roger Stiles and wife, Connie, Linda Stiles and Debbie Stiles of Campbellsville; one granddaughter , Tiffany Lyons and husband, Adam of Eddyville; two great-grandchildren, Quinn Lyons and Campbell Lyons; two sisters-in-law, Frances Peters and Nancy Stiles of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Sheridan Peters, Kay Matich and Geneva Barnett.
