Statewide Tornado Drill Tuesday March 8th

Posted by on Mar 8, 2011

As a part of Severe Weather Awareness Month in Kentucky the 2011 annual Statewide Tornado Drill will be conducted on Tuesday March 8th at approximately 10:07AM Eastern Standard Time.
The National Weather Service and Emergency Management will conduct the drill using an alert test message that will be broadcast over weather alert radios and broadcast stations, both television and radio.
Schools, businesses, governments and individuals are encouraged to practice their tornado safety drill and update their safety plan at this time.

Emergency Management strongly recommends for all public buildings to have in place a weather radio receiver that sounds an alert during severe weather. This is the quickest method of receiving warnings.

If your facility does participate in the drill, you are ask to go on-line at:
http://www.logiforms.com/formdata/user_forms/25701_7726379/87663/

and complete the survey. The county’s only fire siren will sound seven times at the beginning of this drill with the seventh blow being continuous for several minutes. In the event of stormy weather in the area, the drill will be canceled
