Richard Lynn “Ricky” Brown, 62

Richard Lynn “Ricky” Brown of Campbellsville, KY, the son of the late James Brown and Myrtie Taylor Brown, was born December 9, 1961, and departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Campbellsville, KY. He was 62 years of age.

He was of the Baptist Faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a builder and the owner of Brown Construction. He enjoyed watching westerns, talking with friends, flea markets, grilling, and spending time with family.

Survivors include one son: Richard “Bubby” Brown, Jr., and his wife Myra of Greensburg. Nine sisters: Patty Milby, Clara Bagby, Betty Farmer, Mable Houston, Kathy Sharp (Joe), Beverly Brown, Deanna Bland, and Rhonda Dickens, all of Campbellsville, James Lewis Brown of Greensburg, and Susie Riggs (Richard) of Lebanon.

Also surviving are six grandchildren: Remy Brown, Caselynn Brown, Lyrik Marr, Micahla Sears, Jayla Crask, and Ryan Sears. Nine great-grandchildren, and a special friend Mary Gray of Campbellsville.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters: Billy Ray “Goat” Brown, Pearl Turpin, and Emma Lee.

 

 There will be a funeral service for Richard Lynn “Ricky” Brown on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the L.R. Petty Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.

Bro. John Nguyen will officiate.

The family has requested visitation on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

Rita Keltner

Rita Keltner, 74, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Everett Robison and Rosa Eastridge Robison, departed this life on May 23, 2023 in Campbellsville.  Rita professed faith in Christ and was a member of Earlys Chapel Methodist Church.  She worked for Atmos Energy for 36 years and was active in the United Methodist Women (UMW).

Rita loved gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her husband of 50 years and her large family, especially as a beloved Mamaw to her two grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her husband, Dennis Keltner; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brandon Keltner (Sarah) of Scottsville and Brad Keltner of Glasgow; two grandchildren, Kentlee Keltner and Griffin Keltner; one sister, Garnettia Knifley of Columbia, Kentucky; and one brother, Dallard Robison of Louisville, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Rosa Robison; six brothers, Ivan, Alvin, Chester, Wig, MC, and WR Robison; and one sister, Flora Robison.

Betty Jo Kearney

Betty Jo Kearney, daughter of the late Kenneth Pyles and Eula Grant Pyles, was born on February 16, 1947 in Adair County, Kentucky.  She died at 3:17 P.M., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky, after complications from a stroke.  Age:  77

She was baptized and professed faith in Jesus Christ.  Betty had been a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church for several decades.

She loved her life and family.  She was kind, compassionate and fun to be around.  In her earlier years, she loved to work and meet new people.  Her first job was at The Jim Dandy Restaurant in Columbia, Kentucky at the young age of 14.  She spent many years working at Fruit of the Loom and made lasting friendships there.  Betty also worked at Cox Interior and the Campbellsville Baptist Church Child Development Center.  She loved to reminisce about her working days and the fun times that she had with her friends.

She united in marriage to William Larry Kearney September 12, 1965.

Besides her husband, Larry Kearney of Campbellsville, Betty is survived by two daughters:  Kim Scalf and husband, Wade of Springfield and Teresa Barnett and husband, Kenny of Lebanon; three grandchildren:  Nicholas Barnett, Parker Barnett and Haley Scalf; one brother and three sisters:  Jeffrey Pyles, Barbara Flatt, Rita Smith and Patty Wong; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters:  Lyndall Pyles, Terry Pyles, Bernadine Drake, Katie Pyles and Cindy Rowe.
