Kemel Work of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Edd Smith and Celia Smith, was born May 22, 1922, in Cumberland County, Kentucky.  She died at
1:13 P.M., Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Campbellsville.                Age: 88
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Sunny Hill Drive Church of Christ. 
She was an employee of Fruit of the Loom for many years.
She united in marriage to James Work September 27, 1947.  He preceded her in death August 11, 2006. 
She is survived by two sisters:  Oleen Hill of Campbellsville and Hazel Sensing of Bowling Green; three nieces and two nephews:  Carlene Newton of Campbellsville, Clyde Hill and Larry Sensing of Bowling Green, and Sue Riddle and Barbara Jean Sawyers of Albany; five great-nieces and two great-nephews:  Ashley Crowe and Paige Orlando of Bowling Green, Sabrina Massey of Nashville, Linda Ray and Brenda Vitatoe of Albany, Justin Newton of Louisville, and Austin Newton of Richmond; three great-great-nieces and two great-great nephews: Riley Crowe, Henle Newton, Halle Newton, Sam Massey, and Jax Massey; special friends:  Wanda Walters, Pauline McGinnis and the EL-AMOURI Family and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Vicie Mae Garner.

Taylor County Band makes finals!

Today the Taylor County Marching Band competed at Meade Co. in semi-finals competition against 15 other bands. The band scored an 80.6/100 placing them 4th in class AAA. They will be competing 1st in finals competition at the Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium tonight at 8 PM est. It is the first time in 18 years that the Taylor County Marching Band has made state finals.
