Kentucky State Police Activity Report

During the month of July, 2010, there were 23 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

 There were three fatalities during the month of July in the Post 15 area:

 Basil, Jessie Ray; of Summer Shade, KY, was killed in Metcalfe Co. KY on 07/05/10.

Walters, Victor; of Elizabethtown, KY, was killed in Washington Co, KY on 07/16/10.

Sallee, Jerry L.; of Lebanon, KY, was killed in Marion Co., KY on 07/24/10.

 This brings our yearly fatality count to 12 compared with 26 through this same period in 2009.

State wide fatality count stands at 409 compared with 458 through this same period in 2009.

 During the month of July, 2010, there were 815 citations written, 219 courtesy notices written, 1441 vehicles inspected, 861 complaints answered, 119 motorists assisted, 105 criminal cases opened and 217 criminal arrests made.

Sheriffs Department Needs Help Locating Stolen Four Wheeler

The Taylor CountySheriffs Department is currently investigating a stolen 4 wheeler taken from the residence of Bobby Burress located at 5204 Speckridge Road.  A red and black 2007 or 2008  450 Polaris 4-wheeler was taken sometime during the late evening hours of 8/10/2010 or the early morning hours of 8/11/2010.  Any one with information about the case or the where abouts of the 4-wheeler is asked to contact the Taylor County Sheriffs Office.
