(FRANKFORT, KY) –  Preliminary statistics* indicate that six people died in six separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways during the official Memorial Day holiday period, which began at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 28 and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 31.

Injury Accident at the Intersection of Lebanon Avenue and West Lake Drive

Tyler Pippin of Campbellsville, operating a 2003 Volkswagon was traveling northbound on Lebanon Avenue and failed to see a 2001 Daewoo being operated by Shawn T. Mann of Campbellsville stopped on the Lebanon Avenue. The Mann vehicle was waiting to make a left hand turn from Lebanon Avenue onto West Lake Drive. The Pippin vehicle struck the Mann vehicle in the rear. Pippin and a passenger in the Mann vehicle, William P. Covin was transported to Taylor Regional Hospital for treatment.

Agencies Involved: Campbellsville Police Department, Campbellsville Fire, and Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue.

Investigating Officers:            Officer Jason Simpson investigated.
