Titusville, FL- Gary Lynn Minor (79) of Titusville Florida, died on May 5 2024.
Gary was born on July 27, 1944 in Mannsville Kentucky, the son of the late Cleveland and Hylma Minor. He attended Taylor County public schools and graduated Taylor County High School in 1962 where he lettered in basketball, baseball, track and cross country. His basketball team went to the regional championship finals his senior year. Folks there still talk about that game. In 1962, he enrolled in Campbellsville University where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree.
In 1966, he married Beth Walker of Campbellsville, Kentucky. In 1969 they moved to Titusville, Florida, where Gary accepted a teaching position at Riverview Elementary. He also worked with youth in the YMCA summer rec programs. It wasn’t long before he became affectionately known to the kids as “coach”. He touched many lives as a teacher. They raised 3 children and spent holidays in Kentucky with family.
He received his Master’s Degree in Science in 1981 from Nova University. Gary accepted a position with Rockwell International as a Quality Control manager for the space shuttle program. He married his second wife Alice (Macasaet) Minor in 1986, and together they raised their daughter Alison. They lived his retirement years in Hawaii and Florida.
Gary was a lifelong Methodist, taught Sunday school, and later in life supported his wife’s faith in the Catholic Church. He supported various children’s organizations and Christian ministries over the years.
He loved basketball. He played it, coached it, and enjoyed watching high school, college, NBA and women’s basketball. Most of all, he loved his Kentucky Wildcats.
Gary is survived by his wife Alice, his brother Scotty, his sisters Gayle and Diane, his son Jeff, his daughter Lynn Ann (Compton), son Jason, and daughter Alison as well as his grandchildren Alex, Sofia, Anderson and Owen.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Craig.
Services were held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mims, Florida.
There will be a gathering of friends and family for a memorial to honor Gary Lynn Minor on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. at the Mannsville Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

Wanda Faye Tungate of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Paul Brown and Marie Mason, was born on December 3, 1944, in Bradfordsville, KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Campbellsville. She was 79 years of age.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker and caretaker. She enjoyed coloring, fishing, watching television, gardening, flowers, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by eight children: Jimmy Tungate(Jane), Tassie Seals (Robert), Elizabeth Tungate (Jeremy), Kathy Tungate, Robert Arnold Tungate, James Clarkson (Wendy), Michelle Tungate (James), and Breanna Tungate all of Campbellsville along with 19 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers: Roy Newton and Paul Ray Brown both of Campbellsville.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; James Harrison Tungate, and a grandson: Jimmy James Tungate, three sisters: Anna Faye Mason, Jeriann Hafley, and Mary Reardon, and a brother: Tudor Newton.
There will be a funeral service for Wanda Faye Tungate on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
Bro. Freddy Thompson and Bro. Jerry Lanham will officiate.
The family has requested visitation on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Sandra “Sandy” Cash of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late William Hines and Ruby Blevins Hines was born on February 12, 1957, and departed this life Wednesday, June 12, 2024, in Louisville. She was 67 years of age.
She professed faith in Christ and attended the Elk Horn Baptist Church. She was employed as a headstart teacher for 33-plus years. She was an organ donor as well as an organ recipient. She loved and lived for her grandchildren.
She united in marriage to Byron Timothy Cash who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, and two sons: Brandy Close and husband Andy of Campbellsville, Matt Cash and wife Melanie of Mannsville, and Josh Cash and wife Kellie of Campbellsville.
Ten grandchildren: Bryten Close, Hudsen Close and Ali Close, Jaquon Coulter, Tray Coe, Blade Miller, Liam Miller, Paisley Cash, Paxton Cash, and Parker Cash. One great-grandson, Kaisen Coe.
Also surviving are two sisters: Brenda McNear (Greg) of Campbellsville, and Donna Knight (Bill) of Benton, KY, Two sisters-in-law: Beate Hines and Michelle Cash.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Linken Close, and two brothers: Freddy Hines and Doug Hines.
There will be a funeral service for Sandra “Sandy” Cash on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel 1765 New Columbia Road with burial to follow in the Tallow Creek Cemetery.

The family requested visitation on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
