William Forrest “Billy” Sears of Campbellsville, son of William Francis Sears and Ruby Nicholas Sears, was born in Exeter, New Hampshire July 29, 1946. He died at 11:20 A.M., Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Louisville. Age: 65
He was a retired carpenter.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was awarded the Purple Heart; Army Commendation Medal; Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Service Star; Vietnam Campaign Medal; Good Conduct Medal Clasp with Bronze and two Loops; Combat Infantry Badge; Air Medal; Army Occupation Medal (Berlin).
He was part of the 75th Rangers and the 5th Special Forces.
He was a member of the American Legion Edwards O’Banion Post No. 82 and also a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He united in marriage to Claris Neat June 27, 1992.
Besides his wife, Claris Sears, he is survived by one son, Christopher Sears of New York; five step-children: Rita Bush of Horse Cave, Barbara Gilpin of Shepherdsville, Jamie Luttrell and Angie Kerekes of Knifley and Ronnie Luttrell of Columbia; two grandchildren; eighteen step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; his parents: William Frances and Ruby Sears of Campbellsville; four sisters: Annie Parrott and Pattie Sears of Campbellsville, Johanna Sciascia of Enterprise, Alabama and Mary Catherine Kidd of Harrodsburg; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a step-son, Larry Luttrell.

Leola Moss of Campbellsville, daughter of the late John Cornelius Whitehead and Elizabeth Ermine Wright Whitehead, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, May 21, 1934. She died at 3:10 A.M., Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Campbellsville. Age: 78
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church.
She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Teresa Moss of Prestonsburg; one grandson, Damon Moss and wife, Kasey of Campbellsville; three great-grandchildren: Blake Moss, Braylen Moss, and Alexia Moss of Campbellsville; two sisters: Allene Smith and Mildred Moore and husband, Junior of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Wesley Whitehead, Elsie Weddle, Clemmie Atwell, and Doris Hoosier.

Elizabeth Marine “Nanny” Hayes of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ben F. Foley and Lola Withers Foley, was born in Casey County, Kentucky, September 27, 1934. She died at 12:35 A.M., Sunday, July 15, 2012, in Lexington. Age: 77
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for several years.
Many young adults and younger children were touched by her loving care and fondly called her “Nanny”.
She worked several years at Fruit of the Loom and was co-owner with her husband at Buel C. Hayes Printing Company in Campbellsville. She later started a child care service from which she took care of two generations of children.
She united in marriage to Buel Hayes August 3, 1951.
Besides her husband, Buel Hayes, she is survived by one daughter and two sons: Renee Martin and husband, Craig of Lexington, Charles David Hayes and wife, Donna and Robert “Bobby” Hayes and wife, Karen of Campbellsville; seven grandchildren: Shannon Lyman, Lauren Poullos and husband, Rob and Dana Hayes Fuller and husband, Ches of Lexington, Drew Hayes, Josh Hayes, Jordan Hayes and Jade Hayes of Campbellsville; eight great-grandchildren: Alec Lyman, Mason Lyman, Trenton Poullos, Giana Poullos, Clara Grace Fuller and Eli Chesley Fuller of Lexington, Brianna Hayes of Campbellsville and Jacob Hayes of Summersville; one brother, Dalon Foley and wife, Jenny of Cincinnati, Ohio; her special little angel, Toby; a large number of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Kay Hayes; three brothers and one sister: Olas Foley, Charles Foley, Richard Foley and Margaret “Emma” Hayes; two half-brothers: Wayne Foley and Vance Foley; two half-sisters: Esther McNeilus and Evelyn Dyer.
