Donna Barnett Farmer, age 77, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Louisville, KY. She lost her battle with liver cancer. Donna was the daughter of the late Edward “Bear” Barnett and Geneva Peters Barnett and was born November 9, 1946, near Yuma in Taylor County, KY.
She is survived by two sons; Christopher Farmer, and Jason Farmer and his wife Andrea all of Campbellsville, four grandchildren, one sister; Shirley Bright of Campbellsville, one brother; Ralph Barnett of Russell Springs, KY, and a host of other relatives, friends and her church family.
She was a member of the Point Pleasant Baptist Church, a member of the Jane Lampton Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Society of Boonesborough. She was a descendant of the Daniel Boone family.
She retired from the Cabinet of Family and Children as an Eligibility Caseworker. She also worked many years for the Hansford Auction Co. as a clerk and cashier. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and she loved genealogy and had worked very hard to trace her family roots.
The funeral for Donna Barnett Farmer will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery.
Bro. Jim Collison will officiate.
The family has requested visitation on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 5 – 8:00 P.M. at the L. R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to the Point Pleasant Baptist Church building fund and can be made at the funeral home.

Brenda Gupton Allen of Campbellsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 13, 1943 to the late Gertrude Grant and Ossian Crawley Gupton. Age: 81
She professed faith in Christ and was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church. She was in the Emilene Milby Circle and held many positions in the other local and district boards of the United Methodist Women.
Brenda started her work career humbly as a Supervisor at Big K. Honing her skills and work ethic early on, she would continue to work for other businesses in Taylor County including Ingersoll-Rand and Cox’s Cabinets before becoming a central and instrumental community member for Campbellsville.
Brenda served as the City Clerk for four years and then became the first female Mayor of Campbellsville. She served three terms as Mayor and took great pride in the community that she loved dearly.
Her many accomplishments in her prestigious life included: Executive Director of the Healing Place for two years, Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services for four years which was appointed by the Governor, Campbellsville Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2011, Office Assistant of the President of Campbellsville University for four years, Honorable Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Emmaus Community and chosen as the Business and Professional Women Club Woman of the year in 1985, 1992, and 2002.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Allen of Campbellsville; three sons and daughters-in-law whom she loved dearly and was very proud of: Bryan and Linda Allen of Jefferson, Georgia, Jon and Marcia Allen of Campbellsville, and Brent and Kym Allen of Evans, Georgia; five grandchildren whom she cherished dearly and was known to them as Grambie: Caleigh Allen, Ciara and Nick Bagnasco, Lance Allen, AJ Allen, and Brynna Allen.
Brenda was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters: Bobby Ray Gupton, Georgia Beard, Arbell Hall, and Lola Mae Gupton in infancy.

Mr. Joshua Tyler Garrett of Campbellsville, son of Randy Gale Garrett and Debbie Jo (Clark) Garrett, passed from this life on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at his residence. Born on September 9, 1986 in Taylor County, he was 37 years of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Garrett was an employee of DHL in Bowling Green. He was a noted gearhead and a race enthusiast, and loved his job and his family.
Besides his parents, he is survived by:
Two children: Jaxon Garrett and Aliyah Garrett, both of Campbellsville,
Four siblings: Rhonda Jarvis and husband John of Louisville, and Deanna Caulk and husband Kevin, Ryan Garrett and wife Angela, and Jeremy Garrett and wife Hanna, all of Campbellsville,
And a host of extended family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Shirley Garrett and Pauline Sallee.
There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Garrett on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM EDT (1:00 PM CDT) in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00-2:00 PM EDT (11:00-1:00 CDT).
