Margaret Jeanine Burress

Margaret Jeanine Burress, 76, of Campbellsville, KY, the daughter of the late Linus and Avis England Bright, was born February 6, 1950 in Taylor County, KY and passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Margaret united in marriage to the love of her life, Roger Burress in 1968, they were married for 42 years, until his death January 28, 2012. She professed faith in Christ and attended Feathersburg Church of God. Margaret worked at Fruit of the Loom for several years and then opened and co-owned Burress’ Grocery in the Speck Ridge community, with Roger, until his death. For the last several years, she proudly helped take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren anytime she could.

Margaret loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children, but her true joy in life was spending time with and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whenever she got the opportunity. “Memaw” was her favorite title.

SURVIVORS:

2 sons: Robbie Burress and wife, Leanna of Speck Ridge and Bobby Burress and wife, Misty, of Campbellsville.

4 Grandchildren: Tyler Burress (Lindsay); Madison Burress Hughes (Dalton); Corey Burress (Sam) all of Campbellsville and Coty Burress (Kyndall), of Frankfort.

6 Great Grandchildren: Bryson Burress, Tenley Burress and Olivia Burress; Liam and Miles Burress and Asher Hughes

2 sisters and 2 brothers: Christine Greer and Patricia Gray and Willard Bright and Alvin Bright, all of Campbellsville

A host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Burress and 5 sisters, Doris Jean Wilson, Judy Brockman, Faye Burton, Rita Moore, Lorena Brockman.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at L.R. Petty Funeral Home

Burial: Callahan Cemetery

Officiating: Mark Carney & Bro. Thomas Metcalfe

Visitation: 5 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the funeral home.

Wendel A. Goode

Wendel Alan Goode of the Knifley Community, the son of the late Welby and Juanita (Googe) Goode, was born September 17, 1960 in Louisville, KY and departed this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at his home. He was 65 years of age.

He was a retired sheet metal foreman and HVAC installer and attended the Christie Chapel Church.
He enjoyed motorcycles, and music, playing the guitar, being outdoors and enjoying nature and drawing.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, KJ Bruner, and one sister: Glenda Daniels.

Survivors include his wife: Michele (Minor) Goode of Knifley; his children: Angel Bruner (Michael Hamilton) of Scottsville, Brittany Todoroff (John) of Charleston, South Carolina, Brooke Ansert and Gabrielle Ansert, both of Louisville.

A brother: Jeff Goode of Louisville; five grandchildren: Chloe Tuttle, Lee Bruner, Jaxon Bruner, Rowan and Kate Todoroff and a host of loving nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

FUNERAL: Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.EST

Pam Newton

Pamela Diane Newton, 66, of Campbellsville, Kentucky, passed away on May 30, 2026, entering her next life surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on December 22, 1959, to Glen Allen Newton and Alma Lucille (Wise) Newton. She is preceded in death by them as well as her two sons, Ernest Tyler Akins and Jonathan Glen Harmon. She was a loud and proud follower of Christ.

Pam spent most of her adult life as a waitress, the last 25 years at Creekside Restaurant, pulling her oxygen along to her tables until the very end. She was 58 inches of spirit and strength. She loved to give and to gather. Her favorite pastimes were finding ways to ‘pay it forward’ and hosting family parties. Her favorite roles were always that of ‘Aunt Pam,’ ‘Nanny,’ and, most importantly, ‘Mama.’

She is survived by a daughter, Sarah Harmon, of Lexington, Kentucky. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Zachary Robertson and Jasmin Robertson, both of Campbellsville, and a special granddog, Odie, who brought her so much joy. She leaves behind two brothers, Allen (Janice) Newton and Donnie (Alisha) Newton, of Campbellsville, as well as many special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will also be missed by many dear friends.
